  1. I need only one at-bat from each Rondon and Sanchez to again question why either of them is blocking Danny Mendick from even getting a chance.
  2. Wait, they didn't send you a home plate shaped seat cushion? I got mine! I felt appreciated!
  3. No accountability in the entire organization. Yet we all still watch all the games, pay money for tickets, and spend time away from family to talk about it. Who are the real idiots here? (Yes, thumb firmly pointed at myself)
  4. Yet again ... Jose Ruiz sent down after tonight's game. The only people in the entire organization who are held accountable are the young relief pitchers. Not the GM, not the manager, not the hitting/pitching coach, not the drug-using catcher, not the brother in law, not the gatorade boy, just the relief pitchers (and Ervin Santana).
  5. I am not even sure my comment was intended to directly imply it is on Eloy as much as it is on Todd Stiverson, Rick Renteria, etc. What is being done from a coaching perspective to help further develop the player? Other teams seem to be just fine at helping their young prospects reach a high level immediately, or at the very least ensure their rough patches are minimal. Why does it seem that every White Sox prospect needs 2+ years to "go thru the learning curve"?
  6. Some of the swings these guys have taken tonight, make it look like this is end of September and they just want to get the season over with and go home. Non-competitive. I don't care about how big the sample size is for guys like Eloy. When you can't see any noticeable adjustments over the course of 20+ games, that is a cause for concern.
  7. Yikes ... Moncada & Eloy Our record when this road trip over will be the least of our concerns.
  8. This was talked about earlier today, but at this point, there is no reason to not start to break it up and see what else is out there. I'm not sure why Mendick is not given a chance at this point. What is the point of keeping him down in AAA any longer? If he can't cut it, there is nothing hurt by playing him for the rest of the season. If he can, he is still 25 years old, maybe a late bloomer. Palka and Collins both should be here as opposed to Castillo and Alonso. It drives me nuts that the only people held accountable, in the entire organization (on-field and front office) are the young relief pitchers (and Ervin Santana).
  9. Idiotic pretty much defines just about every on-field decision that has been made for a while now.
  10. This will turn into a 9-0 loss. Ugly! Hey, tomorrow is a new day (just with Castillo and Alonso back in the lineup)!
  11. People on here yesterday thought the people saying 2 wins on this road trip were being to "negative". LOL. This is the have's vs. the have not's!
  12. Yeah, possibly have to add in a lower level prospect to make it happen, but again, they do not use Almora near enough to say he would be off limits for maybe the only piece they are missing this season. I agree that Robert is the future, but would their be anything wrong with having 2 "CF's" playing somewhere in the outfield? Considering our OF defense at the moment, I'd be good with both of those guys covering ground out there.
  13. I mentioned this to a few people this morning... Trade Colome for Almora Jr. & Ian Happ Almora can play CF for us for the next at least 3 seasons, moving Robert to a corner. Happ can play 2B until Madrigal is ready, then can bump to a corner OF moving Eloy to DH. The Cubs aren't using either of them enough anyway, so I don't know what their logic would be in balking at it.
  14. We are going to see Covey vs. Verlander and Nova vs. Cole on Tuesday/Wednesday, so those are almost sure losses. Lopez vs. Berrios on Friday, I would say that doesn't look promising. Our best chance might be tonight against Peacock, not sure how good of a pitcher TBA is, but hopefully he'll keep us in the game. I agree, if we can go 2-5, I would actually be willing to call it a good road-trip.
  15. Well some people seem to think Todd Steverson has done a great job and is the best hitting coach since ______________. Give me a break! Between Steverson, and the idiot putting together the lineup, I'm actually surprised those numbers aren't worse. Now, there is no secret that their isn't enough talent in that dugout to win any division, but maybe playing guys like McCann more than 2 of every 4 games, maybe we would have a better chance. Especially when guys are playing at a high level at the present moment. But keep putting Alonso and Castillo 4-5 its worked so well! Everyday I question whether this guy could successfully manage a tee-ball team.
  16. Wait a second ... If we are giving credit to Todd Steverson for the improvement of Tim Anderson, Yoan Moncada and James McCann, where is the criticism for Yonder Alonso? He came to the White Sox as a career .265 hitter with a .745 OPS, currently he is hitting .170/.615. Welington Castillo, came to the Sox as a .260/.745 (ish), currently .167/.606. Adam LaRoche and Todd Frazier (aside from Home Runs) are two others off the top of my head that came to the White Sox and were below their career numbers as a hitter. Then when are we considering the tremendous regression for Daniel Palka? Couldn't do anything to improve Adam Engel, etc. I am not saying he doesn't deserve some praise for Moncada, Anderson and McCann this season, if he indeed did the work with them to improve. I am just saying there have been equal to more 'misses' by the guy than 'hits'. So, to answer the question, in my opinion, he is the best hitting coach since, the last one, Jeff Manto.
  17. Is a day like today rock bottom? Have we been to rock bottom yet?
  18. So, to be clear ... we have been really hurt today by two players, hitting in the bottom of the order, that entered the day with a .183 and .192 batting averages.
  19. Well, this start has the feel of a 7.2 inning gem by Cy Cashner.
  20. You are absolutely correct, we still aren't good! However, are we 'better' because we are 'better', or are we 'better' because we have played a pretty weak schedule to this point? Last season, to this point we played teams like Houston, Oakland, Seattle, St. Louis. This season we have had 6+ games against the Royals, Tigers and Orioles. So, aside from seeing some individuals like Anderson, Moncada, Lopez (the last few starts) being better, I am not sure I am comfortable saying the team is better. That said, those individuals are the ones we need to get better if we are going to be competitive beginning next season.
  21. Maybe the most disappointing loss of the season. A 4-0 lead, against the worst team in the AL, with your "Ace" on the mound. I'm thinking its time someone tells Carlos Rodon's wife to keep her mouth shut on Twitter, because your husband's pitching is bad enough. He is way to inconsistent to get any benefit of the doubt. I'm hoping someone is looking for a #4 or #5 starter in July and we can attempt to right this wrong.
  22. Long time listener, first time caller ... As frustrating as this is, and we all know its frustrating. We simply don't have enough good players. Relying on dudes like Nicky Delmonico, Ryan Cordell, Yolmer Sanchez, Adam Engel, etc. is just flat out bad. This will be a 8-23 (ish) stretch because we just flat out aren't good at baseball.
