  1. Buehrle can't be upset about the offense. sure it would be nice to have run support, but the fact is Buehrle was in when that two-run homer was hit. A great outing for Buehrle, but it isn't that he never had a lead and was fighting from behind or the bullpen blew it. sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. you know what would be cool. if the Sox take a REALLY big lead in tomorrow game. then in the fifth inning with two outs, pull Garland and let Buehrle throw to the last batter of the inning. then have the bullpen pitch the rest. it wouldn't be a legit win, but I think Buehrle deserves 20 wins. of course, that won't happen for health reasons.

    Hey Mario

I'm not worried about improving or anything, just bowling and winning. like you said, handicap or not, you are still contributing the same amount. there are too many guys out there who spend their life on this game. I bought a ball about 2-3 years ago for $240. I still have it and have these "proffesionals" telling me I need a new ball. Just cause they spend their whole damn paycheck on it, doesn't mean I will.
  3. if there was a picture on the internet of me, I would post it, but there isn't, and since I have no idea how to get one, I guess I'll remain faceless.
  4. this isn't permament. this is temporary. we will have a new one as jason said located on soxtalk.
  5. I don't think we can deal foulke just like that. Right now, Foulke is set to make 6 million dollars. He hasn't closed effectively since last season, despite his success this year, and it is unknown where he can start. are people really going to give what he's worth?
  6. I'm too lazy to read the entire thread so I'll just stick my two cents. Jimenez is gonna play second next year. I don't agree with it and think he should play short (if you don't agree, watch a reply of tonights game and see Valentin's error, horrible). but realistically he'll be at second with Harris on the bench. midway through the season, if the Sox are in it, they'll keep him there and will move him to short in 2004 when Valentin is gone after the season. if the Sox are out of it by the deadline, deal Valentin and move Jimenez to short then. harris going to second obviously.

