  1. Not signing Rodon is going to be vastly more expensive than signing him.
  2. Should have overpaid for Rodon. And I was against it, but assumed the White Sox had their shit together.
  3. Agreed, but thats a low bar. Collins is a woof hitter and always will be
  4. Dark horse, really? Or do I not understand fully what “Dark horse” means… ok, Tucker and Rendon yes. Franco and Robert don’t seem like dark horse candidates.
  5. Yeah, I don't know, but Vaughn is so good and valuable that the Sox can't even find a spot for him. I'd trade him. At the end of the day, he is a first baseman.
  6. Still don't gdet how the Sox would ever consider it a savings. Kimbrel's salary, and now even Pollack's are way way higher than Madrigal's salary. Instead of previously blowing up the payroll to the moon, now it's just in orbit
  7. Vaughn goes first. He’s worth more now anyway.
  8. As long as Gas Can Kuechel is in the Sox rotation, personally, schadenfreude in short supply.
  9. Rodon was not left unscathed last season. The injury demon that possesses JR and the White Sox….. Don’t get it started with boundaries it may not respect.
  10. TLR is supposed to be the guru of relief moves. But I think roles were a little bit undefined on this team. I don’t think a lot of guys could predict their appearance keys. And Kopech and Lopez were wildcards. Kimbrel was in no man’s land. And they were gonna do it again with Crochet until a minute ago. Lopez is still undefined other than being undefined again.
  11. No doubt, the Sox have made a decent recovery from a problem they had built. If have Craig Kimbrel on your team can ever be classified as a ‘problem’. Without having to sweeten the deal. Should say what people around the league feel about what Kimbrel has left in the tank.
  12. https://mobile.twitter.com/chelsea_janes/status/1509928742667239428
  13. ^^^^Its not terrible to be scared if Rick Hahn is pulling the trigger on a prospects deal.
  14. Maybe not conceptually, but in context, that draft wasn’t a good one. Seemed like a 3 and a half player draft at the top. Madrigal having a fairly high enough floor at 4 was considerable. Kelenic was an upside roll of the dice I liked. Carter Stewart had the exiting spin rate. India didn’t fit the profile you are looking for either. Again, Madrigal’s floor was considerable in a meh draft.
  15. I call it an asset wasted. The Sox do have a lot of assets, but they aren’t that team with an endless pipeline enough so they can be this frivolous.
  16. At least it finally became old for old. The Sox/Hahn aren’t good at this. I vote that they stop trying, and keep their powders dry.
  17. I hated that we were in position to have to draft a 5'7 player. Was kind of intrigued with Kelenic and Brady Singer. But Madrigal was going to work out well enough. For the record, not a Vaughn guy either...CJ Abrams. I hate wasting young assets is the main point. As far as the Sox picks go, the college player route as a religion was very exasperating. Although with the White Sox scouting department, I can understand why they would want to play it more safe. But they were getting ridiculous.
  18. Madrigal would have been having decent seasons and helping win playoffs series for 10+ years.. There is no way to fix this mess, just try to mitigate damage.
  19. if AJ helps win the world series, it could become less of a sharp stick in the eye. But there is no way to make it right.
  20. Not sure the White Sox are looking at this as a savings, since Kimbrel’s salary was a basic add-on for the stretch and playoffs. Now, the money sticks over what Madrigal was making.
  21. Ill need to think about that. At least subbing for Eloy in late innings becomes easier plugging in Engel and shifting AJ into left
  22. Tony gets to be proven wrong at least 100 games this season. And that’s just about right field
