I honestly don't know what we'd get for him right now, maybe we should send him down to AAA and let Rauch come up and see what he can do.
Regardless of what anyone says, he's still too young to give up on and trade for garbage, especially at what we're paying him currently.
I agree, it's ridiculous how much we are talking about Sammy, this is SoxTalk, not Scrubs talk.
We have games to win, our season, although it is currently a train wreck, is not over.
Birmingham starter Neal Cotts opened the game in search of his eighth win in 10 decisions. But Cotts didn't stay around long.
The left-hander struggled with control, throwing 49 pitches in just two innings. He departed before the beginning of the third as a precaution due to soreness in his throwing shoulder.
I don't think Manuel is doing terrible either, I just think the team needs a change. You can't blame JM for Konerko and Crede sucking it up, the numerous errors and inconsistent pitching. At some point the players have to look in the mirror and quit making excuses. Until that happens, the season and the crash course it's running is going to continue.
You guys bust on Gammons for being "biased against the Sox" yet just admitted that he is giving the Sox the benefit of the doubt.
I've never given Gammons credit for anything. He is far inferior to both Tim Kurkjan and Jayson Stark IMO. Those are the two guys I actually listen to, not Gammons.
Jun 1 Schilling was hit twice on his pitching hand by comebackers in Friday's game against the San Diego Padres. After the game, the Diamondbacks' righthander underwent precautionary X-rays, which were negative. He was diagnosed with a bone bruise, but expects to make his scheduled start on Wednesday.
Advice: Schilling will throw in the bullpen over the next couple of days to make sure he will be ready.
Basically, no official word yet.
More fans would come to the park, that'd be a plus. Of course they'd come to see Slim instead of the Sox, but JR would love the increased gate but wouldn't use it to improve this sinking ship.
