  1. It's more than Hahn has said or copped to in over two decades with the Sox and one as GM.
  2. Only going by what I have access to, the White Sox flagship radio station. The organization can't even run a competent press conference with at least one full day to plan.
  3. Hahn will be hosting the Press Conference, Tony La Russa will not be there but released a full statement. https://twitter.com/JRFegan/status/1577040368998268928/photo/1 Refreshing Tony La Russa takes responsibility, something I don't recall during the La Russa era. And unlike the worthless Rick Hahn, he addresses fan criticism not with scorn but with appreciation and honesty. Players are filing in to speak per Scott Merkin.
  4. I don't know if they will stream the video and or audio, but I'm trying their flagship radio station link: https://www.twitch.tv/espn1000chicago The worthless 670 WHORE has an NFL segment at 4.
  5. Pretty weak the White Sox do not stream press conferences or post game manager comments on their website.
  6. Tony La Russa as Michael J. Scott Leury Garcia as Dwight Schrute Jose Abreu as Jim Halpert Yoan Moncada as Pam Beesly Rick Hahn as Toby Flenderson Tim Anderson as Stanley Hudson Andrew Vaughn as Creed Bratton Brian Ball as Oscar Martinez Eloy Jimenez as Kelly Kapoor Luis Robert as Ryan Howard Dallas Keuchel as Angela Martin Jason Benetti as Andy Bernard
  7. Did the Sox issue a press release as to how people can listen or stream? Can't find anything on their website or elsewhere. Will the Score or their radio flagship air it, or are both stations too busy bullshiting about the perennially pathetic Chicago football team? Ryan Pace was the only GM in Chicago with a worse winning percentage than Hahn over the past decade (NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL).
  8. I had no doubt an act of God was the only possibility Tony or Jerry would be gone before October 2023. If Tony had no health issues, Kenny and Rick would have no say as to whether Tony could be replaced. Tony wouldn't want to end his career this way, and would want to redeem himself in 2023. The year end press conference would be to blame health, perhaps a few coaches or staff would be relieved of their roles. Hahn would promise player changes and a commitment to continuing to look to improve the club under this multi-championship window, and promise to work with Tony to find ways to improve the club during this offseason.
  9. My Retirement Dream Week: Monday: Tony La Russa Tuesday; Daryl Boston Wednesday: Steve Stone Thursday: Rick Hahn Friday: Jerry Reinsdorf Howard Pizer (legal) and Kenny Williams (Baseball) serve as caretakers until new ownership is in place, both step down upon completion of the sale.
  10. 10/5/22 Sox Math 15th Place across the MLB is the Sox ceiling (Sox lose tie-breaker vs. Baltimore). 17th Place across the MLB is the Sox floor (Boston cannot overtake the White Sox). 15th Place: White Sox 3-0 San Francisco 2-1 or worse White Sox 2-1 San Francisco 1-2 or 0-3 White Sox 1-2 San Francisco 0-3 16th Place (Current Position): White Sox same or worse record final three games than San Francisco White Sox one win 17th Place: White Sox 0-3
  11. The final score is gonna be White Sox 92 Houston zero Da Sox Da Sox
  12. Ozzie Guillen Miguel Cairo AJ Pierzynski
  13. John Coppolella cost other owners players (depreciable assets) and money. It's the lone thing they care about in the sport (piece of metal? please). If owners cared about integrity on the field, they would have done something about steroids, stop switching baseballs in and in between seasons since they purchased the baseball manufacturer, wouldn't have cancelled the 1994 and most of 2020 season, and wouldn't have gone to a twelve team money grab playoff effective this season. Would have also switched to the DH in the NL long before 2022. Pete Rose banned for life and now all thirty teams are working toward "licensing" sportsbooks, all thirty teams strongly advertising gambling for at least a decade.
  14. Not to mention not addressing 2B since Hahn's #3 overall draft pick bust was dumped for Kimbrel. Hahn has had four years to fix the hole in RF after Avisail Garcia left in 2018 and has failed miserably. 2019 - Ryan Cordell -0.6 bWAR 2020 - Nomar Mazara - 0.1 bWAR 2021 - Adam Eaton 0.0 bWAR 2022 - Gavin Sheets -0.4 bWAR
  15. Bob Nightengale should remain primary spokesperson and conduct the press conference for the White Sox. Nightengale, not Hahn, broke all of the important White Sox news since Hahn claimed he was going to conduct a managerial search, including La Russa's hiring, illness, departure from the team, and now his retirement. Hahn let an interim manager and players in the clubhouse address the media when La Russa left the team. He can continue his Ryan Pace act, hopefully he joins Ryan Pace at IDES later this month.
  16. There would be no Chicago White Sox if it weren't for Bill Veeck saving the team in 1975. His choice as replacement was Ed DeBartolo. Cowardly American League owners didn't provide the 75% approval (8 to 6 in favor, needed 11) because cheap ass bastards like Bud Selig didn't want a smart successful owner to join their ranks. So Sox fans instead got nearly a half century of "One Shining Moment" and crates full of carrots to show for it.
  17. It's OK, Chimpton the person I responded to will get it and hopefully like it.
  18. Would love to see Rafa give it a go with the White Sox if they can't get Joe Espada. 2005, the White Sox weren't the only incredible story that year. Pierzynski is to Dudek as Konerko is to Gerrard. "But Alonso follows it INNNNN! It's Wonderful! It's Marvelous! It's 3-3 in the European Cup Final!!!!" The greatest six minutes in human sports history, Secretariat's 1973 Triple Crown the GOAT.
  19. Does Not Compute Charles Comiskey 31 Years, 2 World Series Championships, 4 AL Pennants Jerry Reinsdorf 42 years, 1 World Series Championship, 1 AL Pennant
  20. Many Sox players will be motivated in 2023 playing for a possible next/final contract. Lynn, Grandal, Pollock, Anderson, Giolito will be focused and I expect will perform if healthy in 2023. Moncada, Liam, Eloy, Bummer and Leury have two years to show they deserve mo money in 2025 and beyond. Cant let Hahn pull a Ryan Pace and mortgage what few good prospects remain in the organization in the rumored final year of his deal. A new GM and possible ownership group (Jerry is 87) will have a clean slate in 2025.
  21. “Luck” is nonsense. Winning organizations use reason, logic and modern analytics. Guys like Casey Stengel, Earl Weaver and Davey Johnson were far ahead of their times in terms of tracking and understanding analytics and probability. The past several Sox managers have relied on TWTW, their gut and or their personal anecdotal biases (“he’s got a good face”) to drive their decision making. They have only had three solid managers in my lifetime (Chuck Tanner, Bob Lemon and Jeff Torborg). Ozzie’s primary strength was bringing Atlanta’s pitching philosophies, but he (and Tony) were stubborn and arrogant. Ozzie and Tony had a single great season / chance at winning a WS (1983, not 2021) and a near decade of mediocre teams, Ozzie’s teams typically fading in the second half.
  22. Elvis Andrus will finish with a higher White Sox bWAR than Tim Anderson (1.6 through Saturday vs. 1.3 for Anderson) despite playing nearly double the number of games (Tim 79, Elvis 39 plus the last four games).
  23. DJ called Pollock out for not tagging, said he needed to go there. He is the only player I dislike on the team (Adam Dunn and David Wells on previous teams).
  24. My choice in 2020 may not be available this time around if Dusty steps down after the season. Joe Espada remains my choice if he is available. Will give the organization a new modern perspective, relate well with the players and will Give the People What they Want!
