Steve Stone has alluded to Moncada's work ethic lacking more than once. He has more inside knowledge than all of us here. Let's not pretend that this is just clueless fans painting this picture. For me, during a debacle of a season that is working towards being one of the low points in White Sox history, all things considered. It's refreshing when insiders actually speak up, even when it hurts the company line. Johnny Cueto spoke up this week was huge and it ticked off TLR. Too f'ing bad Tony. If we don't see a drastic turn around in the next 7-8 weeks, then people like Moncada and La Russa need to be purged from the White Sox this winter.

I'm pretty sure I heard Hahn on the Score in the last week defending Menechino, saying this is the same guy that led these guys to big numbers in 20 and 21, therefore he is not the problem.

I don't see anything happening this year. But there's enough talent here, where if they shuffle the deck and make some correct changes this winter, this team could take off. Now do I have confidence this will happen? No, but I'll remain hopeful.

As uninspiring as this team is, they're not going to make another white flag trade being only 3 games out. I just hope they don't blow the few good prospects they have chasing a bad season.

The thought of Gallo coming to the Sox is gross. As if this team isn't unlikable enough as they have been. He will somehow find a way to get even worse if he comes here, as most Hahn traded for players do.

I don't disagree. They've cornered themselves in with some bad contracts. I was just pointing out - right now Giolito is a mediocre 3rd/4th starter at best, until he proves otherwise. I'm not sure that he is a barometer for any success or lack of going forward.

If we're hanging on to Giolito for the rebuild succeeding or not, we're probably in trouble. They should of added a TOR starter last winter, but blew that obvious need off. Now the need is even greater.

I guess they could move Robert for Soto. But two things have to happen. The package has to be very light besides Robert. And as you said, don't even think about it unless you're going to lock him up longterm.

I agree with everything you are saying here. But realistically, Jerry's loyalty to his employees far exceeds his loyalty to his team's fans. We all know this. We're most likely stuck in this rut until Jerry's time as an owner comes to end, whenever that will be.

I wasn't in the game thread. But fans booing TLR and wanting him to get canned aren't classless. They are fans that care about their team. TLR has been a very big part of ruining this rebuild (so far). And every now and then I see posters in this forum that have questionable pro management viewpoints and I sometimes wonder if they are certain people on burner accounts? Things that make you go hmmm.

It's nice that he didn't leave Lynn in there to die as he has done more than a few times. Hopefully Lance can build off this start.

The only thing I'll say is. If they are going to go nuts and offer a Vaughn, Kopech, Montgomery +++ package....or whatever it takes. Fine do it. But do it with the intention of offering him his 500 mil request for a contract extension. If ever there is a player worth JR's 1/4 century spending splurge, Juan Soto is the guy. And if you do trade Kopech, you better have a plan to get a good starter in here at the deadline. Because I already an skeptical that the Sox have the rotation to win a World Series, and they definitely don't if Kopech gets moved. So you'd need to save a few of the prospects for a 2nd deal for a starter.

This is just getting stupid now. If Jerry wants to go crazy for the first time since 1996, how about he cracks open that checkbook and throw a ridiculous offer to Aaron Judge this winter. And we get to keep our top 5 prospects, and Cease and Robert. Yay!

Cease absolutely could headline a deal. He's a young ace with 3 more years of control. But obviously the Sox can't move him.

I mean, yeah. Are we feeling good enough about this team that we want to sell our future down the river? Maybe the answer is yes. I don't think the answer is yes from me though.

I'm ok with our catching situation for this year. Seby has been really good filling in lately. Rick Hahn owes this team a big trade win here. Most of his moves (or lack of moves) the last year or two have been failures. It's time to justify that he deserves to keep his job after this season. Because right now I'm not sure that he does. And I used to be a big fan of his. And honestly, I'm not even sure what he can do, because he has cornered himself with a relatively weak farm system that he has built (or not built). Whatever he does though, do not trade Montgomery, Colas or Vera. They can't have nothing in the pipeline. That just doesn't work.
