Woulda beat Miami in the play-in last season if Zach didn't disappear in the second half. Redemption Friday!

How would you like to have in your job description "explain every why your bunch of mediocre fielders that are mostly hitting under Mendoza just lost again." I'm not saying he's not an idiot, but how many losses can he be blamed for this season? Yes, he comes off as defensive. Wouldn't you or I?

I'll provide some answers for him. He was charged with coming in and increasing the fly ball rate and it's not working for a bunch of singles (at best) hitters. Everybody's in deep [stuff].

I'll be watching. They need Nostradamus more than Nastrini Right About Now.

2024 Gavin Sheets = 2018 Daniel Palka

Best part of Palka's hot streak was that Pałka is the Polish word for bat! -
4/9 Sox @ Guardians 5:10PM CT

Kopech one slider in two innings. He needs another reliable pitch, just like Hendrix did, although his 100+ is faster and moves more than Hendrix's did. I'm not just being a downer, I loved what I saw tonight. -

He's got those short, thick thighs that have a tendency to cramp up. He needs stretching exercises not muscle builders and I bet he's doing the wrong regimen. -

It got the FO fired, if timing means anything, so was it all bad? -
He is what he was and that's not what a closer needs to be. I'm not sure if I want to call him a weak minded airhead. 100+ now is to hitters like 95 used to be and there isn't much else. All he would need is one more reliable pitch for a 3-4 batter stint. So, you keep trying new guys until you find one that sucks the least. Billy Beane said that he could make anyone into a closer and he was never wrong. 😁 The rotation is looking better. Crochet looks like a physical Titan, Fedde's stuff has me super impressed and Clevinger will give us an honest day's work. As far as the new PBP, he's got better broadcasting skills than Jason and he's less irritating. Jason was better at basketball than baseball, but hoops can make anyone sound good. All the negative things I've seen about Jason on this board over the years were forgotten for a few weeks, but sanity seems to have returned.

At least Stone has stopped saying that he's gonna be a monster. Only if he grows another head. -
Garrett Crochet named Opening Day starter

Grifol would have preferred to start someone really good who could give you 6 and keep it a game. I can't think of the guy's name. Can anyone? I mean the guy has to be on the team as of now. Katz? He's got a method and it doesn't fit everyone. Different method, but same problem as Cooper. At least Katz is aware of the science of throwing a baseball more than Don was. -
Sox speaking about bringing back Clevinger

Rivera was sentenced to 4 years in a military prison for attempted rape of an officer's daughter. That would account for him being a 29 year old rookie. It's a while ago, but the Sox were told by MLB to keep him on the Sox roster and not farm him out. Nice guy. I met him once. Clevinger takes the ball every 5 days and gives you a chance to win. Plus he's not in jail or close to it. Judge not lest you be judged. -
Just based on timing, the Burger trade was what got them fired. My 2 cents anyway.
-
When they reacquired him in '65(?) he said that he didn't mean it. Fun stuff either way.

Hire the guy that's kept Jerry clueless as far as what to say and how to say it for 40 years.

You guys are in rare form. I'm in need of some humor to counter the creeped out feeling I'm getting from this with billionaire Jerry and even wealthier Related Midwest being the beneficiaries of our bucks. Stay strong JB.

I think that I posted on this before but a Stage 4 diagnosis is less dire in circulatory cancers. The 5 year survival rate for Stage 4 lymphoma is 74%.

That’s what I was saying re: Fox and anything involving Democrats. Thx for the reminder on Daley. I didn’t recall. -

Just saying, Rahm Emanuel was mayor 2011-2019, not Daley and I'm fairly certain that Obama prevailed on him to support the pain -in-the -ass that the Olympics would be. Fox News may have been against it for reasons of political consistency, but I was right with them. -

I'm pretty sure I've heard Governor JB say "not us." And I hope he sticks to his guns. And I think your pipe dreams about all the loop workers who now won't hop on the subway for a 10 minute ride to GRF, will be walking to ballgames are just, well, pipe dreams. Besides, the current park is quite serviceable and already well located. Be prepared for another cliffhanger with threats from the team and a romance with an ot-of-town destination except that this time, it just might happen.
