  1. It's getting kind of depressing in here so I wanted to highlight some bright spots in the org. Crochet is a building block. 31 Ks in 4 starts isnt a fluke. We all knew this one. If Andrew Vaughn was hitting in the way Gavin Sheets is hitting .270/.391/.541 we would be pumped. Gavin is only a year older than Vaughn so just pretend they switched bodies. Nastrini looked awesome today, He didnt have the best results in AAA, but 13ks in 7 innings is something Colson Montgomery homered in two of his last three games. Colson's pop is on the top of my watch list this year. We will see what Cannon does tomorrow but hes had a solid showing in AAA so far (2.79 ERA over 9.2 innings) Brooks Baldwin was an 80 Grade name and is a 23 year old in AA with a .985 OPS in 26 ABs and has more BBs than SOs. Hes a 2022 12th rounder who had an .800 OPS across A ball last year Wilfred Veras is a 21 year old at AA Birmingham with a .941 OPS in 34 ABs. He hasn't taken a walk yet but is 12 for 20 with 2 homers when he puts the bat on the ball. Edgar Quero (also in AA) has 4 homers already this year in 25 ABs. Hes a catcher that was acquired in the Gio/Reylo trade. Hes 21 years old and is a legit top 50-100 prospect that is MASHING. Plus he's Cuban which is fun. Ky Bush was acquired with Quero and had a very solid start to open the year in AA (5IP 1 ER 7K) Drew Thorpe who was a huge part of the Cease return has dominated in AA. He's a 23 year old 2022 draftee that has a .82 ERA in 11 innings with 15Ks to 2 walks. Him and Schultz (getting to him later) are the two most important pitching propsects and they are dealing. Jairo Iriarte (22 years old) was also acquired in the Cease trade and has also been dominant in AA. He hasn't given up an earned run in 8 innings and has struck out 11. Last years first rounder Jacob Gonzalez is about the only guy hitting in Winston Salem (A+) but he's the most important by far. Hes slashed .281/.410.438 in 39 PAs. He also has 6 BBs to 5ks. I imagine he'll work his way up to AA by the end of the year. Noah Schultz is a guy. He's had 17 ks and 2 bbs in 8IP in A ball. The 4.50 ERA is deceptive and I think he'll work his way up faster than Gonzalez. 2023 6th Round Lucas Gordon has dominated in Kannapolis so far this year. In two starts he has 16ks and 3bbs in 11IP. He was dominant last year but the walk rate was way too high. If he continues on this path he'll be a legit prospect. A college pitcher should probably be succeeding in A ball but hes a lefty that generates K's and that always plays. He's not a Fangraphs top 30 guy and his South Side Sox prospect #59 due to bullpen risk/lack of upside but hes doing everything that can be asked of him so far. Pitching wise the Sox systems future could be a lot worse than Crochet/Nastrini/Cannon/Shultz/Thorpe/Iriarte/Bush. Hitting wise Colson is coming around and Quero is a rising prospect. If Gonzalez keeps hitting he'll be grouped with those two before the end of summer. This is far from an exhaustive list of quality propsects the sox have but some guys have had rough starts or are hurt to start the year,

  3. I'm not gonna lie, I'd love to see a 1-20 start by this team. I really want to see how K-Mart Mr. Clean and Getz answer to something that catastrophic.

  4. This is what gets me. People spent the entire winter talking about how we didn't sign any good players, the players we did sign sucked, and everyone in management was trash, yet are still freaking out with each bad play and game. I don't even want to see respectable bad. I want to see national embarrassment bad. I want this drug through the mud and questioned in gory detail and mocked league wide. Give me record breaking bad. #TeamBurnThisBitchtotheGround

  6. All I know is, no matter what I'm going to enjoy this season more than 2023. Zero expectations, no chance for dissapointment.

  7. The good news is that no one is ever amped up on opening day, so we don't have to worry about him overthrowing things or over stressing that arm. We also can count on the manager to be responsible about his pitch count and innings count.

