If we all agree this team is going nowhere, even in this incredibly weak division, then help me understand why we are not trading Cease? Let’s don’t kid ourselves and think that Cease is Bob Gibson. Getz should be on the horn with Baltimore and ask for one of their top 5 prospects, one who’s from 6 to ten and another who’s from 11 to 15. i’m guessing all 3 of these players would immediately become a top 7 prospect in our organization

Does Baltimore have enough talent to take both Cease and Roberts? With Boras controlling Roberts, it’s time to start thinking of trading him also.

what i can see happening with the Sox is that all these free agent pitchers start signing with all the different teams and the market for Cease drys up. with such, contact the orioles and make a deal

I see no reason why to wait, the teams who are going to spend the money, will do exactly that, they will find a pitcher. Getz should have every team give their best offer and go from there

So are we at a point where the teams going after Cease have made their offers and Getz and his staff our deciding what if any of the offers to take?

i just don’t think this is the time to trade Eloy, i’d prefer they roll the dice and see if he starts the season out red hot, then trade him at that time. his trade value is probably at its all time low at this time, the current return package wouldn’t be good.
