  1. Nantz/Romo were trying to talk over it but you could still hear it.
  2. Choosing 3rd and 12 over 4th and 2 with that amount of time left is 100% the right call. It's just that the defense is awful. Only 5 quality players on that side of the ball and 3 of them are injured. Firing Nagy won't help if Pace is allowed to pick his successor and be in charge for another offseason.
  3. Left side of the line got the yard Montgomery needed but he cut it back trying to get 10.
  4. Is this what I have to look forward to when I get older? Complaining about the layout of drug stores.
  5. That wasn't really the point though. I've heard of Magic Johnson, and the Miracle on Ice, of course OJ, and other things that came before that. It was more noting that Seles probably doesn't rise to the level of other things mentioned because I've heard of them and not of her.
  6. I'd literally never heard of Monica Seles until you posted this.
  7. B is best C is good No thanks to having Dallas as the 5th starter.
  8. See, that's why I never tell my live-in chef my secrets.
  9. I'd love to organize a poker game with the Sox FO. I could retire before I hit 20.
  10. Richer, sure, but much less competitive. Colorado and Nebraska left the Big 12 for more money and have pretty much never been heard from again.
  11. Oklahoma and Texas are going to become afterthoughts in the SEC.
  12. Know who else beat Mexico? Canada. Yes, Canada. Canada is now in first place. US is second, one point clear of Mexico and Panama.
  13. Yeah but it's for one year. If he sucks or gets hurt you aren't stuck with him long term. I'd much rather give someone like him 1/21 than 3/40+
  14. The HS I went to for one day is in the same conference as MC, but they've never made it that far.
  15. The best people for the job are white males because they aren't hiring the best people for the lower level jobs who work their way up to the top jobs.
  16. By "more than we thought" you mean more than enough to have rejected the Qualifying Offer and thus leaving this incompetent front office with one fewer draft pick than they should have had.
  17. My dad told me the best thing about the 17 game schedule was no more .500 records so I'm rooting hard for the Steelers to finish 8-8-1.
  18. I don't hate Vaughn. He's an outstanding talent. It's not his fault that he was forced to play out of position. It's also not his fault that his skill set is incredibly similar to others on the team, most notably Eloy and Jose. That said, having Vaughn in the same lineup as Eloy and Jose is problematic. I'm not going to try and guess as to what's the best way out of that situation, but it's a reality that has to be dealt with somehow.
  19. Yes, that will totally fool 29 career baseball talent evaluators if the Sox manipulate Vaughn's stats by doing that. Every single one of them will fall for that trick.
  20. Given the stakes, I'd have to say the 2002 WC game still rates as the finest hour. US still only 3 points ahead of 4th place Panama, so I don't think it will be a trap game. Enjoy this cycle of WC qualifying because it will be the last interesting one. Hosting in 2026 means auto qualification and the expanded tournament with 6 spots for CONCACAF means pretty close to auto qualification every time.
  21. Not sarcasm at all. I think they knew they could look like they were "really trying" to get Wheeler.
  22. I'm not convinced that they weren't 100% certain that he would never go to Chicago before they made that offer.
  23. Boras gets a percentage of player contracts, so if the players collectively get a larger percentage of revenues, his take increases. I'm not saying he's wrong about anything, but being right on any issue is purely incidental to being profitable for him.
  24. Sox should engage with Ray also just to make sure Toronto doesn't get either of them cheaply.