  8. Not even joking here. Soxtalk RIPPED Tony to shreds for telling players not to hustle all the time. Look at what has happened to our team for hustling to first. Yoan went down with a terrible looking injury. Eloy went down running to first, AGAIN. Robert tore his hip flexor running to first, then pulled it again recently while rounding first. Tony knew his personnel. He knew that he had a bunch of players made of glass. He got demolished for it, but he was right. You can't have any of the "big 3" hustling at this point. They are getting destroyed from it. I know Soxtalk's MO is "blame Tony and Pedro for everything", but Tony was correct here.

  10. Your Cubs fan obsession is disturbing and ridiculous. Cubs fans aren’t the reason this White Sox team is historically bad. Jerry Reinsdorf is the reason. At least place your hate on the correct target. This franchise is already diminished due to its owner and is the laughingstock of baseball.

  15. Bold predictions: Crochet pitchers three innings of scoreless ball Five relievers are used to complete the game Shaw is one of those relievers and gives up three runs Hill also gives up a run, but the other three are perfect Offense only scores one run on a Robert solo shot A base-running gaffe kills our best shot at a rally The defense makes a handful of nice plays Pedro says something really stupid during the post game

  16. Because the White Sox have two good major league players. The majority of those prospects will not be good major leaguers. Oh and because they were supposed to be in their peak contention window from their last rebuild, this year, but instead they're one of the worst teams of all time. I don't know how anyone on earth doesn't completely understand the doom and gloom.

  17. Is it too much to ask for you to keep this bullshit in the big league threads?

  18. Honestly if they don't trust Colas in the field just bring him up and make him the DH. He seems to be making strides at the plate and IDGAF anymore about Pedro's beef with him. I'm done with Eloy getting throat contusions from eating too cold ice cream at little kids birthday parties or whatever the f*** the issue is now.

  19. I don't care whether Eloy has another AB with this team. Don't care.

  21. Im finding myself wanting the Sox to lose in embarrassing fashion day in and day out. I would be even happier if they break some records along the way. Worst record is still on the table, the shutout record, worst OPS record, etc.. I consider myself a diehard fan, but what kind of fan wants their team to fail miserably? We can only draft 10th next year so why am i feeling this way? I dont quite know what to think anymore. does anyone else feel this way?

  22. Cause many of us remember when the team was ranked first — built off of external trades and a few high draft picks — but they couldn't develop any supplemental pieces to support that talent and that talent never really put it all together, with players unable to stay healthy or keeping their same strengths and weaknesses that they had in the minor leagues. And now the guy in charge of developing the minor league system back then is in charge of the whole operation.

  23. Lol, yeah that 246 PA sample is surely enough to write him off for good! Your complete flip flop from hating every move the Sox make to now championing every move is quite comical.

  27. Good lord dude, a guy like Rodriguez should be worth more to the white Sox than cash or a bunch of old ass never wases they kept over him. Everyone else is right and you are wrong. If it was June, I’d get it. It’s 7 games into the season.

  29. Lololol I literally just read the new propaganda piece from Merkin with the headline "With warrior mentality, Eloy pushes forward" then cruised over here to find out he just hit the IL. Somebody put this clown show franchise in a body bag already.

  37. Hey asshole: I wrote my thesis on Minnie Minoso, watch the Dash every time they come to Brooklyn, bought my dad artwork of Aparicio, own jerseys and hat for three of their minor league teams in addition to the Sox swag that makes up my wardrobe and I'll be dead before I root for the team that failed my grandfather before he died (my mom's side was Cubs fans, she converted). Despite all that, I want the owner who's stomped on my fandom, his lackey GM and braindead manager to get their just desserts. But you go back to pissing on what could be the best thing for the Sox in decades in the form of a new stadium because you've got some vendetta against dirt.

  39. I mean yes, this to. Dude exacerbated the injury by running in a straight line. Alright anyway I can't help it, meathead mode: football players: get hit by 260 lb men going 20 mph, get ankle ripped off, back in 2 weeks. Basketball players: sharp cuts, sudden acceleration, constant jumping and contact with 200-260lb giants. Baseball players: have to run in a straight line 4 times a day. Body falls apart and die.

  40. Where does he say anything about enjoying this s%*# show? Many of us are/were informed enough to realize the team was going to be dreadful before the season actually started. It's playing out like many of us expected. We just don't feel the need to whine and complain about it like a petulant child ad nauseum every 10 minutes.
