If he’s been pitching injured there needs to be an inquiry.
-
His walk year is 2021. Probably before the team is very good.

I’ve had enough of the Carlos Rodon experience. We could have gotten something for him at the deadline. He didn’t fit the timeline anyway.

Race for the worst 2018 record (Top 5 pick) again

Magic # is 1. A Sox rainout tomorrow also clinches 3rd pick. There is some rain in the forecast tomorrow. -

As an example , after Sunday the Sox are 62-100. The Marlins are 61-100. That gives the Marlins a worse record. But if they had to play the makeup game, they might win it and then be 62-100. And here the Sox would gain the tiebreaker. Now that can’t happen. Of course if both teams have 62 wins after Sunday, then the Sox would get the better pick. -

1-6, clinches 3rd spot 2-5, very likely 3rd spot 3-4 , 50/50 3rd spot 4-3, probably 6th. Tigers still worry me the most. -

The Marlins would lose the tiebreaker to all of the Sox, Tigers, and Padres. It’s possible they could jump 3 spots by not playing that last make-up game. -
Patrick Corbin may be a Top 10 pitcher in baseball, with a pretty good track record. The 30 year old will probably get $125-150M contract. Not sure ownership will go there.

Big 4 game series, Royals at Detroit starting tonight. -
I see they have Collins as 1B. They must like his bat to play at 1st base.

I hope so. Just doesn’t sound right percentage wise. -

Too bad. That could cost us a draft spot. -

The Marlins have a rain out rescheduled for Monday October 1 with Pittsburgh. Will they play that game solely for draft implications? If not the Sox will lose the tiebreaker edge with Miami. -

The Sox got robbed in the Swarczak trade. -
Anyone for the automated strike zone?
-
To have the service time clock stopped, Kopech would have to be sent down for “performance” reasons. Spending time in the minors as a rehab project doesn’t stop the clock. Very likely the Sox will nuance this grey area and get that lost year of service time back after 6 weeks.

State of Emergency declared in Maryland this weekend. 3 game series with the Orioles could be washed out. -
No. I think 2018 doesn’t count towards a full year. 2019 would be his first service year.
-
Same with Schwarber too. Cubs lost a year.
-
I think the Sox can send him down in 2020 for a few weeks which would stop the service clock and the team can get the year back. that would be 2025.
-
Kopech should have taken an MRI before coming up. His velo was down in Charlotte.
-
I believe 2019 will count towards service time
-
I’m fearful there may be a rained-out game that won’t be rescheduled. That would cost the Sox the tiebreaker status they have against every other team in the draft order (except Detroit).
-
Eloy’s camp is giving bad advice. Will they pay him $60M if he blows out his Achilles next at bat. Any 21 yr old should take guaranteed money. He’ll have another crack at it when he’s 28.

2021 Rotation - Who Will Still Be in It
Baker replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I wouldn’t trade Rodon this off-season. His value isn’t that great what with his injury history, Arb compensation, and weakish peripherals this year. He’s only 1.2 fWar this year in 93 innings. Better to sell high next July if he’s pitching well, yet the team is still floundering.
