    Fuck MLB owners. All 30.

The CBA already calls for teams to spend the revenue sharing threshold, which was $91M in 2019.

The current CBA doesn't mandate anything. A salary floor actually would. A luxury tax to redistribute the vast difference teams like the Dodgers make compared to someone like the Rays is absolutely needed. The NBA has one and the NFL has full revenue sharing.

$180 million won't be accepted though, probably need to be closer to $225M

Didn't watch the game or see the play. Happy for the Sox blowout, scared for Bassit.

I said it once I'll say it again, pitchers need to start wearing helmets. Balls are coming back in excess of 100 mph. We don't need a death on the field to make it happen. Do it to prevent the death or long term head injury.

Also, a helmet would have done nothing to protect Bassitt. The ball hit him just below the ear right next to the cheek. Horrible to see obviously but a regular batting helmet doesn't even protect there

Zero pitchers would wear one by choice. They tried that with padded hats a few years ago and only a handful of guys chose to wear them.

The test was 05. We won it all and if ever the Sox were going to pull even in popularity or take over it was then. I would think we had the most momentum we'd ever have, but the team did not maintain. It celebrated one full offseason and the entire next season and from then on, it's been all downhill.

My guess is if somehow this tank/rebuild turns into utter dominance of baseball, yes we'd pull even or pass the Cubs. But frankly despite the acquisition of Hall of Fame type talent in Moncada and Eloy and perhaps one of our best hitting shortstops ever in Tim, we are far away from .500 even. Our pitching staff remains suspect at best. If Cease, Gio, Kopech, Lopez dominate, it's a different story. As of now we have very inconsistent starters and an awful bullpen.

In conclusion, we blew a chance in 05 to take the city by storm (Blackhawks times 10) and now we are totally inconsequential, maybe 3/5s  through a rebuild in terms of roster.

    this aged poorly lol

Well someone’s gotta go when Robert and Lamb come back. Maybe it’s Sheets and Lamb never comes back, but there’s only so many roster spots. It’s probably not Goodwin, but prior to that huge Homer, he’s been mostly terrible for several weeks.

If you think Goodwin is getting DFA'd, it just comes from your dislike of him.

Sheets can be sent down and brought back up in a month. Goodwin can't. Now you know what they will do

Yeah, now instead of having to fill just one hole in RF this off-season while adding big money at RP, they have the big money at RP, and have to fill two holes.

And for everyone saying this is how you win the post-season; those dominant bullpens in KC and etc weren't taking up 25% of the teams payroll.

Makes this year more exciting, but I also can't get over how absolutely terrible Kimbrel was the past two years. The volatility of RP's make investing heavily in them so damn stupid.

what a joke. Your miserable self was crying yesterday that Hahn hadn't done enough.

Now you bash him for doing exactly that. lol you're just a hater plain and simple.

I don't know about this. If we play the Dodgers in the WS what advantage do we have over them if they get Max and Trea? Do you see us hitting DeGrom, Walker, and Stroman well? Would we even hit Milwaukee's pitching? Next year if a different animal but this season it's hard to envision that with the amount of rust and young guys we have finding their way.

lol. As I said, complete meltdown from the Soxtalk hater crew if we win.

This is true to a degree. There is also a reason the Twins, Indians, Tigers, Royals, and White Sox haven't sustained a period of success in forever.

    Huh?

Up until this year the Twins have been a great example of sustained success. They just choke in the playoffs. Rays and A's say hi too
