Rage quit? I just dont enjoy posting places where people collectively gang up and get personal against people, then get proven wrong and mods delete threads all the while allowing the activity that deserved to be called out. I still read, just not much interest in posting. Im not a fan of special treatment by and for moderators on forums, but it's their board so obviously they're free to do as they please. Thanks for your concern, maybe you can tell me how little I know about basketball some more.5 points

I think the character thing in the HOF description is being misused at this point. I think it is intended to block cheaters on the field and abusive players, not people who are general jagoffs. I suspect there are lots of those in the HOF already. Using the HOF as a judgement of someone's entire life isn't realistic. And could very well change after enshrinement.5 points

Why does every thread on this forum have RagahRagah arguing with someone5 points

I generally dislike change so the fire emoji disturbs me to my core...plus I have no idea when it is appropriately used. Please no more options. ....and are there any actual Trade Whispers-Starting Pitchers?5 points

There is: someone trolling and playing to the crowd for cool points because he simply cannot refute a single point being presented to him. More people need to try being an adult sometime. Fishing for reactions and attention instead of actually focusing on the discussion is for perpetual children.4 points

I don't know why this forum has anonymous likes/laughs/etc. Most forums I go to tell the users WHO liked/laughed at the post. That would be a good forum upgrade IMO. A lot of times I'm arguing/debating someone and they bring up a good point so I "like" their post and they might not know that I liked their post.4 points

I'm going out on a big time limb here, but I THINK people would stop laughing at your posts if you: 1. Stopped the constant complaining about people laughing at your posts. Obviously this will result in more people doing it... 2. Stopped acting like such a condescending douche in most of your posts. *Eagerly waiting for a response about how I inaccurately used "constant" and "most" in my response*4 points

Fuck Stone, that grump doesn’t know shit. At this point Cruz has to sign with us by default as we’re the last contender with an opening at DH if the Twins are truly out. And the fact that @Y2Jimmy0 has confirmed we already made an offer and so has Not Cishek only reinforces that confidence. ALL THE FUCK IN!4 points

There was a thread I made that had a bunch of basketball talk in it. He bumped it up because me and others told him he was wrong about some things (valuing Colin Sexton above Wendell Carter Jr, among other things). He ended up being right, so he bumped it to prove us wrong. I ended up deleting the thread because I didn't want him gloating towards me. (I made it, so I was able to delete it). He thought Tony deleted the thread, so he made a post trashing Tony and then said he was leaving. He hasn't been back since. I feel slightly bad because I liked the guy, but it's his fault for overreacting, lol. Here's his going away post http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?/topic/110142-2020-nba-regular-season-thread/&do=findComment&comment=40389303 points

For the folks that are upset by the anonymity afforded by this board's emoji system, I've got bad news for you about this thing called "the internet".3 points

You definitely have a point. However, a lot of time the people responding with the reactions are trolls (see this very thread). Trolls deserve to be exposed.3 points

How else am I supposed to seek validation? Everyday I wake up, look myself in the mirror, and tell myself I'm going win poster of the day. I plan out my posts to receive maximum engagement. I'm embarrassed when a post gets no reactions. When someone gives me a Loves emjoi that dopamine rush is like heroin. Constantly chasing that high. Don't even get me started when the fire emoji got introduced. Fuck I love reactions.3 points

1. Let them continue making asses of themselves. That's fine. I will not stop pointing out how much it makes them look like one. 2. Simply stating that someone is entirely ignoring an argument they choose to respond to is not condescending. The vitriol coming back is worse. *ironic thing said in asterisks after criticizing one for being "condescending"*3 points

Some information regarding Wainwright in this tweet/chat. Sounds like a resolution could be coming this week. https://mobile.twitter.com/StlCrdsfn11/status/13540596301886546013 points

I know someone already did this, but here are the primary DHs for all the AL contenders: NYY: Giancarlo Stanton TOR: Teoscar Hernandez* TB: Austin Meadows* HOU: Yordan Alvarez OAK: Kris Davis LAA: Shohei Ohtani CLE: Franmil Reyes BOS: J.D. Martinez Unless Cruz resigns with the Twins or wants to play for a team with zero chance of competing, he’s signing with the Sox.3 points

I know this is weird for White Sox fans, since our beat reporters don't break news and our rumors come from sandwiches, but he's like a local version of Passan/Schefter/Woj. I've been reading his reports/tweets for years and he's practically never wrong3 points

just an excellent piece: https://theathletic.com/2345601/2021/01/26/four-white-sox-prospects-are-heading-to-spring-training-to-make-their-mark/ I will just give some bits: - Collins sure sounds like he expects the backup - Sheets has dropped to 225 in an effort to be an outfielder, and also has tried to start selling for power in favorable counts to increase his slugging potential - Burdi is happy to have a real offseason to work on stuff, where he had a familiar issue that sox pitchers have had - his stuff was cutting and not dropping, leading to worse numbers than you'd think for his stuff. Katz tried to get him in sync. - Lambert is back to form and blamed his injury on the start-stop-start-stop last year. I honestly completely forgot just had a strain and wasn't under the knife again. I had just internalized that he was out for a year when it happened. Happy to have him back, he was fantastic in July's "spring" training. Burdi/Lambert could be interesting bullpens. I'd love if Lambert could try as a starter, which he seems like he is hoping he can try. That will be some nice depth. I believe in Lambert more than a Flores, for sure.2 points

I for one am truly shocked that a fiscally conservative organization is not taking more economic risk during a time of unprecedented economic uncertainty.2 points

If they sign Mazara, I will believe the organization only remembers Game 3 vs the A’s and every decision this offseason was because of it.2 points

This is a sneaky good deal, if you prorate his 2020 season, he was almost a 5 WAR player. Of course he’s not that good, but he should still a 2-3 WAR player on a team friendly deal for 2 years. On the Sox he would have made it a lot easier to move Madrigal. Also frankly, it’s still crazy we jumped the gun to pay a worse player $7M at RF.2 points

Did you not follow the team last year at all? We were one of the best teams in baseball despite horrible production from RF, DH, SP3, & SP4, miscues from Nick Madrigal, Moncada being plagued by COVID, Robert going through rookie struggles, Eloy missing time, & Bummer missing most of the season. Whatever we get out of some of these trouble spots is upside vs. last year. We also are stocked with young, talented players who should get better. Your view of things is unrealistically pessimistic and continue to ignore the fact that a lot of our competition has gotten worse. I’m not satisfied with our offseason, but we are still one of the top teams on paper and should be a serious threat for the pennant baring massive injuries.2 points

Hoping for Dallas and Lynn to continue what they are doing. Hoping for one or both of Cease and Kopech to be good this year. Hoping for potentially Vaughn or Yermin to come up as DH and make an impact? Hoping Madrigal makes strides forward with his miscues and injury this year. Hoping for the hot bats in our lineup to continue to be hot. Hoping for injury prone players (Eaton) to be healthy. Hoping that some solid young BP guys weren't a fluke last year. You have to realize how many things will have to go right barring no more moves made.2 points
