  1. This organization could choose between Vaughn and Sheets to take over and trade the other. Id almost rather keep Sheets to take the job. At least he is big and left handed. And Vaughns value will allow the Sox to trade for a perfect fitting piece to plug in somewhere. Above comment about wasting draft picks on first basemen is a good one. Look at the problems the team has deploying its young talent because of the position they play.
  2. I mean, if Abreu isn’t retiring, there’s no position for him other than DH. Platooning this poor guy around is just wrong. They should just trade the guy for a serious young position player of need, or pitcher.
  3. Not as an outfielder imo. People are projecting him as an outfielder which is insane. Ideal physical profile as a first baseman though.
  4. I don't actually think his health concern was a letimate concern for the Sox specifically. For other teams, sure. But for the Sox, he was a must signing, they HAD to roll the dice considering their starters situation, and that they are going for the ship. There was no choice, unless they had a backup plan. As we have seen, they did not. I don't know what the problem was. Money? Dollar bills spent for guys like Vasquez and Cueto instead seems like way more of a risky purchase than Carlos Rodon could ever be. Inconceivable.
  5. No. Because when the Sox are the team trading veterans for prospects they do well. But that’s not the scenario right now. Its the other way around. The Sox are horrible at trading prospects for veterans. Its why trading prospects for Montas is ironic. He is another ex Sox prospect that we gave away for a veteran that doesn’t quite work. The Sox trading for veterans with their prospects is like the search for Moby Dick.
  6. Vaughn is idiot proofing the situation. Hes gotta stay healthy to keep his current status
  7. It is. For Now I will take it as a confident indicator of how they project his season to go by virtue of how his current strength has impressed them.
  8. I just think not signing him was a luxury the White Sox could not afford. Signing him was not the luxury. Not signing him was the luxury. The Sox were delusional about their situation.
  9. Kind of expected other than the Kopech outing though. Now the adventure begins
  10. TA and Harrison playing together is nitroglycerin.
  11. Something about some rookies getting tough calls and bad calls during ABs. Seemed like Vaughn could hardly catch a break either last year
  12. the best thing about the morals deal is that the Chicago team is not on the short end of the stick in terms of talent for once
  13. The hitters stopped fouling him off. That bothered me as far as what he could get away with in velocity. I think they stopped swinging at so many pitches
  14. Well, have to say despite the concerns about velocity, Kopech gave us hope today bottom line.
  15. fair enough, but the Sox are abysmal in getting value for prospect trades for old dudes. These guys should learn to just say no, and try other avenues.
