  1. I don't understand this...truly. You actively root for them to fail by calling for a HR and then taking pleasure in a possible error. Sucky way to act as a fan.

  2. Usually when Parkman says something, the opposite happens lol. I felt good about our chances when I saw his post.

  3. This is gonna be an unpopular post and I'll get scalded here but is anyone else getting tired of Tim Anderson's bullshit? Between the bad approach and shit defense maybe it's time to get serious and stop trying to be such a hot dog. Maybe he needs to stop running his mouth and put up or shut up. Sorry but it starts with him. Last night's game is unacceptable for this team. Josh freaking Naylor with 8 RBIs. The pitchers can't k everybody. They need to be able to put the ball in play. I know Dallas ain't the greatest but it might be part of the problem. Trying to be too fine and becoming wild. This has to be addressed. Totally embarrassing

  4. Does anyone else expect this squad to fall for the hidden ball trick some time this season?

  5. The fact that he said defense did not cause the loss today is reason enough to bump this thread.

  6. I'm not sure losing games in May to division rivals to make sure players are healthy in October is the best plan.

  7. Silly, everyone knows Timmy is a catcher. Seriously, MLB probably felt the ninth inning was punishment enough for all Sox offenses.

  8. I hear ya....I felt like I had just finished a sack from White Castle.....it seemed like a good idea at the time.

  9. Oh please…. Pulling banks was the right call and if he didnt, as things were clearly falling apart and the all star closer waiting in the wings, he would have been rightfully criticized here. TLR did NOTHING wrong.

  11. Terrific defensive play by Moncada. Last night aside, he's so good charging the ball and throwing on the run like that.

  12. A 2 out run sparked by the bottom of the lineup. It *feels* like the first time all year that's happened

  13. I wish his fun translated to results on the field.

  14. Guaranteed Rate Field is a cashless facility, yet they have ATMs. Shouldn’t they have reverse ATMs where you could throw so,e cash in and out spits a card you can use to buy things?

  16. 1) We b**** about all of those guys all of the time too 2) TA7 is the leader of this team, leaders get singled out when shit goes wrong 3) Most importantly, Tim has committed 9 errors, all in loses, and his errors were heavily responsible for at least three of those. WAR doesn't take context like that into account, if his bat has been worth 1 WAR then he still has essentially cost us two wins with his fielding. Seems pretty justified to discuss him in the bad defense thread.

  17. Lol, yes. 6 innings pitched and 0 ER is 100% doing your job. Funny comment, especially coming from you, since you don't think he should throw over 110-120 innings.

  18. I don't think it has anything to do with paying him. He's been terrible at AAA. There is no indication whatsoever he'd be an improvement over the current 5. If he was dicing up AAA hitters, he'd be here already.

  19. Yeah things are not going to change until an individual buyer comes in and purchases this team and he has 100 percent ownership of the team. Treats this organization as a big market team like it should be and allows his staff to make decisions and do their job instead of butting in.

  20. I had that once....it sucked big time.

  21. That series late 2020 when the Sox clinched and were in first place, then absolutely got destroyed in Cleveland sticks in my head after last night. I don’t know if there is a direct connection but more times that not it seems they shrivel in the big moments vs Cleveland. The hubris of the organisation is on full display. The walking corpse of TLR being forced on everyone, the lack of depth, lighting stacks of cash on fire around the margins while never paying up for difference makers, handing Leury a 3 year deal, thinking Gavin freaking Sheets was a viable RF option and not grabbing any proven bats. The list goes on. The roots go all the way to the chairman and down to the FO. I don’t know how the same people responsible for the mess fix their own mess.

  22. Don't want opposing players going nuts celebrating? Don't suck at baseball. Don't make 4 errors. Don't throw a fucking meatball to a guy who just hit a grand slam. Try scoring a run when you have the bases loaded with one out...twice.

  23. This team is full of DHs, and we're surprised that they're bad defensively? On top of that, Soxtalk wanted to put Burger at 2B because Harrison/Leury are a hole in the lineup. Pollock/Robert/Engel need to be the starting outfield every day they're available. Zero exceptions. Moncada was in his first game back last night so I'm not going to be too hard on him but TA and Abreu have sucked on the field this year and there's no excuse for them.

  25. If the manager isn't responsible for the team playing good fundamental baseball, maintaining focus, and their plate approach, WHAT THE FUCK IS HE ACTUALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR? The TLR apologists are more infuriating than he is.

  28. 12 runs 4 earned…offense scored 9 runs. Why did we lose, Tony?

  29. You pull Banks after an 8-3 lead is lost due to 2 errors and Rosairo hitting a pitch he had no business swinging at. Yeah that'll instill confidence through the ranks. FTLR

  30. Maybe it’s why you don’t keep around the same shitty Front Office that caused you to have to rebuild.

  31. I don't think any of us suffered through 8 years of mediocrity (09-16) then 3 years of rebuilding (17-19) for this kind of performance.

  32. We lose cause Yoan couldn't field a routine grounder. They win cause Ramirez made a diving play to save the game. They straight up look better than us.

  36. In fact, literally every baseball player in the history of the sport has "done less" than Naylor, since he is the first player in the history of baseball to have multiple 3+ run home runs after the 8th inning and the first player in the history of baseball to have 8+ RBIs in a game where all came after the 8th inning. He could have done shirtless backflips off of the visitors dugout and it'd still be hard to argue he hadn't earned the right, and certainly throwing at him would still be as unlikely as it would be fucking stupid. I swear half of these writers write these articles to pressure managers into throwing at people so they can write outraged articles the next day about throwing at people. Or, failing that, ask the manager after the game why they didn't throw and write outraged articles about how the manager isn't sticking up for his team.
