I'm a bit worried about the Kjerstad vs Cowser thing being the next Moncada vs Devers thing and the Sox ending up with the wrong highly and similarly ranked top prospect from a team.

The Sox probably think they can scout by reading scouting publications and using their typical evaluation process to subsist, rather  than investing in quality to their own scouting department. Whatever the Sox know, other teams know more. Yeah yeah, I know the Sox might have paid lip service to some sort of change in MO. Whatever it is, Jerry Reinsdorf won’t let it be anything but substandard. The Sox are now going to stop letting other teams poach their own talent, and smoke the Sox in prospect trades all of the sudden, for sure.

You evaluate him as a player based on his 162 game BA and HR average which is borderline elite level. You do not conflate reliance with anticipated time off moving forward because he will not be playing in the outfield. He should be fully rehabbed from his hamstring surgery, and his appendix was removed. Eloy does not want any more issues with the hamstring so he will do whatever he can in terms of stretching it out and warming up in the clubhouse between at-bats.  Also, no more big final step at first base trying to leg out a single. I think we need his bat behind Robert and Vaughn in the middle of the order to remain competitive.

As to the bold, that’s not how it works. You can take the stats of dozens of NBA guys that come off the bench and project them out for 36 mpg and impress yourself with the results. But they come off the bench for a reason. Alas, Eloy is at the doctors office frequently for a reason. His body is not going to become more healthy as the years go by.  Eloy gets injured  more in the batters box, and running to first base than he does in the outfield probably anyway.

I don’t think they’re getting Cowser. If they keep insisting on that, it’ll probably be a different team.

Not that the Orioles would be lowballing the Sox, but they or any other team shouldn’t be expected to be putting their best offers on the table before Spring Training. If the Sox are impatient and insist on getting a deal done even before winter meetings, weakness is apparent, no doubt there is blood in the water

    Chris Getz: Man of Action

Interesting to put the entire team up for trade, Ill just say that. Remains to be seen how much of that is real or not.  But  it is not very likely anything will happen  for a long time  It’ll be all lowball offers until spring training

Well, the defense up the middle got a lot better.  That's something, right?  Right?

What it seems like the plan is, to establish an identity on the ground floor of adding/promoting the real talent to the roster later. I guess in this case, a defensive identity. Perhaps a grinder mentality. In other words, the ballyhooed quick turnaround may amount to a turnaround in style orientation rather than a turnaround in the standings.

This is a solid haul. Few lottery tickets and a number of guys that will at least be members of the 26 man roster at some point for a RP that has straight up been bad.

I also suspect the Braves will get the most out of Bummer because that’s what good organizations do, but it wasn’t going to happen here

Unless Chris Getz is a sleeper genius,  This moment seem precarious. Not that I object to blowing it up. The organization needs a complete overhaul. But dealing with the sharks of the League is scary.  Tak care Chris.

There is no money savings…Bummer was at 5.5 in 2024 and minimum 2.5 to buyout….so 8 mil.

Soroka and Lopez alone, are at that figure for 2024.

That being said, I’d rather have any of the 5 dudes they just got, over the lack of enjoyment gained by watching Aaron Bummer pitch.

Ah OK. Never mind previous comment. Catching up on the goings on. If there's no money savings, I guess 5 players is better than 1.

The thing with Phillies is their rotation is mostly set. The thing to watch is if they can keep Nola, or go FA instead. But I could see Dombrowski pull a trigger rather than rely on young pitching.

It may be a wise move for the Sox to stay away from Dombrowski.

  9. The Bears pulled the same crap with Ryan Pace, who was allowed to keep digging the hole unabated. These franchises,  maaan. Nobody can see the speeding trains coming to avoid further wreckage. Not sure the ultimate people calling the shots care enough to look up from their poofy  brunches and dinners cares until their body men poke them on the shoulder to tell them the frothing media has surrounded the compound.

  10. Aside from a popup winner in 2005,  the pathetic record of this team for countless decades (well, they were actually counted) speaks for itself that there is no direction they choose likkely to work. It is an incompetant organization, historically so. Perhaps the unwillingness to invest in a productive farm team prevents them from being successful despite themselves. But until they finally decided to build a sustainable model for the farm system to flourish, all this talk about which direction to choose is  empty gumflapping.

Winning ugly is sweet…I guess. Thankfully they won’t have this relief pitching next year. Nice game for Touki, Anderson and Jimenez.

Lets go get a win tomorrow so my son can experience a White Sox winner in person!

NO! I want that .03 percentage increase in #1 pick chances  You and your son….kick rocks
