What do you all think? Two that immediately come to mind are as follows:

    1. Matt Zaleski - Charlotte Knights pitching coach. Embraces the analytics, gets great reviews within the organization, knows all our guys. He seems like an easy and solid choice for the position

    2. Ethan Katz - Giolito's highschool pitching coach. He is credited with helping turn Giolito around and into a top pitcher in the league. Giolito went from literally the worst starting pitcher, to one of the best. He has to get a look. This is my pick, personally.

Any candidates you have in mind?

Zaleski  and katz are u kidding me, I can't believe this is the best they can do

Sorry if I'm missing something but I get the Rangers trading Lynn but why would the Brewers trade Woodruff, a guy with lots of control left unless it was a deal they couldn't refuse?

I like Woodridge but what has he done in his career

More and more I'm starting to think this group of player doesn't need a nice guy as manager. They need a task master, a drill sergeant , someone to demand the best from them. We all love Jimenez potential but he's getting a rep as this happy go lucky idiot. I'd love to see him get pissed off, show some competitive fire. Not an out of control fire but a slow intense flame that drives you ,  consumes your competitive soul. Maybe AJP is the guy for this team.

I agree with you 100%, and you can add moncada, mazara, and mostly the whole team, they play with 0/ zero emotion, with the  talent they have it is embarrassing the quality of Baseball they play day in and day out. I was so looking forward to this team and i am amazed with just how stupid they play as a total team, a tough and smart manager and complete change in coaches is what they must have to move forward.

Callis and Mayo have Sox taking Crochet- Yikes

why should we be surprised If this is the guy they take, in his college career he has pitched in 132 innings and given up 137 hits with a 4.64 era, he is a relief pitcher at best, i would grade their college draft the past 4 years a D at best, I want Abel but we will see what happens but no way should they draft Crochet.

Both IMO. They were all over Jared Kelley this year and loved him over the summer. Jim Callis mentioned them with Bitsko and Abel as well. I just wouldn't bet on them taking the plunge. These opinions are changing and we're obviously a week away but I think Reid Detmers is the selection if available. If he's not, I think it's a prep hitter but nobody should be surprised by a college hitter with their history.

I must tell you that you are one of the most insightful sports writers i have ever read, keep up the great work and Thank you for all the great info you give us fans.

The Sox have the potential to go through the roof this coming season. I think that's why many of us are frustrated with the *so far* poor off-season. It didn't feel going in to the winter that it would be that hard to patch these obvious holes - given how open the payroll was compared to all other teams in MLB.

But there's still time. I mean, if the Sox signed Castellanos and Ryu, then traded Collins for a bullpen arm - the sky would be the limit this season. You could have a loaded lineup and loaded pitching staff if a few things come together.

I like your thinking but they in my opinion are not  signing castellanos  or ryu

Give me Aaron Sanchez, Alex Wood, Jimmy Nelson, Robbie Erlin, Trevor Cahill if the Sox don’t sign Ryu or Kuechel. I’d much rather have the Sox pay a FA than trade prospects as the farm is quite thin and they really need to string some good drafts together to rebuild some depth there.

I hope they sign some intriguing guys to some minor league deals, if they plan on competing they need 10 arms to get through a season having guys like Chris Volstad is not going to cut it anymore.

That will never happen the. White sox do not run their organization like that, they continue to run this organization with zero aggressiveness.

I won't believe this until its announced.  This is just not something that improves the Sox.

Unless the biggest name going back is Madrigal, then sign me up for loving this deal.

Can you please tell me what you are saying in this post?

That twitter chain just shows how miserable White Sox fans are.

On twitter, they honestly appear to be the most miserable group of fans in professional sports and it's nauseating to read.

Your statement is nothing but bs, I have zero interest replying to every comment you make on this site but this i will, the White Sox fan base is no different  than any teams fan base. I see even the Yankees fans cry like a baby when they don't get some player, we have garbage ownership, and garbage management, enough of being the White Sox mouth piece.

Yes, I share your concerns here. I said earlier my biggest fear with this team is their MLB scouting and evaluations. It's the one thing this team has given us no reason to trust in.

This organization has come a long way in the minor league evaluation department and I can say I actually trust their ability to evaluate (not develop, yet) MiLB talent.

You are correct about everything you said in this post except there draft picks have been garbage

I remember when Kuechel was a "meh" option about a month ago. Now if the Sox sign him, everyone will be pleased. Sox should capitalize on this.

I have always wanted him from the beginning, he is a winner and has been with winners for years, you do not have to throw fast to be a winning pitcher, but I would be stunned if he wanted to come here.

I'm not sure Hahn has failed, but things do not look the way that I was hoping that they would look when this began years ago.  The main reasons for this:

-Our hit rate on draft picks (not just 1st rounders) has been abysmal.  Doesn't look like we will have a single above-average regular (or even average regular?) from the '15 draft. The '16 draft is hanging on the ability of Collins to ever be anything after the other once-promising guys have fizzled (Hamilton/Hansen/Burdi...does Alex Call count as once promising?). '17 looks bad too....Lu Gon anyone? .....First rounders of Fulmer/Burdi/Collins/Burger are just a great big bucket of puke

    -  Unwillingness (outside of Cubans) to invest in the top of the international market.  This is something that isn't talked about enough, but what has happened in the international market by this regime is bordering on unacceptable.  They've put themselves at a huge disadvantage by not using spending loopholes other org's have in the INT market.

-Inability to read the FA market. I'm convinced that Hahn & Co thought that the FA market would be much fatter than it was this season, but the glut of extensions signed around spring training last year shifted this market from one of the best ever, to one with 3 big dogs and then a lot of 2nd/3rd tier options that we are accustomed to.

The best correct opinion i have read on this site since the 2  years i found this site, you are spot on with everything you said , they have completely failed in every aspect in running an organization except for making money.
