Thinking anderson should have seen that third was the play there is an interesting take. This one is on Yoan - he needs to be yelling 3 there. That ball was hit deep enough in the hole that anderson cant be taking his eye off the ball to check third and he did not have any time to check it before the play to one. Yoan needs to be aggressive and loud there as he is Timmy's eyes on that play because tim had to focus on the ball.. since that's kinda important and all.3 points

Screw Ozzie. Hire Ditka. Unfortunately, Ricky will be here until he screws up JR's Dunkin Donuts order multiple times.3 points

dude I uh, have had two fully ruptured patella tendons, at the same time. There's like 5 of those in the entire US every year. I was a presige charity case for my surgeon and I have blown past the best case outcome (full recovery to all activity basically). also have had a completely shattered foot requiring 4 pins and months off it. I know pain and I know athletes in pain. If all he has is a really an ankle sprain (yea had a lot of those too) and had to be helped off like that I can say that's a bit of a diva move. i love TA man, but I call it like I see it. anyways go sox and go TA!2 points

God bless those of you who can pay an ounce of attention to the actual game, cuz I sure as hell cant.2 points

This whole ridiculous mess with pitching is not Renteria's fault. I might be in the minority as I think Ricky has done a nice job with this club and the young guys2 points

Abreu chasing out of the zone pitches is getting chronic. I would drop him in the order to 5th or 6th.2 points

Another reason not to do a bullpen day...Ruiz sucks and shouldn’t pitch in close games. Sox management really has their heads up their asses right now2 points

So sick of TA crappy defense being babied from everyone in the organization, saying he had a good night.2 points

I don't see how you can come here and constantly play the martyr but here we are. No debate class, just annoyed at your constant playing the victim, dismissal of anyone who actually brings facts to a discussion, and you calling people haters and sabes many, MANY, people on this site have spent hours writing long form posts that's debate things that you dismiss and barely skim. So happy for you that avi is finally having a good season, it's so great that it took 5 years of fucking around in a white Sox uniform to actually have another good season. Yay avi. Yay2 points

I’m tired of Ricky and the front office. The only thing that keeps me watching is the progress of Yoan, Eloy, Tim, McCann and Giolito2 points

Ozzie? I have never seen a manager, in any sport, quit on his team worse than Ozzie. He managed in a way so that he would be fired and allowed to take a position with a different team. That should never be forgiven. He burned the bridge.2 points
-
This is what I would like the White Sox do for a change. If they think they need to change managers, give it some real thought, interview more than one guy, and even consider baseball men outside the organization. In fact, they should make up their minds and hire someone who has never been connected to the team. For once, treat this job as if it was important and approach the hiring that way.2 points

Anderson has been 98, 78 and 85 in wRC+ before this season. Is he going to stay at 120 for the rest of this season? Probably not. Is he one of the best ten or twelve SS’s in baseball? Undoubtedly, despite the brain cramps, routine play blunders and occasional overaggressiveness when caution is called for on the basepaths. Like Jose Valentin, he makes up for those blunders with his range and arm. In the end, it’s a huge win to get 3-4 fWAR out of him on a consistent basis. He’s one of our five young core position players moving forward. He’s also probably not the superstar he looked like the first six weeks, and walk rates will always suppress his full offensive value. Finally, replacing your SS is probably the hardest move you can make as an organization...along with developing a young catcher who can both hit and field. Being objective about a player on your team is far from being a hater. My point was that moving him to the outfield creates an even bigger hole to fill at SS.2 points

No....just no. The clamoring for Ozzie by several White Sox fans because of what he did 14 years ago is flabbergasting.2 points

Well I found something different we can spend some money on: For any who don't know, Boddy is the guy who runs Driveline. Let's use some of that money we have lying around to revamp our player development staff.2 points

Can't be upset with this loss. When you're starting your bottom bullpen against the World Champion Red Sox, I don't think anybody should be surprised by the loss. Maybe they should have forfeited the game and spared White sox fans the misery of this game. When you have a organization that did nothing this past off season to improve the starting rotation you start your bullpen in games like this. Nobody is being held accountable for this mess and the whole situation stinks.1 point

Yeah.. reality check. Can't win mlb baseball games with no starting pitching and a thing ass bullpen. And a team with players that set team mlb record for strikeouts last season. So tired of our players hacking at shit pitches... we do it way worse than anyone we play against. It's infuriating.1 point

I actually think he is a victim of his own success. I agree with Stone, he has made some unreal plays, now he thinks he can make everything. He will learn.1 point

Why be happy when we can b****, right? Honestly, if anyone under 1000 posts brings up Tatis off topic, they should instantly be banned. The Astros passed on Kris Bryant and they're fine. Everyone needs to move the hell on.1 point

I agree with you that the team has to make most of its improvement internally. If the young guys do not work out, free agency is going to give us nothing but hope for lightning in a bottle. I am just saying that I doubt the Sox are going to sign the premier free agents, so they better come in quickly at fair market for the tier 2 free agents to supplement a young core that needs to be getting better. And like I have said before, I just do not trust Hahn to trade the right "surplus" prospects to fill our holes.1 point

The future of Carson Fulmer is to be an opener for the 2021 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox1 point
-
Yup. and if they were to all of a sudden demand more it would look really bad to all the other teams. If you cant trust them you wont draft him or work with his agent in the future. He would be really dumb to pull a move like that. My guess is they are waiting for a home weekend series so they can have a Vaughn day, where he gets to throw out the 1st pitch and be celebrated.1 point

I would like to see Ricky experiment with Abreu lower in the batting order. He swings at way to many out of zone pitches based on his desire to be the rbi guy. When he is swinging under control he is still a dangerous hitter.1 point
-
He was near it but he absolutely was not vocal. He's moved around a lot so I definitely give him a pass but that was on Yoan. If I'm running down a ball in the left centerfield gap with runners on base, my left fielder is yelling a base for when I come up with the ball. Either cut, 3 or 2. I'm not finding the ball and then finding the runners. That takes too much time. If the play is not in front of you, your teammates should be guiding you.1 point

The author of The MVP Machine was interviewed on Sox Machine. I would give it a listen if you haven't yet, its today's ( June 24th) episode. The interview talked about how the Dodgers and Astros will be dominating the league for years based on how much money they put into their farm teams and approach in development. Verlander and Cole have revamped their careers based on Astros analytics, and the Dodgers have been able to turn around a lot of careers around. Listening to how the Astros' farm teams are dominating at every level (stats wise) it makes me feel awful about what we have outside of our top 3. It also worries me that the Twins have taken notice and have also adjusted their developmental approach to hitting. Look at their at their prospects. It is paying dividends for them so far, and its becoming clear they won't be a one and done type of team. Look at what the Dodgers have been doing with their young players. Now look at us.. Burger, Collins and Fulmer, and how our top prospect had to go to his high school pitching coach for guidance. Its a scary thought to think we have a window of contention, whereas teams that are taking their farm systems seriously will be able to become yearly competitors thanks to a stream of minor league depth. How far behind is our organization really? In Big Data Baseball the book made numerous mentions on how the Sox were one of the last teams to start paying attention to analytics. How much do they believe in them these days and to what extent?1 point

After this week when the Sox are eight or nine under they need to explore all possible trade options for both him and Jose'. However if they don't bring back something decent, then keep them and see what happens in the off season.1 point
