  1. Denigrating the Chinese Government for what they did is not the same thing as denigrating Chinese people.

  2. Cry me a fucking river guy. That's where it originated from. I said nothing about the Chinese people.

  5. I'm a physical therapist and athletic trainer. I've worked with athletes for 30 years. Worked in MLB, NFL and a couple of Olympic teams and at the training center in Colorado Springs. Most of my research has been with pitchers, runners and most recently triathletes. I try to answer injury type questions as best I can from experience with similar injuries. Its somewhat subjective without knowing all of the information first (most of the time) hand. On a side note the ptatc name is short for having both the physical therapist and athletic trainer licenses. I went to register for the fan duel sports book app today and would you believe it was taken? The nerve of some people.

  6. He’s a perfect fit for what we need and would instantly make us the #1 team in the AL. If he’s willing to accept a one year deal, he should be the #1 priority.

  7. It was a really deep draft and a short spring season so teams didn't get as good a look at players as they would like so they were much more risk averse. Credit the Sox (Kenny Williams) for their testicular fortitude. They said hell with it we're taking the player with the highest ceiling.

  8. You've got it mixed up. Ptatc = Ron. I'm the guy who's the physical therapist

  9. Can’t we appreciate that we have two of the top 4 MVP candidates in the AL?

  10. Glad soxtalk manages to poo-poo another great win for the Sox in an awfully tough pitching matchup by citing the low BA of some starters. Robert has hit a wall recently. He will be fine, he is incredibly talented and is a hard worker. 50ish bad ABs are nothing unusual over the course of a season, especially for a rookie. He still provides value to the team with the glove.

  13. I really do like Bauer but I think this board has blinders on if they think Bauer won’t be frustrating. Hes a fascinating person. He has very low trust and it makes sense when you basically re write the book on what’s possible to develop as a pitcher, and prove the “experts” wrong. But he doesn’t have friendly disagreements. He’s like the friend who responds to any mild criticism with “well your parents didn’t love you”.

  14. Bauer is in love with the art of pitching and would be the best mentor for our pitchers. Look what he does for every club he plays for. Id give him a big contract

  15. Do these salty Twins fans with their dumb „Sox only beat bad teams“ narrative realize that we play the same schedule?

  20. 4 automatic outs with Madrigal who should never have been drafted, and can’t hit the ball 250 next, and Abreu, who has no business batting 3rd in a major league line up, batting 3rd, he should be batting 7th, and Robert, now an automatic out should be batting 3rd, and Grandal catching. Why would Grandal be catching with James McCann on the team? I have learned a lot from gamethreads, all in a year when the Sox have been one of the best offenses in the game. Usually the more pre game complaining, the more runs are scored.

  21. As long as you've decided to make this personal and imply that for your opinion you're better person than I. Let me make my reply also personal. First of all anyone who starts a typed statement with "Dude" loses ALL credibility. Second, you're a official. One of those guys, not good enough to have really played and been part of a real locker room and team and understand what I'm talking about, but you still want to be involved in sports so he becomes an official. LOL, Dude.

  22. I don't think we sign him anyway, but the team's recent incorporation of analytics is a big reason they're so good

  23. Seems like a guy that knows what he wants and wants to compete/win. We have enough leadership (Abreu/DK/TA) that I would love to sign him. That's besides the obvious talent.

  24. Sale had a longer arm swing while Crochet is more of a short armer. His arm path/stroke is very similar to Lucas Giolito's. It's the new Driveline way.

  38. Not really sure what to think here. On the one hand he’s obviously supremely talented, a fact that really can’t be debated. on the other hand, he’s a polarizing personality. But, I don’t think that’s as big of a deal with a starting pitcher. They usually do their own thing anyways. I don’t see this happening because of Coop, and not blaming either guy. I can’t see them meshing well. At all.

  41. Interesting...I don’t usually pull this card, but: I’m in the United States military (which you’ve already invoked...are you?). I was one of the first “asked” to deploy in the COVID environment in May. I was not given an option to opt out, and neither were my teammates. Had I not gone, it’s possible that the person I was to replace would have stayed much longer this his/her standard tour. I traveled on commercial air and military air that might as well have been commercial. Once I arrived, things were probably safer here than in the US, although that wasn’t clear at the time. More importantly, I left my wife and two children at home to navigate a global pandemic on their own. Had we had been given the option to opt out, I think I would have gone anyway...after all, no one volunteers for military service based on the guaranteed safety measures. Would have been a difficult decision though. But I would never, NEVER disparage a teammate for opting out when he/she had the chance. And I damn well wouldn’t talk bad about a fellow service member WHO I DIDNT EVEN KNOW about the decision he/she made. I’m confident you don’t know what it’s like to be part of a team. Because when you’re part of a team, you understand that a teammate’s personal/family life take precedence over the team. Even, when possible, when you’re a teammate in the US military. SO MUCH MORE SO than when you’re a teammate playing a game. I’m so tired of this. So many people think they have a right answer in a situation that doesn’t lend itself to right answers, then they impose their opinion (note: not right answer) on everyone who disagrees. It’s so ignorant, which is so tiring. Chaneling Jason, go puck yourself, assuming you’re a hockey fan. Otherwise...
