  1. Im fine with waiting it out 100% if it results in Mayo or Kjerstad as the headliner, just don’t see a reason for the Sox to settle for anything less than one of those two as the headliners. A trade for a top of the rotation arm for 2 fulls seasons is supposed to hurt, moving Cowser/Ortiz/Norby doesn’t hurt enough
  2. If BAL said “no” to this then move on, they aren’t serious about acquiring a front of the rotation arm. Their message boards are saying this type of deal could land a Logan Gilbert, they’re just as looney as we are.
  3. Kjerstad/Mayo+Ortiz/Westburg+any pitcher they don’t want is the least I’d accept from the O’s. If they or their forum don’t like it then trade him to someone else who gets desperate either now or at the deadline or hell hold onto him for 2 years. No reason to settle on Cease when we know he’s closer to the 2022 version than last year’s. Opening day game against the Astros is who Cease is during big time performances, that’s what teams are going to have to pay for, not some early 98 degree August game against the Royals when nobody wants to be there
  4. If that’s the case then the Braves being favorites make all the sense in the world. I personally hate the idea, they desperately need offense in the system on top of pitching of course but idk about you guys, I’m tired of watching Sheets, Romy , Colas, Remillard, Lenyn, or anybody not named Robert for that matter get any amount of ABs.. I’d like to think this is simply a negotiation tactic to have teams with lesser pitching up their offers
  5. Yankees, Orioles, Red Sox, Reds, Cubs, Giants, Angels, Rangers, Padres, Mets, Braves, Phillies, Jays, Cards, Rockies could get weird, and hell why would you count out the Dodgers. Whatever the O’s and Reds were offering before I sure as hell hope for their sakes they’re ready to play ball now
  6. Yankees, Orioles, Red Sox bidding war for Cease
  7. We’re all sweating this out, refreshing X, searching far and wide for any sort of rumors on Cease or any other player but we all know it’s gonna be radio silence until we get a notification from the White Sox X/Twitter account directly breaking the news that they’ve traded Dylan Cease.
  8. Dylan Cease, Corbin Burnes, Shane Bieber, Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Jordan Montgomery Angels, Braves, Cards, Cubs, Dodgers, Giants, Mets, Nationals, Orioles, Padres, Reds, Red Sox, Rockies, and Yankees all need pitching to varying degrees, if Chris Getz fumbles this…
  9. Both sides would have to agree to a floor and a cap and they never will
  10. I think the Dodgers are gonna be the favorites at this point and if the Yankees miss out on Yamamoto 👀👀 I truly hope Mike Elias feels that pressure to pay the asking price if not more
  11. A potential Cease suitor down if this happens, cool with it though, wasn’t high on the DBacks potential offers unless it included Jordan Lawler which he never was. Figure to be in on Cease: Orioles, Dodgers, Reds, Red Sox, Braves, Padres, Giants, Mets, Cards, Rangers, Yankees, DBacks
  12. That last part of Lavine’s post makes this feel so much sweeter, once teams like the O’s, Reds, DBacks, or hell even potentially the Cubs whiff on the big time starters the Sox will get a haul for him.
  13. Wouldn’t it be some s**t if the Sox were insistent on Jackson Holliday
  14. Cease and Santos for Mayo, Kjerstad, another body. I mentioned Santos to the O’s before realizing that Felix Bautista is out the entire year. I get some of this thread isn’t too keen on giving up Santos but if that’s what it took to get both Kjerstad and Mayo sign me up.
  15. No get as many quality position player prospects in this deal as possible, you’ll find pitching elsewhere
  16. I’m sorry I tried separating the two that was my hypothetical trade not what Heyman said haha
  17. Hypothetical Trade: Sox get: Kjerstad, Mayo, and DL Hall O’s get: Cease and Santos From Jon Heyman’s article in the New York Post: ”Baltimore, stacked with promising kids, matches up nicely with the White Sox, which makes sense since the South Siders have the most valuable rotation piece to trade. The Orioles tried for Cease at the deadline, but there’s more time now to figure things out. The Orioles also seek a back-end reliever and have contacted Maryland product and ex-Oriole farmhand Josh Hader plus Craig Kimbrel, Aroldis Chapman and Jordan Hicks. Hader may be a bit pricey for the O’s, though”
  18. I think if Kjerstad, Norby, one other small piece were the ask it may be done already, I’d love to think Sox are pushing for Mayo to be in the deal also as opposed to Norby.
  19. I was all over Kjerstad but watching his swing reminds me of Zack Collins, brings back bad memories. I really want Mayo now 😂
  20. I mean that’s ideal in a perfect world but it’s Jerry Reinsdorf that said he wants to compete ASAP and Getz said they want higher OBP guys Randy isn’t a FA until 2027 like Robert, but has 3 years of ARB left. 29 in February . I doubt the Rays would do it because he’s cheap but idk I’d love watching Arozarena and Luis Robert for the next couple years
  21. Maybe I’m reaching but could a Dylan Cease for Randy Arozarena deal work??
  22. How soon can you trade a recent draftee? Why do I feel like there was an adjustment to how soon you could trade them
  23. It’s gotta be the O’s. Outside of Dalton Rushing I really don’t want anything the Dodgers could be offering. O’s, Rangers, Rays, or Phillies for me in that order, I understand you’d like pitching for pitching but I just don’t trust any position player in the Sox system to ever amount to anything so go get them from another team instead.
