  1. Wow, this thread is all over the map. I'll end it by just saying ... I love Maggs. We've been treading water without Maggs. We need Maggs or our lineup is s***.
  2. The thing that bothers me is when people act like Maggs is being a dick. He's always been a class act. Completely.
  3. I can't believe Maggs is so underappreciated by some. Why does he not deserve big bucks? I pray the Cubs sign him. I wanna see him stick it up Reinsdork's butt.
  4. I'd rather have Maggs than Garcia, but I can see why people are more excited about Freddie. He's the new guy on the block while Maggs has been here excelling for years. It's the same reasoning the new guy brought in from a hotshot company at an "everyday normal" job gets all the money and the guy who has worked his ass off and been consistent for the same company 6 years gets s*** on. I want Maggs over FG, but that's just me.
  5. Brando I don't ignore your posts because I like to read what you have to say. I called you on what I thought was b.s. I think the fact Paulie lined a single to center shows he wasn't trying to whack it out of the park every time. And I believe firmly Rusch pitched a great game and is having a great season thus far.
  6. Brando said: "Glendon Rusch is the kind of a pitcher who will be crushed if your hitters are smart and unselfish. Teams that are in trouble against him are teams that look at his career ERA and think "batting practice time". Glendon Rusch pitched a good game and is having a good year, Brando, whether you believe it or not. Nobody was gonna hit him in that 8th inning. I don't care if they were greedy or whatever the f*** you are calling it, there was no hope in that 8th inn. You think C. Lee was trying to homer every time up? I say not. Was Paulie trying to homer when he lined that single up the middle? SOrry Brando, but I call a lot of your analysis bulls***.
  7. Brando said: "Rusch game was an abomination. He had nothing and Sox couldn't touch him. No runs in 8 innings! My god, how embarassing." This is utter b.s. Brando. I call you on this. I watched the game and you are incorrect. That is pure b.s. About Paulie You said: Longer stride, longer swing....he ended up being tardy and flew out to RF. Had he tried to just hit a liner hard somewhere, I wouldn't be surprised if a line-drive homer to CF resulted. Paulie went for too much and it had the opposite effect. Sometimes I think you analyze individual at bats too much. At times batters wait for pitches, react and swing. You act like there is an immortal plan on every pitch, every at bat. It sounds like you've played the game at some point, so I assume you've been at the plate and reacted to pitches. But there is not a MASTER PLAN on every at bat. I think Paulie hacked and what happened happened.
  8. Would they have taken Rowand? I have a feeling Reed and Joe B. are more important than AR, though I like him, as well.
  9. This is a legitimate concern, not Loaiza for gosh sake. I can't belive we have a thread on getting rid of Esteban when he's just been named an all star. If these two keep hitting like this, we got problems.
  10. Brando, I don't think RJ will come here. Yes we are going for it, but I'm telling you, we can't mortgage the future of having a moderately competitive team and give away all our prospects. Why? Because no matter what we do, we're still not going to beat out the Yanks. Look what happened to Minn. last year. If we win the division, in all likelihood, we're gonna have as quick an exit. I'm not saying for sure ... if our sticks got hot we'd have a chance to win a series maybe but the odds are we are not gonna beat the Yanks no matter how many moves we make. I don't want to become the O's do you?
  11. I respect yu brando, but i find this post laughable. He just got named to the All Star Game for gosh sakes.
  12. 4 for 44. Wow. I thought Willie might start the season like this, but he was a pleasant surprise early.
  13. Sorry Brijames, Didn't mean to piss you off. I just sensed you were using the cliched argment of "they must not care" when a team gets shut down at the plate. My feeling is a lot of s*** happens in a game and it's not because we don't have fiery leaders who don't want to win. Valentin is a kick ass guy. Who's the guy on the Cubs that fits your description? The guy on the Yankees? The Angels? I think Oz is a pretty f***ing good leader.

If you are right, Killa, we're in trouble. Cause Uribe and Willie can't keep hittin like this.
  15. I came within a fluke start by Diaz last Saturday of making good on the "Sox lose 5 of 6" prediction. I knew these pull-happy bastards would choke. They didn't disappoint. --Brando just when I thought you weren't like that Cleveland Indians fan in "Major League" you come up with that sentence. You think choking is what happened to us in Game Two? That game was a f***ing joke with the weather. Game one we got shut down. Game Three coulda gone either way and we didn't have Frank and Maggs. C'mon Brando, you can do better than this. These pull happy bastards got swept because it's baseball and s*** happens. They didn't choke. It's f***ing obvious you aren't gonna beat the Cubs tonight with Frank and Maggs out and Jose V not playing. Harris and Uribe are sucking but they are not choking. Maybe those 2 are no better than this!
  16. That first inning, he was nasty as usual. They were swinging at the slow stuff. That second inning he fell behind in the count. Right?

Brando may be right on this one. He's not having a good year at this point. But if he is a second-half hitter like soembody said, we'll be in good shape. I'm just as worried about Willie and Uribe. They ain't hitting so well, either. Cubs Sucks, I wish you'd get off Jose's ass. How you think Jose doesn't care is beyond me. Who cares if he was smiling. Maybe somebody said something incredibly funny to cheer his ass up after whiffing against some nasty stuff.
  18. I don't see any leadership on this team. Players who refuse to lose. Brijames, call talk radio with crap like this. They'll love to chat about this pure bulls***. The White Sox won 2 of 3 against the Cubs last week and swept Minnie at Minnie. Your rant is talk radio at its finest. But it is pure bulls***. We got shut down by Zamby, who wanted to make up for last week. Then we faced a motivated Maddux on a day the f***ing game shouldn't have been played because of rain. And Game Three, Lee hits a f***ing game tying home run on a night we lost a pitcher's duel. And we were without Frank and Maggs who would help against a lefty. Grow up and get a clue. We swept Minnie at Minnie. Is that a team with players who don't give a s***.
  19. typo . I meant to say how can you say the effort was BAD at the plate, not Bat.
  20. Let's give it up for the 'try hard' Sox. --Do you really think they had no effort tonite? Crede's at bat was horses***. Like Jim said, the top of the order is horrific, right now. But to say the effort was lax is simple bulls***, Cubs Sucks. Have you ever played baseball? How can you say effort is bat at the plate??? I mean if you don't run hard, fine. The effort was good tonight. We had horrific 1-2 in the order again. We had some bad at bats when runs could be knocked in. Marte sucked in walking Walker, but Walker did fight off a couple nasty pitches. I can easily see how we got swept. Maddux and Zambo badly wanted to make up for last weekend and in Game Three with sweep on line, anything can happen.
  21. It looked like that pitch slipped. f***!!!!!!
  22. Wow, 3-2 pitch coming up. Ball four. We lose. s*** happens. The only good thing about this is if we play them in the World Series, they might take us for granted. We lose the season series 4-2.
  23. 1-2 pitch is nasty high heater, foul ball. oops high heater, not a good pitch 2-2. nice curve on 2-2, foul ball.
  24. 0-2, good pitch sequence. high hard one, 1-2.
