  1. Nassir Little just went to the Trail Blazers at #25. They all think this is a steal cuz Little is top 10 talent. Bol Bol is dropping cuz he will get pushed around in the NBA. 7’2” and 208 pounds? 😂
  2. Little dropping like crazy. Bulls have the 32nd pick too right? Any chance to trade up and grab White’s teammate?
  3. Agreed, the $30 million dollar player is almost always more productive than three $10 million dollar players, especially the way Hahn picks his free agents.
  4. Yep, but where is this going with still zero star players?
  5. A reason to waste at bats on an aging veteran on a stupid one year deal.
  6. It’s futile to question stupidity. And yes, Renteria should be fired and replaced with a competent manager. However, his eventual replacement will likely be Omar Vizquel, whether that’s a good thing or not.
  7. It was 1B/DH Dan Johnson and Farmer’s line was hilarious. I believe Johnson hit a couple homers to win a game late in the 2012 season and Farmer yelled, “He’s on the team for next year!!!” which was a ridiculous assumption at the time that did not come to fruition. Johnson played a total of 14 games with the Sox. The Score still clowns him with the audio clip to this day.
  8. Only if he’s auditioning for fourth outfielder next year.
  9. A 31 year old A.J. Pollock got a 5 year deal last offseason (5th year is a player option). I don’t think it’s crazy to think a 29 year old and better player in Ozuna will get 6 years.
  10. Apparently neither do Jerry, Kenny, and Hahn. Because they refused to guarantee $25-$30 million a year to both Harper and Machado at the back-ends of their deals.
  11. Fine, we agree on Rendon and Cole. Not going to happen. We disagree on Ozuna. I agree that they could afford him but they will go the cheaper route and sign Puig. And probably even market the Cuban aspect. They will also re-sign Abreu to further the Cuban connection. I don’t see the Sox signing Bumgarner either but both Wheeler and Wood are realistic starter options. I won’t even venture to guess on signing relievers. But I agree with Parkman that one or two of Hahn’s “the money will be spent” moves will be locking up Giolito and/or Moncada long-term.
  12. And every top free agent or impending free agent player that was signed or extended last offseason received more than 8 guaranteed years.
  13. A team that truly wants a franchise player isn’t worried about guaranteeing years 9 and 10. How long did Harper, Arenado, and Trout sign for? If the Sox are too worried about the final two years of a contract that every other young top tier free agent gets guaranteed, then they had no chance to sign the guy to begin with.
  14. “Willing” means nothing to me. Is either guy a White Sox? Even when there were limited suitors? Nope. ”If my aunt had balls, she’d be my uncle.”
  15. Hahn couldn’t afford a $25-$30 million dollar franchise player last year that would still be in his prime for the start of the expected competitive seasons? Does Hahn not have payroll projections for years into the future at his ready, to know that one of these two guys could easily fit into their payroll moving forward? Where will you move next when I am proven right? 😉
  16. But we had more than enough room last offseason and going forward to add a $25 to $30 million dollar per year player salary. The Sox publicized their damn interest in both non-stop and failed to land either guy with minimal teams interested in both guys. History supports me. Look no further than last year.
  17. End of last offseason — “The money will be spent.” Hahn extends Eloy. End of next offseason — “The money will be spent.” Hahn extends Giolito. What is so crazy about what I am suggesting? History, and specially last offseason, is on my side. I don’t see much in Sox history that would make me think your expectations will occur.
  18. That’s where my last sentence comes into play. Hahn will mention needing to keep money available to potentially extend their homegrown players.
  19. Sox will need a RF, they have been interested in Puig in the past, and he won’t cost as much as Ozuna.
  20. Re-sign Abreu, sign Puig, Wood/Wheeler, and some relievers. Possibly extend McCann. They will go more quantity over less players of quality as is their MO. Tier 2 and 3 free agents. They will also attempt to extend more of their young players and use this as an excuse for not spending more money. Hahn has already used this excuse so don’t get mad at me.
  21. There is so much hilarity here, I don’t know where to start. 😂
  22. I’ll be around to tell you I told you so. 😉
