  1. I certainly hope Gonzalez isn't the Sox second baseman of the future. Madrigal should be the second baseman of the future. We can all agree that trading Madrigal for a sweaty, super expensive, inconsistent set-up man will likely go down as one of the worst trades in White Sox history. To get Madrigal back from the Cubs, the Sox could offer Vaughn and Kopech, but I'm pretty sure the Cubs would want more than that.

  2. Turn in your Sox fandom now.. you're a fraud. I would've thought you of all people would know EVERY player on that 2005 team that brought us a championship.

  3. They’re just very average since the ASB. Not much about this team screams that it’s a title contender.

  4. Let Leury and Romy battle for second base next year and let the other fill in as an all purpose utility man. Go acquire a legit RF and fill the black hole that has plagued our OF for several seasons. Engel as the fourth outfielder and get a quality backup catcher. Who’s with me!?!

  5. Dunning has an ERA at home of 2.67 and 6.65 on the road. After watching games at that park, it makes me think he would have been mediocre pitching half his games at GRF.

  6. Your argument was over a fictional trade that you don't even know would have happened? When you're getting upset about fictional scenarios you invented in your head, it might be time to step away.

  7. Dunning has been worth 2 fWAR and has a 3.69 FIP in 107.1 IP. Over a full workload that's a 3-4 WAR pitcher. My argument was always that I'd've preferred a package centered around Steiver, and I still think the Sox would be better off having both Dunning and Lynn.

  9. Well, I wouldn’t think it, but someone with a higher opinion of TLR might.

  11. It really feels like this team just shows up for 1 game in a series. After a win they kind of just stop trying like their job is done.

  12. At worst, we go into Cleveland with at least a 6.5 game lead. And that's assuming we lose the next 4 and they win their next 5. If we screw up that badly, we probably don't deserve to win shit.

  13. Hey! J. Shields was a reasonable #4-5 starter, solid clubhouse presence, and worth every bit of $5-6 mil/year. Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr wait..................................

  16. For what he can provide Leury looks good on paper. I’m just not sure I’m comfortable with TLR doing the paperwork.

  17. How the fuck do you not know who Willie Harris is? I always thought you were fucking suspect as a Sox fan, and you've completely confirmed those suspicions. Fraud.

  18. I’m thrilled it was only one game. At first, I heard it was 3 games, and I started to get anxiety TLR would be gone that long.

  19. Respect your opinion and hope you are right. However IMO Tony is no longer performing at a HOF manager level. We are in a different era now.

  20. We may pay a big prize for being so non chalant. about HFA, prioritizing rest/Sunday lineups over getting HFA. Sox have the best home record in the league. We may be over doing the resting thing, particularly if it results in the Sox not going beyond the first series because of not having HFA.

  21. I don't see any reason to start Romy over Leury at 2B in the playoffs. Romy had a nice season, but so far in the majors he's striking out 35% of the time and walking 3%. That's what plate discipline looks like when a guy is still adjusting + slightly overwhelmed at the plate. I think if he saw good pitching in the playoffs it would go very, very poorly.

  22. You call yourself a Sox fan and don't know who Willie Harris is? Delete your account and return the original greg, this one is fake news.

  23. Unfortunately they aren’t going to win the WS and hopefully he retires to the old folks with multiple DWIs home.

  24. Three hits three fucking hits I know this is irrational and has little or nothing to do with tonight, but I hate that LaRussa is managing my favorite team. I have never liked him. He’s been connected to PEDs. I wish he would go away. I know this is my issue, but it takes away from my enjoyment of watching this team. I said I was salty tonight. 😁

  25. 1 run vs a tanking team that has a AAA pitching staff is embarrassing.

  26. Vaughn is the oldest looking 23y old I’ve ever seen. Dude looks like he could be a 50y old Chemistry teacher at a high school.

  33. Leury getting 2nd was huge. That ball is probably a double play with the infield back.

  35. No Robert or Eloy, but no Goodwin either. Still, looks a bit better than our usual Sunday lineup.

  37. It’s not even the second worst trade in Hahn history. Way behind He Who Shall Not Be Named and Semien/Bassitt. Might not be worse than Montas.

  38. The team is missing something this year. They don’t seem to have anyone that can drive the ball to the outfield in situations where there are runners in scoring position. They need someone that can hit the ball to the outfield and move runners along. That’s not going to cut it in the playoffs because there are going to be games where they are down one run and they are going to need to come through with some runs late. I would just concentrate on winning the division first and than go from there.

  39. The White Sox won't pickup the options on Hernandez and Kimbrel this off season. They will use some of that money on another 2nd baseman. Maybe Javy Baez.
    1 point
  40. he won't be on the post season roster, we already have Leury behind Hernandez

  41. Honestly? Probably not. He's had a huge jump this year and put himself on the map, but let's give baseball a chance to adjust to him and see what he's got.

  42. If I'm Lynn, I'm socking every guy in the lineup in the face and telling them to get their shit together. These guys are beyond pissing away wins from him. Fuck this lineup. Pissants

  43. You're right. They'll probably build a new one in like 10 years with money they're not wasting on dumb stuff like schools.

  44. Man, the Sox really don't want Lynn to get any more W's. He pitched pretty well, but if you don't score, you can't win.

  45. Outside of someone throwing a no-hitter, there's really no reason to have any starter go more than 6 at this point.

  47. I don't know why owners wouldn't buy up cheap land in these secondary cities and build a dorm type situation to house players, including cafeteria. They could maintain control of their players nutrition, sleep and activities. The land would also probably increase in value over time.
