Gio is washed. This could be an epically bad season if this starting staff doesn't get their **** together. There is nothing in the minors that can come help.

How can you not give Burger a real shot at DH?

I would rather they make it obvious what needs to happen at the deadline than being a .500 team
Yea at this point I agree. There needs to be no doubt as far as what has to happen. The problem is with RH and JR making the decisions they will all be wrong.
-
At least this year I was prepared for the Sox being .500 at best. Still it is disappointing to see how truly bad they are again this early in the season.
All the same flaws have already shown themselves. The next thing will be a couple more starters going down to injury and then the wheels come completely off.
I don't even know where you go from here with this team. We all nothing can truly change until RH and JR are gone.

What's up with TA? Was his anger warranted? Missed the game so I have zero context except this highlight that doesnt look too terrible.
TA was yelling at Webb not the umpire. Watch the replay and you can easily read his lips saying to the umpire I wasn't even talking to you I was talking to that mother ****** right there, pointing at Webb.

Like the quick move to Lopez. You play every single game to win. I have lost all faith in Bummer.

The guy can't field, can't throw, can't run, and gets hurt constantly. Time to move on.

What an absolute disaster of a home opener. Totally killed any excitement created by yesterdays win and the split in Houston. Now you have to take the next two against SF and then 2 of 3 against Pittsburgh or this thing could spiral.
-
Your 2 hitter can't be a walking strike out. I wouldn't give Robert too long there if he isn't at least making contact.

What happened to Stone? Out drinking with his buddy TLR and take a fall?

Great and exciting first win. Cease with just amazing stuff. Some mistakes but hey the team battled and came through huge at the most critical time.
Keep in mind this was maybe the best team in baseball they were battling with. Hopefully they can one of the next two and win the series.

I for one really like Romy. If he can take that next step it would be huge for this team. I think it is a great move starting him tonight. He has been swinging the bat really well the last few weeks so why not see if it carries over. Also not a bad idea to let OC watch this one, maybe get him in as a ph later in the game. I'm sure he will be nervous as heck and it might help to just watch this first game to calm that somewhat.

Very pleasantly surprised by this move and it has nothing to do with Leury personally. It does however have everything to do with him as a baseball player. He brings nothing to the team to make them better. And maybe, just maybe the Sox finally have a Manager that will put winning above everything else.

Listen this teams chance at success this year is all on the shoulders of the guys who were expected to perform last year and didn't. And there are a lot of them. That doesn't include Colas. But if those guys who were expected to perform well do so this year then the addition of Colas could be big. I'm just saying the kid should not have any pressure put on him.

Anyone who is upset with this move is just mad at the world and will never be happy. There is no downside to this. He is an above average glove and has some pop in his bat and can also play short. Also a good clubhouse guy.

I had lost all hope. This hire at the least has given me that hope back.
He said all the things I wanted the new Manager to say. He recognizes the most glaring issues with this team. Can he fix those issues? We will find out.

When the Yankees lose this series to Cleveland Boone will become available and the Sox better not screw it up and jump on him immediately.

If there ever was a .500 team this Sox team is it.

Nice to see Bill Gates at the game again. 2nd row in the gray shirt.

Does McKenzie throw more than 10 pitches this inning?

Talk about crapping the bed, the Twins already behind 3-0 in the first. About to lose 4 out of the 5.

As if they haven't tortured us enough this season of course when it's too late they are going to hit 10 HR's today just to remind us what we all expected to see all season long.

Actually there is nothing great about the city of Cleveland as Joakim Noah once said.
Yet what Cleveland does have, is a first place baseball team run by a tremendous owner, front office and field manager.
Check out some of these amazing and yet disgusting facts about the Cleveland team this season:
They have the 27th payroll in MLB baseball with 66 million.
This team currently has 25 of 28 players on their roster under 30 years old.
They lead the league in bringing up rookies this season. They brought up 14 rookies from the minors this season.
The Guardians will be the 5th club in MLB history to have a winning record through 120 games while having 14 rookies on their roster.
Even after taking up the most rookies of any team this year, they haven't depleted their farm system. Before the season started they had a pre-season 12th ranked farm system. Even though they brought up several rookies, they still kept developing all their young prospects in the minors during the season. With the most recent updated farm system ranking, they now have the #3 ranked farm system.
Having all this youth and rookies with a such a small payroll is really astounding. The fact they are currently 11 games over 500 and kicking the crap out of the Sox, is a true testament to the fact you need a great owner, front office and manager to be a highly successful winning baseball team. Obviously our arrogant, stubborn and ignorant owner is completely clueless on these facts.
I just don't see this sad state of affairs for the Sox to ever have a chance to be successful like the Dodgers, Yankees, Astros, Mets and Braves, until we get a new owner, or Jerry turns it over to his son like he did with the Bulls.
I hate the Guardians and as a Sox fan I'm totally pissed and jealous. I can't wait until a new GM and owner run this team. It can't be soon enough!
Yup.

This team in no way shape or form deserves to be in the playoffs. This season just needs to end.

You can only laugh now. This could be an epically bad pitching staff. Alberto will have more innings pitched than any pitcher on the roster.
