  1. MLB does targeting advertising - so the better question is - what are you googling? Hahah.

  2. No out pitch. Almost every tool in his arsenal can be fouled off until the batter sees a better pitch to drive somewhere.

  4. The year he was traded he saw a big drop in his peripherals which he luckily offset with the highest strand rate of his career. If Q was a stock Hahn bought at rock bottom and sold at the top. Hahn has clear weaknesses but trading high is not one of them. It was a heist and most Sox fans knew at the time Q was entering the downside of his career, you could see it in his peripherals that year and just watching him pitch. Lost some of that command on his fastball and he didn't have a huge margin for error.

  5. What outliers? He was remarkably consistent in walk, hit, strikeout rates, etc with the Sox, if anything with slight improvements year to year.

  6. We won the Shields Trade: “James Shields got me to go to a spiked curveball, he threw his curveball a little differently than me, and I wanted to try his out,” Dunning said. “When I tried his, it was a lot more effective and sharp. But I wasn’t throwing it consistently until I went to a spike.” “Yasmani [Grandal] switched up the grip on my changeup. Now it’s a lot more effective. The numbers on it show that it’s getting better. Coaches like Everett Teaford, who has been helping me get carry and ride on my four-seam. Now everything is getting put together, and I feel really good about it.”

  7. it's one thing to lose it's another to lose in the manner they were doing it. that's what I think most of us complainers were b****ing about.

  8. Hahn sold high for a perennial 35hr everyday player and a #3 starter. Couldn't pass that up. Quintana was due to regress with some of his outliers.

  10. But he did. And so that isn't something you can hand wave away.

  11. Maybe recently, but overall there's always freaking out whenever a loss happens. The shortest game threads are wins. People go nuts over every loss. I'm not picking on any one person just entertained by the whole concept. I truly think most posters here can't just sit and enjoy a game. But I guess that's just passionate fans.

  12. Quintana is the heavy favorite IMO to be the pitching addition this offseason

  13. Gausman must have pitched well against Padres

  14. McCann is a UFA next year. Sox are probably not gonna bring him back. You don't pay Grandal $73 million and then pay a 2nd catcher big money.

  15. Cordero's jersey keeps shrinking by the game....now it's down to Adult Men's Size M.

  16. I like Moncada 2nd a lot more. He is going to work deeper into counts, and give a guy like Anderson a chance to run.

  17. Seeing the replay, that was down and in too, and he still managed to hit it 400 feet.

  25. Moncada had COVID, showed up 4 days before the season started, and he's played 15 games in the past 15 days. He looks tired and it certainly makes sense. People that were ripping the two off days early just overlooking the grind that this is for a guy who was fatigued.

  26. Everything is obvious in retrospect. Cole Hamels was a washed out veteran pitcher who was TERRIBLE for the Rangers in 2018 and then went to the Cubs and put up a 2.4 WAR in the second half of 2018 for the Cubs. If Shields does that instead of the -2.1. They may have had a chance. Having the White Sox role the dice on the Sale/Quintana/Rodon/Shields/ David Robertson/Nate Jones pitching staff to lead them to the playoffs where anything can happen was not the dumbest move ever made. Throwing in some nobody was meaningless. It didn't work out but the failure led to the rebuild. You take chances in life and shaking your fist at the clouds after the fact really doesn't help.

  28. Huh, weird, I must be missing the quotes where they blow off what he said because he played for the Astros? 🤔

  29. As of right now, 4 teams in the AL Central would be in the playoffs. Obviously it is very early, but that really is fun to see!!

  30. Spot on. It is how they were losing that was so infuriating. 1-0 hard fought losses to a good MKE team is tolerable. Playing like sloppy shit against bad teams is unnaceptable at this point.

  31. It's not like this is unique to this year. Like i said i get it . I'm just not as emotional and the wild swings of emotions during the games is entertaining.

  32. Unless McCann takes a discount deal, which he shouldn’t honestly, he is a goner. He deserves a shot to be the everyday catcher for a team tbh.

  40. Yes to all. Until the next game. Baseball is a game of failure and dealing with it is the hardest part of the game. It's a good thing the posters here arent MLB players. Or maybe that's why. 😁

  41. This is it, plain and simple. The team is losing because the offense has been bad, and the offense has been bad because the middle of the order has been bad. I'm really not sure a healthy Anderson, Madrigal, Rodon, Bummer, etc. would have resulted in more wins over this stretch.
