  1. Dyson seems like a wasted roster spot as his purpose 99% of games is to be a pinch runner. We have plenty of guys who can do that even if they are not quite as fast as him. I would rather have another player up like Yermin which would allow both Grandal and McCann to play in the same games more.
  2. Madrigal sounds like Magical so: Nicky Magical
  3. He turned around to complain about the strike zone that at bat not specifically the final strike.
  4. I agree, the debate doesn't even need to be between McCann and Grandal. Get rid of EE, call up Yermin to be backup catcher. That would also allow Yermin to get some looks at DH.
  5. It was harder than it looked. It was a quick low throw and Cordero was so close he didn't have much time to react to it.
  6. They should call up Yermin. That would allow him to get some chances at DH while also being the emergency catcher.
  7. People said this same thing last year and now he has been doing even better. I don't care what his career numbers are, I look at what he has been doing with the White Sox. The numbers McCann has been putting up with the Sox he has no history of doing with Detroit. If his first half last season was just a fluke then he wouldn't be doing so good this year. I could just as easily say his 2nd half numbers last year are the fluke and his great hitting is the real McCann because that is what he has been doing the majority of the time he has gotten to play. By focusing on his 2nd half last year you erase what he has been doing the majority of the time he has been playing with the White Sox.
  8. Yea but McCann has a .420 OBP, does he deserve to keep getting benched in preference for Grandal? White Sox spent a lot on Grandal and just because that they are likely to keep giving him more playing time. Sadly, it seems we spent a lot of money on an area where we already had a great player who wasn't just a fluke that many assumed. I don't expect him to keep a .420 OBP and almost 1.000 OPS but clearly McCann has upped his game since he joined the White Sox.
  9. Just because someone doesn't get a hit doesn't mean they are injured. He was hitting a lot better before he got a few days off.

He also put Cordero in again when the game was still in reach. Stone called him out on that too by saying something like "didn't think we'd see Cordero today and now he's given up a 2 run homer". Why is he putting in Cordero every game?
  11. Why does Ricky keep batting Yasmani so high? Putting together the best possible line up isn't as hard as Ricky makes it seem. Abreu and Jimenez should be batting 3 or 4.
  12. I am not reading anything that says he wanted to play for the White Sox. I am sure who would have been fine playing for the Sox but just because he talked to Tim Anderson doesn't mean he wanted to be traded here.
  13. I will keep saying it until it happens- Yermin Mercedes, the guy who raked in AAA last year and was the best hitter in spring training.
  14. McCann's new normal is not his historical normal. People said the same thing last year and now he has come out of the gate even better this year. Even if he cooled off towards the end last year his superior playing is not a fluke.
  15. So when do with think about playing McCann more considering how much better he has been than Grandal? He should at least be DHing more.
  16. Yermin would cure this issue but sadly both Sox fans and the management don't recognize this.
  17. Dunning has been looking even better than he did in the minors. He may have come back from Tommy John an even better pitcher than he was.
  18. If Kopech or Cease came up looking like him they would be hailed as the second coming but Dunning wasn't a prized prospect so people seem to be downplaying how great he has looked. It is especially amazing he is doing this at the start of his career. Usually starters take even longer to develop success in the majors than hitters. Through his first 2 games he has given up only a couple hard hit balls.
  19. Our brief look at Dunning he looked better than all are other young starters except Gio(who took years to get good). We don't even know what we have with him and people want to trade him away? He could have gotten even better after Tommy John.
  20. A better question is why does Ricky keep batting him 3rd? Either Abreu, Moncada, or Eloy should be batting 3rd. Yaz should be behind those guys.
  21. You people are really ready to bench Madrigal because a bench player has had a decent stretch of games. Mendick is just another Leury or Yolmer when he is good.
  22. Projections don't mean anything with such a limited sample. Leury would be on pace for one of the top players in baseball if we projected his WAR prior to his injury.
  23. After seeing Dunning's debut I am not okay with trading him right now either. He may have upped his game and we still don't know what we have with him.
