  1. Yick! As much as I hate what's going on I still want to win every game.
  2. Now that Eloy is back it is hard to get him, Abreu, Pollock, Sheets, and Vaughn in the same lineup. But yeah, as things are now, presumably you want Vaughn to be bumping Pollock and Sheets more often than not. If you were wondering, the Guardians only have one left handed pitcher. So not a lot of obvious opportunities for a pinch hit either.
  3. Moncada has screwed up pop ups in the past. So I understand why you'd be quick to blame him. But on the ball with Seby the other day I'm pretty sure I remember being able to hear Yoan calling him off on the broadcast and seeing his lips move.
  4. Need more than one game to say we have rediscovered the long ball.
  5. Why wouldn't he play today? Sorry if I missed something in yesterday's game.

    2022 Catch All

Just going to comment as the resident Canadian before this thread is closed… In other countries rudimentary gun safety rules are not controversial or political. It’s the equivalent of reasonable speed limits in a school zone.
  7. That was one of the most disappointing losses I have ever experienced as a fan, and I've been on Soxtalk since before we won a WS. That Moncada brainfart was shocking. That's something I expect out of my novice Softball teammates.
  8. The heck is going on with Bummer? Any updates?
  9. If Joe Kelly is solid the rest of the season I don't really take issue with this.
  10. How do you have a first base open, but decide to pitch to guy, leading to a grand slam...? 😂
  11. It's just hard to imagine a team getting their "swag" back when we seem more worried about addressing all of the ouchies. By no means am I saying I am tougher, I get hurt sitting at my desk somedays... But sheesh... Got to hope the training staff actually knows how to get these guys healthy and confident enough in their bodies to play confidently. But I don't see evidence of our ability to do that.
  12. Fair, I just don't think (considering how much else TLR already screws up) that we need to lose it because the guy doesn't start his first game up. He was called up because we are in a pinch. It's not because we think he will be the world's next great infielder immediately.
  13. This isn't the first time Luis Robert has inexplicably not taken extra bases in his time with the Sox. It is quite strange. He really just seems to dog it sometimes, or totally forget what he is doing.
  14. If we're going down this road... Luis Robert and AJ Pollock both had hard flyouts earlier in the game. 397 (.860 xBA) and 388 ft (.720 xBA) respectively. The expected BA on both Houston homers was .210. Yikes.
  15. If you don't want Yoan, you must not want to win this season. We are almost dead last in walks. Can't make up for that with positive attitude and fun spirit.
  16. The biggest problem with this team is that we don't seem to use even the most basic analytics tools. Ozzie might actually make that worse. No.
  17. Moncada saw a lot of pitches last night, which was a bit encouraging. But he also seems to be fouling off a ton of pitches.
  18. Why has Burr pitched less than 10 innings this year across minor and majors? Seems a bit strange. Did I miss an injury?
  19. I have yet to see proof of anything... just a bunch of jibberish on Instagram. But maybe I'm just an old man now...
  20. The text in that tweet is bordering on jibberish... I feel like we got almost the exact same rumour last season, with the same crappy quality. Have no idea how to rate the credibility of it. Maybe not worthy of Soxtalk? Just saying.
  21. This is a good post. This team is going nowhere if we are 30th in the league in walks. I feel like we need to keep running him out there until he figures it out. This one day off, one day on stuff probably isn't helping. Unless there is something bothering him, or going on, that we are not aware of.
  22. Sousa is not good. So point taken... But I remember Steve and Jason saying that Sousa falls off the mound to the third base side. So making it back to first is hard for him.
