  1. The deal for Maeda feels weird by the Twins. I wasn't as high on Gatreol as some, but Maeda isn't exactly a work horse (probably has a similar innings cap) and while he's been effective, its been in a very unique way due to creative usage by the Dodgers. He's a nice piece, but it seems like the Twins gave up a lot and actually may have hurt their roster 2-3 years from now for a, hopefully, short term upgrade. The Twins obviously didn't like him as much as the market.
  2. Report is Friedman had been directed to stay under luxury. When they traded for Mookie and price, they had to move a money piece. Due to the market being settled with outfielders signing, the dodgers likely had little leverage and moved joc for less than they initially wanted because of the mookie/price deal.
  3. Lol. In the east that means nothing anyway since the 8th seed is 6 games under. Even considering that, they arent even a playoff team. The team is a disaster.
  4. Odd? Everyone here was painting some rosey picture of the Bulls future last season, and I articulated a very different opinion that was personal attacked and ridiculed. Now people still want to remain stubborn and say the Bulls are still fine? Amazing. I guess this is why that team never holds anyone accountable.
  5. They were awful with Laurie. You must be watching a different team.
  6. Are you sticking to WCJ was a better pick than Sexton or MPJ? My point on WCJ remains - he's a role player with a limited ceiling on a good team. He has no star potential and didn't when they drafted him. It's not at all what this team needed. This thread was a year old and the post you are quoting was a year old. Amazingly, most thoughts I had in this thread were dumped on and nearly everyone one of them - one year later - has come to fruition.
  7. People really lambasted my position on the Bulls being bad and having little talent and future promise last year; furthermore, people thought the assessment of Carter vs Sexton was awful because 20 year old Sexton had struggled to adjust to the NBA life on a bad team. There was a lot of optimism in this thread last year about the Bulls - sans me - some even said they had 4 good players (absurd). I'm glad most have come around - this team is bad, and Lavine is the only player worth a shit. This front office is only outdone by James Dolan at this point. The Bulls had chances to take the right guy too - this has not been driven by their draft position - but they've decided to evade risk and accept mediocrity and trash as if they were supplementing a talented Core and not building one. Sexton and MPJ were great options for the Bulls; instead they went with a limited ceiling big who was never going to be a star in the NBA. I'll add that both Sexton and MPJ need to further prove it and develop - Sexton especially, who has shown great improvement throughout this year, but needs to sustain it for longer and continue to develop. I would guess most Bulls fans would rather bet on his further progress than WCJ ascension. Hopefully the people will stop insinuating that this front office drafts well due to a couple good grabs a decade ago. This team drafts like trash, and doesn't develop anyone. This is a hopeless organization.
  8. Yes, the Bulls are idiots and they don't draft for ceilings - which is something a contending team may do. The Bulls aren't contenders, and they need upside. Sexton was risky, but the guys upside was fantastic. MPJ was the best player on the board by a lot.
  9. Wait, how did Damian Lillard not win WC POM? That's the biggest joke I've ever seen.
  10. Sexton >>> WCJ Sexton always had the tools; this past month he just had will be better than any month WCJ has in his entire career. Sexton is 21 years old, and he was an elite playmaker/scorer on the level of other NBA stars. Last month, Sexton graded out as the 14th best player in the league for that period of time. That's the ceiling and potential he has. He has become much more efficient in one year; the skies the limit for Sexton. He'd look nice next to Lavine - as would MPJ obviously. Instead the Bulls took a limited center. Edit; sexton should say 24th not 14th.
  11. Main logo isn't even centered; jeeeeeeesuss. Should have just tried to put a small version of the SOX logo on the hat of the player.
  12. Who the fffff would want to buy that garbage? Not sure how you screw up a logo that has 2 great logos as a part of it, but MLB found a way.
  13. Funny thing is I've always preferred Longenhagen to Kiley, so for FG's this really changes nothing for me.
  14. Supposedly Ozuna turned down 3 years 50 million to "bet on himself." Seems pretty dumb but what do I know?
  15. Van Vleet was 138 in the nation. Certainly a nice get for a MM, but not a huge recruit. I was at ISU at the time. I had to watch Wichita beat ISU out of a bid like 97 years in a row. Osiris still has nightmares.
  16. Absolutely. Theyve been one of the fifteen best programs in america for a decade. Marshall is the best coach in the country. They have some of the best facilities in America (Koch mania). They have one of the five best records vs tourney teams since 2011.
  17. Marco Gonsales signs 4 year extension with M's; hopefully this means we won't have to hear about dumb Marco trades any longer.
  18. Well it is made up, because Wichita has been better and they have had zero top recruits: For example, you say Garza was 111 but that's higher than anyone Wichita has signed since 2010 but for Shamet. It hasn't been checked, verified or analyzed in anyway so I'm not sure how it can be said confidently. Since 2010, Wichita State has 1 top 100 recruit: 2015: Shamet (86) and two Top 150 recruits: 2019: Etienne (117) Sheff (118) In that time, Wichita State has a combined record of 297-80 with 1 FF and 6 trips beyond the first game. Now, Greg Marshall is the best coach in the country and it's not a shot at Fran to say he hasn't been as good as Greg, but Iowa certainly has not won more with fewer top 100 recruits than anyone in America. That award goes to the Shockers and who should be the Bulls next head coach but we know it'll never happen.
  19. This is a made up caufield stat if I've ever seen one. Wieskamp was a top 45 recruit in America. Garza had about 1000 offers. McCaffrey (who sucks) was a top 100 recruit. The NCAAB world of shady business takes care of a lot more than just the McDonalds All-Americans. Everyone is being paid. I'd say Wichita easily has the fewest top 50 recruits of any program that has consistently been very good for the past decade. Early was the biggest signing they had during their peak years.
  20. I'm pretty sure the team only gets a percentage when they're the ones selling the tickets, no? I don't think the team gets percentages of resold (secondary market) tickets. Teams would be double dipping then. I know there was some backlash of teams selling things straight to secondary markets and getting the benefit of the inflated costs without ever allowing people to buy them at retail.
  21. they're not - they're selling tickets. You just can't technically say that.
