  1. This game is over. We're toast. This offense is insanely frustrating. It takes 3 damn hits in an inning to cross ONE damn run. NOBODY wants to put one in the gap or (GOD FORBID!) into the seats with runners on in a big situation. Like, F'n A!!!!!
  2. Well, we're all wearing egg on our face. I don't think any of us mind, though. Clean inning by Bummer.
  3. I kinda beat you to it a few pages back, but yeah... it's such a perfect go to for tonight. lol
  4. God... that 0-1 and that 1-2 to Grandal are pitches he would have vaporized last year
  5. Abreu might just be old... and a nothing. I'm not at that point yet with him, but it's going to happen one day soon enough. Worrisome.
  6. With how bad this offense is - every run scored against them seems so devastating. Pathetic.
  7. One hit. That's all we got? ONE GOD DAMN HIT!? In all seriousness, this is unwatchable.
  8. *Tunes in* "2-0... welp. Damn. That's far too big of a deficit for this offense. Hey, honey! Let's go out tonight!" Hello and goodbye. Done watching until they get their shit together. Maybe I'll reverse jynx them and not watch another game.
  9. Good lord. Awful. He cannot hit the broad side of a barn door right now.
  10. Yeah, since our threat in the 5th this has been a snooze fest. Even the energy in the ball park is just half assed, it feels like. Shit, even Benetti is lacking energy I feel like and usually he's a total cheeseball.
  11. This game is frustrating. I'm losing hope in the offense even making another threat.
  12. The 7th highest payroll in baseball is not high when you consider that only half of the league is making an attempt to contend at any given time. I don't think the White Sox are necessarily cheap, but they don't break the bank open either. I wouldn't be critical if they did so for just one superstar. One superstar instead of a "good" "moderately high priced" signing currently on their roster and I wouldn't have a single complaint.
  13. House analogy does not translate to begin with. There's no set amount of houses you "MUST" have. In baseball, there's a set amount of players on a big league roster. The amount you must carry during a given season is 26 (until September, obviously). The White Sox have elected to spread out a chunk of money to fill a certain number of spots with "good" players. When they could have filled one of those holes with a great one. Spending more. They chose not to do that and settled for "good" free agents.
  14. Pretty much stole what I was going to say. Yeah, I would be heated. Vaughn is on the verge of breaking out big time and Montas is very up and down. Along with having durability issues, as you mentioned.
  15. .285/.350/.463 (.813 OPS) over 72 games in A+ and AA (hitting .298 in his AA games) is "well below average"?
  16. Funny, that's exactly why I like Buck. He let's the atmosphere take over and speak for itself. He doesn't make the moment all about himself ranting and raving. Spewing signature catch phrases or calls. Summerall, Scully, etc. Practiced the art that way. Being a great announcer isn't making the BIG call or playing up to the intensity of the moment. It's the little nuances, which I think Buck does well. He also allows the moment to just be... instead of inserting himself into it. To each their own, though. I also have seen him interviewed, and he's really funny/likable. He totally plays along with the "I hate your team" and "I know you hate me" bit. It's funny. He seems like a humble guy with a great respect, passion, and work ethic towards what he does.
  17. I am in the minority that likes Buck. I think he runs a real good broadcast. I was born in 92. So, I automatically associate his voice with "big games". He should be better than the play by play guys on MNF that have cycled through since Mike Tirico (with whom I like as well). I always liked the Buck/Aikman tandem on FOX. I wonder who will be the top NFL and baseball duo now?
  18. Isn't that simply called "negotiating"? I am sort of tired of people acting like there has to be a villain here. Both sides have demands that aren't being met and want as much as they can possibly get. That's how this stuff goes.
  19. When this thread was made, I was 29. I have since turned 30. I think I joined in like 15 or 16, but started posting regularly when we began tearing things down in 17. I've stopped a few different times, just because life gets busy. I'm typically here during the season and pop in for the hot topics when moves are made in the off-season.
  20. You should be embarrassed by comparing this to a lashing out over frustration/anger due to overcooked food by a housewife. The satellite was out? That's utterly sad. This wasn't an angry husband in a domestic dispute with his wife. What in the hell are you talking about? If someone asks you what your opinion is on a hard hit in a football game. Do you respond by telling them it would be an illegal hit in a hockey game? It was a consensual sexual encounter. Where she was asking to be spanked, choked, and to have rough sex. Which is actually pretty damn common. It's actually SO common, that I would hardly even refer to it as a "fetish". There is also no proof that she went unconscious and PLENTY of evidence that she is lying all together. There are people that like all kinds of different things. Hell, there are dudes who like being tied up, gagged, and whipped. But by all means... keep telling people what they should and shouldn't do in bed. Maybe that is what gets you off? It's actually rather creepy that you're so concerned with what consenting adults are into sexually. Literally, take a lap after that post. Hit the bricks, dude. My god. The willful dishonesty on your part is embarrassing.
  21. Not only can't it be proven. If you actually look into the story - you can pretty much prove it WAS NOT sexual assault. You can pretty much prove (or at least any reasonable person would surmise) that she is lying. Look into the conversations they had after. And how desperate she was to see him again. Threatened to destroy his career if he wouldn't come pick her up one night after a game, etc. This chick was whacko and expressed how much she loved being with him. Needed to see him. She was scared, stranded in a town after driving to see him (even though he didn't want to see her). All you have to do is look up the text messages that were released. People love to just say things without looking into details. Good riddance.
