  1. Listen if you make him a DH at age 22, then he's a bust. I'd rather continue risking him in the OF than remove basically all his upside as a player so early in his career.

  2. So the speculation that his arm was going be amputated was premature? Shocking.

  3. I know it's a super unpopular opinion but ever since Eloy returned from injury in May to yesterday, I don't think he was bad in LF

  4. he was a major factor on the 2005 championship team, and if you can't see how bad eloy is then that's on you, wow

  5. Soxtalk gonna Soxtalk. A player comes up and has a good week = he's part of the future. Player comes up and has a bad week = hes awful and will never improve. Obviously not part of rebuild. Classic Soxtalk.

  6. This is only year 3 of a 5-6 year rebuild. The Sox have plenty of time to find a left fielder.

  7. Why does every other team get to hit the new “tightly wound” “less drag” baseballs, and the White Sox have to use the 1906 version?

  8. Thanks for the Cubs wins Ivan, but I Nova want to see you in a Sox uniform much longer

  11. Dr. Google is the best I've ever had. He's caught my cancer early over 20 times now!

  12. Going to bruise my funny bone just to be like Eloy

  13. Yep. How exciting! Where is all the minor league depth in the Sox supposed top 5 farm system?

  14. Actually he’s Goins to KC. Rimshot

  15. Worst case scenario he gets TJ surgery. Even in that scenario it’s not like he’s stuck at DH forever. Look at Otani in LA, guy is a 2 way player and even as a DH full time he is having a great season. He’ll be back to pitching and hitting next year without being rushed. Some people here are so worried about player’s value at certain positions. Eloy can still work on his reads, fly balls, and routes while recovering and still be an OF after a year. It’s not like TJ is endgame for his positional career. Plus he’ll still be able to hit, we love him because of his bat not because of his Engel -esque defense.

  16. Just so someone keeps saying this... Both of Eloy's injuries are the kind of thing that should be limited by effective coaches working with these outfielders.

  17. I agree. This wasnt a case of him going for the ball awkwardly or trying to put his foot on the wall. This was him making a good aggressive play for the ball. If Tilson wasnt there it wouldnt have been an issue. This was a communication issue not a bad outfield play issue like the ankle injury.

  18. Par for the course for you to assume basically the worst case scenario.

  19. Bingo? You agree that Adam Engel might be their best hitter. Jesus fuck what a fan base

  20. Fundamentals win or lose games. The White Sox don't seem to care about them, don't seem to stress them and then when you get games like tonight...outfielders running into each other, guys missing cut offs, errant pick off throws, outfielders taking bad angles / decisions turning hits into extra base hits...nothing is said, nothing is done, no one is held accountable. Same BS we've seen for years. And with respect, please don't give me the "rebuilding" excuse. High school teams know how to do these things, how can "professionals" not be able to? Just sickening tonight to a bad pitcher and a God-awful team.

  22. November I'm waste deep in football and basketball And certainly not thinking about the steaming piece of shit baseball team I love.

  23. And then there will be 69 games left in the season.

  24. Over half the 25 man roster is AAAA filler 3 years into a rebuild. Giolito and McCann are looking more and more like fools gold as the season wears on. 2023 seems pessimistic but there is no way in hell that this Sox team is competing for anything in 2020. I see the rebuild timeline shaking out like this: 2020=last tank year, 2021=get back to 500, 2022=compete for a wild card

  25. Just seems he can barely be bothered to go talk to his struggling pitchers (also known as every other inning under his crappy philosophy)

  26. We are witnessing the bottoming out of a bad bad baseball team. This is setting up to be one of the worse second halves in White Sox history. Everyone from the GM to Manager to players to announcers seems already checked out and ready for the season to be over.

  32. Dodgers I would imagine (without looking too far into it) are going to have a serious 40 man roster crunch this offseason. Something has to give.

  33. 2 part series run by ESPN last week https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27148543/under-knife-exposing-america-youth-basketball-crisis A dramatic increase in youth ACL surgeries seems like it's something that is actually measureable and reportable, as is an increase in injury games lost amongst NBA players.

  34. The first half was obviously a mirage. They should be trying to sell a contender on those first half numbers and trade him for a huge haul.

  35. It would be so damn refreshing to have a completely different coaching staff next season. But I'd be absolutely shocked if any majors changes were made.

  36. 8th. And it’s going to be tough to end up any higher than 7th, there’s like a 6 game gap after that. I’d take 7-8th this year. Supposed to be a deep draft.

  37. The offense being terrible in a lost season isn’t really a good justification to lose an extra year of control on Robert and Madrigal. I hope they wait until April of next year.

  38. Lol...so the rebuild somehow magically ends right when Moncada & Giolito hit free agency. Step yo troll game up bro.

  39. Talent wins more games than anything, and there was very little talent at the plate for the Sox tonight. As for that, the talent level on the field the next few weeks is going to be embarrassing with Anderson and Eloy out.

  40. Imagine a lineup composed of Tilson, Cordell, Jay, Yolmer, and Rondon. Fucking fade me fam

  42. And then be a month late in realizing they were hurt

  43. Nah this should be completely thrown out when judging him

  44. So Moncada has looked like ass for three and a half games? Giolito has a slight rough patch (leagues better than 2018 bad Lucas) and looked fine last night before he got hit by a ball. We don’t even know the extent of Eloy’s injury and it sounds like Timmy will be back soon. Not sure what you’re panicking about to be honest. This has been an absolutely awesome year for the young guys.

  45. 2020 is looking more and more like another tank year with each passing day. The Sox need to basically replace half of their 25 man roster in one offseason. That is a tall task for a GM.

  46. You're back to being all over. You said to let it out play here but minutes before you made this comment, seemingly implying that he'll never be an ace or even a #2. "I can't say that he's anything more than a #3-4 that can pitch like an ace for stretches. He's probably always going to be inconsistent and maddening to people, because you see the ace in him but he can't keep his shit together long enough to actually pull it off."
    1 point
  47. The only answer is no one has any idea what Giolito is going forward. He has a brand new delivery that is going to tax his body in different ways, so he's hit a wall. We don't know if he'll get over it or not.
    1 point
  48. This is so perplexing. You spent a lot of last season telling everyone that Giolito was interesting and may become something good, and props to you for that. Now he's having an all-star season, and as one of his "biggest fans" (which you kind of aren't, if this is your opinion on him), he's now "nothing more than a 3-4"? That's ridiculous, he isn't the 1.5 ERA guy he was in May but he also isn't suddenly a #4 pitcher. Long-term I think he's a very good #2 or low-end #1 but two bad starts (and really just two bad innings, if we're being honest) doesn't take a guy from future ace to #4.

  49. Actually, I shouldn't have said the vast majority of fans were upset about acquiring Shields. The vast majority of fans who were upset about the trade were upset that it was for Shields. A good amount of people were actually in favor of the trade. Some went as far as to say Tatis, Jr. wouldn't amount to anything.
