The key to Cease is location, not velocity. Hope he is able to maintain his composure.

We All Know What the Problem Is: Jerry Reinsdorf

Daylight fading Come and waste another year All the anger and the eloquence are bleeding into fear Moonlight creeping around the corners of our lawn When we see the early signs that daylight's fading We leave just before it's gone

"TLR isn’t helping Sox, who may be beyond it"

Not only did they significantly bump player payroll for Tony (Lynn, Eaton, Hendriks, Kimbrel, Cesar), but they added two coaching staff positions and Tony filled them all with cronies beyond Lucas' and Hahn's recruitment of Ethan Katz. I was initially thrilled the Sox finally brought in someone to help major league catchers, and develop minor league catchers. However, organizational catchers took a step backwards despite the dedicated additional resources. The only skill of Jerry Narron's on display this season is calligraphy, including incorporation of Hebrew and Japanese. I rather have a catcher instructor who, I don't know, improves catchers in the organization. He reminds me of a Street and Sans supervisor who instead of having his crew filling potholes instead instructs them to build him an underground pool in his backyard.

I'm hoping they flip Grandal and Robert tonight, but Tony will most likely want to split up to go RLRLRR in the top six slots. My preferred lineup is: SS TA; 3B YM #; 1B JA; CF LR; C YG #; LF EJ DH GS ^; RF AE; 2B LG #.

"TLR isn’t helping Sox, who may be beyond it"

The Athletic recap from the Houston writer summed up best the difference between the philosophies of the two teams. Pinching the infield in early during Game 1 lead to an extra run early, and put additional pressure on the team.Add abysmal defensive lapses and fundamentals, chalked up during the season as "due to injuries". One manager going for the win with his decisions, and his team cashed in twice, the second in a very winnable game for the White Sox. https://theathletic.com/2878046/2021/10/08/astros-relentless-offense-lays-waste-to-white-sox-bullpen-for-2-0-alds-lead-it-happens-fast/

Family from Liverpool, split Everton and Liverpool in the family (same as Sox and Cubs in my family here). Pulled my lifelong fandom of Liverpool in April with their Super League scheme. Will not return ever, or perhaps possibly only after the stench of the FSG scum is wiped clean from Anfield.

Beer and fried chicken pizza needs to lose 40-50 pounds so his knee can handle more than a few months in a season. Lucas didn't have his best stuff, but kept the team in the game. The Sox were up two, but it was clear his pitch count was high, he had four very stressful innings against a top hitting lineup, and it was clear he should have been pulled. Many were calling for the bullpen to warm in the fourth, and when he started the 5th, to definitely have a quick trigger in the fifth facing the top of the order for the third time. I prefer a clean inning for relievers, gives them a clean slate to attack hitters without worrying about sign stealing, pitching out of the stretch, gives them room to work around or walk a guy with a tough matchup/platoon matchup. Tony doesn't, and hasn't for the most part, all season. Tony also has let pitchers go after they were clearly gassed throughout the year. Tony clearly has an issue recognizing when Giolito is gassed, starting with that game in May with Tony's asinine postgame comments. I knew the 5th would play out exactly as it did, with Tony primarily concerned with "Getting Lucas A Win", instead of getting the White Sox the win. The Brain Stem compounded the issue by putting in Crochet, clearly ineffective in back to back games all season, when he had several other options, including the preferred choice by most, Michael Kopech. Brain Stem had one other thought process in whatever synapsis remain between the ravages of age and alcohol. Get Lucas the Win and get a Lefty in. That is the extent of Tony's 2021 thought process. A good manager puts his team in the best position to win a game. Tony failed on several accounts yesterday. Not even getting into the asinine Cesar PH / Leury to RF debacle that moved a game from competitive to out of reach. If this team is serious about fielding a competitive team in their "mutli-championship window" (copyright Rick Hahn 2020 - and it's World Series multi-championships, not fucking AL Central Championships), they are going to go with a manager who can put his team in the best position to win. Hahn had his guy, the manager with a signature on the Tony press release, but it was vetoed by another fossil whose other main decision over the decades was replacing a solid Roland Hemond with Hawk Harrelson. The urgency is great, they need a manager who can credibly move the White Sox to compete at the highest stage. Tony has been completely pwned by Dusty Baker this series, and all season. His incoherent and absurd post game comments confirm the incomprehensible game moves are not just momentary lapses in reason, but a complete and permanent lack of grasp of what is going on during a game, who he has at his disposal, and how best to manage game situations and his personnel. Kick the dinosaur upstairs so his unemployable criminal ass can buy wine until he or Jerry join The Departed, and hire a manager capable of understanding and managing the game as it is played in 2021. Or just take advantage of the spike in 2022 season ticket sales and say fuck you to the fans, Jerry's standard response and take over the decades. Most know what scenario is likely to be played out, assuming Jerry and his owners even field teams in 2022.

Any linked source to this? I don't recall reading or hearing any details about his contract when he was hired. Not that a contract will limit his stay if JR's still alive and running the show.

    ALDS Game 2 - Chicago @ Houston - 1:07pm CDT

One of the primary reasons MLB is dying, is because it is owned, operated and presented by people who should be retired and at home trying to figure out how to work a remote control decades earlier. Then you Costas (70 before 2022 Opening Day, if it happens) rambling about the Civil War. So glad I had Len and DJ on.

Kimbrel (and Keuchel) are just out of gas at this point, not having pitched a regular slate since 2018 (between the Owner FA Collusion in 2019 and Owner Lockout in 2020). Both should bounce back somewhat in 2022. That said, Kimbrel was already gassed at the Trade Deadline (36.2 IP, or two outs MORE than the previous two years combined) and Hahn did not take this into account. If Hahn picks up his option, you once again are restricting for a third straight season addressing legitimate holes in 2B and RF that just aren't going away with more cheap FAs. This path has resulted in Mazara (-0.1 bWAR) Eaton (0.0 bWAR, -0.7 bWAR w/ Angels), and Cesar (-0.8) as your acquired starters. They could have had Brantley for $8M more, instead they sign Eaton because previous acquisitions tied their hands, and Hahn is just too impatient in the off-season, settling for garbage early when there are many good and cheaper options if you wait until January/February.
