  1. I don't know how you interpret that quote that way unless you're actively trying to interpret it that way.
  2. I'm sure JR would just use some phony ass rationalization that "big strides" were made this year that couldn't have been made if they went outside the organization.
  3. I will say, at least Pedro is moving guys around instead of stubbornly keeping them in the same spot in the lineup.
  4. For me, it’s hoping that: 1) Player development will improve enough where you have waves of talent supplementing the major league roster instead of relying on the same few players to stay healthy and blossom into superstars year after year. 2) The money that JR does allow to be spent will be allocated better aka not spending 50 trillion dollars on the bullpen.
  5. Get both brothers. That family has some good baseball genes.
  6. Sacrificing defense for offense Sacrificing offense for defense Sacrificing defense for offense
  7. Sure, but a big part of a manager's job is handling the media and being the main communicator of the team's status and overall message. He is awful at it.
  8. Appreciate the thoughtful post, but I'm hung up on something. Are you saying you remain objective and keep emotions out of both the lows AND the highs of the franchise? Or that you can flip a switch to block out the lows but still experience the highs?
  9. Depends. If it's a right click, you just go to Edit and increase all his attributes.
  10. The organization deserves it for many reasons, the fans do not (unless you ask JR)
  11. Love AJ's dismissal of Schultz because he hasn't "heard much about him." AJ, you're allowed to look stuff up.
  12. This is an internet message board for a sports team that went from title contender to worst team in the league faster than most could process. I don’t understand how you continue to be surprised and/or bothered that the majority of the discussion is negative.
  13. Chris Stratton and Chris Flexen are the same guy.
  14. Vaughn’s warning track power would fare better at the United Center.
  15. Hey buddy, maybe brushing off once in a lifetime experiences like the eclipse because there's baseball is the not the best way to get guys to relax and enjoy the game.
  16. One that understands it has to get worse before it can get better. Most of us are right there with you.
  17. That’s beside the point now. Losing 115 or whatever is a given. They need different leadership and direction.
  18. Pedro flushing so fast I don’t know if the tank even has time to refill.
  19. I’m a baseball fan in general so I’m still gonna watch and follow (along with watching other teams). But also, I’m invested in seeing how bad this can get. I stopped reacting to losses some time early last year, so now I’m just kicking back and watching how things unfold.
  20. I am all for this running bit. We deserve a little amusement.
  21. Even my phone doesn’t want to think about this guy. It keeps autocorrecting Grifol to Grudki(?) Anyway, fire Pedro. Hire Grudki.
  22. This is also my experience watching on tv since every at bat pretty much ends the same anyway.
  23. It's exhausting because both sides are naming names and then the other side is saying "No, I don't feel the way you feel about that player." It's also exhausting because "developed" is a nebulous and relative term so no one is going to be in agreement on what it means or looks like. It really is all opinion.
  24. I don't really have a dog in this fight because it's all just exhausting, but come on man. Earlier you were basically asking for irrefutable evidence that proves the Getz system failed a given prospect, but much of your reasoning for why these guys aren't failures is based on your opinion.
  25. Yeah but the Sox can now put that sweet cash towards an international signing and who knows, maybe they find themselves a Jose Rodriguez type caliber prospect.