    Hey Mario

I didn't bowl at all in the summer. I'm taking a different approach to bowling, don't try. I try to win and all taht stuff, but towards of last year, I made up mind that I wasn't going to swear or punch anything anymore. whether I shoot good or bad, just stay relaxed. and since then it has worked. My average so far this season is like 178. I still don't have a high average, but I'm making all my games count. whenever I throw a really bad game, we usually end up winning by a lot, so I'm cool with it.
  10. http://www.soxnet.net/schedule2003.html Sox Announce Tentative 2003 Schedule SN Report #344 - By Mark Jacobsen - September 25th 2002 - www.soxnet.net The White Sox released a tentative copy of their 2003 schedule on Tuesday. There are some interesting match-ups set for the upcoming season, one of which includes a visit from home run king Barry Bonds and the San Francisco Giants on June 10th - 12th. The 2002 season will kick-off on March 31st in Kansas City against Mike Sweeny and the Royals. This will be the 11th season in a row that Sox have started on the road. From Kansas City the Sox travel home to face the Detroit Tigers in their home opener on April 4th. As it's been these past two seasons, the Sox will see a steady diet of American League Central teams, facing each club 19 times. As for the cross-town classic, the Cubs and the Sox will face each other the customary 6 times. The first series being at Wrigley from June 20th to the 22nd, and then a week later the south-siders invite their neighbors to the north for a duel at Comiskey. It should be an interesting July in Chicago, as Comiskey Park will play host to the 75th meeting of AL versus NL in the 2003 Major League All-star game. Some other important dates include: April 25-27: First series against the 2002 Central Champion Twins. June 3-5: The White Sox visit Randy Johnson and the DiamondBacks. June 16-19: Nomar Garciaparra and the Red Sox come to town for a 4-game set. August 11-14: White Sox travel to Anaheim for a 4-game set against Troy Glaus and the Angels. September 11-14: Sox play host to the Twins in a late season match-up that could be vital. September 22-24: Jason Giambi and the Yankees come to town.
  11. that could very well be it. I'm sure it has something to do with the talent is developed. of course, it could just be about money or money. really isn't that big of news anyway, same prospects either way.
  12. http://www.soxnet.net/afiliatechange.html Sox Change Minor Affiliates SN Report #343 - By Mario Scalise - September 24th 2002 - www.soxnet.net The White Sox announced on Tuesday that they have dropped their Arizona League affiliate Phoenix, and have reached a two year agreement with Great Falls of the Advanced Rookie Pioneer League. Great Falls, located in Montreal, were recently affiliated with the Dodgers. Their home stadium, Legion Park, is currently undergoing renovations and should be ready by June 2003.
  13. http://www.soxnet.net/september24.html Red Beats White in Game One SN Report #342- By Mario Scalise - September 24th, 2002 Tuesday nights game at Comiskey Park was a match-up between the Chicago "nothing to lose" White Sox and the Boston "last ditch effort" Red Sox. Unfortunately, the White Sox were able to pull off a win and play the part of spoiler as they lost 4-2. The Red Sox, who entered the game six games behind the Anaheim Angels for the AL Wild Card, beat Jon Garland who gave up four runs in 5 2/3 innings. Garland struck out two, but walked five. He threw 99 pitches for the game. The Sox offense, which scored their lone runs on solo homers, were defeated by 24-year old lefty Casey Fossum. The loss put Garland's record at 12-12 and the Sox at 79-78. Frank Thomas started off the Sox for the second game in a row with a solo homer in the first, putting the Sox up 1-0. The home run was Thomas' 28th of this season and 376th first inning home run, tying Carlton Fisk for 50th on the all-time list. That came after a failed bunt attempt by Willie Harris. With Jimenez on first and running on the play, Harris popped out to Fossum, allowing Jimenez to be doubled up at first. Before the fifth inning, the Sox and Jon Garland had a good hold on the game. Garland faced just 12 batters in four inning, and was working with a 2-0 lead, the second run coming off a Joe Crede solo homer. It was Crede's 11th homer and 31st RBI of the season. Garland ran into trouble in the fifth with two straight walks. In between them came passed balls by catcher Miguel Olivo. Garland stayed composed and pitched out of the jam, but more trouble came in the sixth. After the first three batters reached base, a Nomar Garciaparra sac fly put the Red Sox down 2-1. Two batters later, after a Manny Ramirez RBI-single and walk to Brian Daubach, Garland was out of the game in favor of Mike Porzio. Porzio didn't fair much better giving up an infield single and bases-loaded walk, which put Boston up 4-2. Sox relievers Gary Glover, Kelly Wunsch, and Todd Ritchie held the Red Sox to no runs from there after, but so did Fossum and the Red Sox bullpen who recieved the benefit of two double plays and a very unopportunistic Sox lineup. The Sox stranded a total of five baserunners in the last four innings. D'Angelo Jimenez played short and went 1-4. Ordonez, Konerko, Lee, and Rowand each picked up a hit. Miguel Olivo went 0-4 with two strikeouts. The Sox will play game two Wednesday night at 7:05 PM CT on FSN. Derek Lowe will take the hill against Rocky Biddle.
  14. didn't see much, but he used his curve and change more. his fastball had a little more life and he was spotting his pitches a little better. he still has a ways to go, but there was definite progress made.
  15. whoa, better leave me out of this prediciment, I ain't touching this system and we all know why.
  16. 85-86 wins. but a good 85-86 wins. a more consistent team, a smarter team, a fundamental team, and a team with more energy.
  17. Molto as in Molto Mario a few people started calling me this, so I stuck with it. anyone who lives in chicago may know where I got it from.
  18. I was really demoted. I'm a super moderator? I guess that proves that even a part owner can get the boot over here huh? have the SnR gang taken over with their freedom crap?

  21. SN Report: Ordonez Wins AL Player of the Week SN Report #341 - By Mario Scalise - September 23rd, 2002 - www.soxnet.net White Sox right fielder Magglio Ordonez was named AL Player of the Week on Monday for the third time this season. He is the first player this season to win the award three times. Ordonez batted .429 with four homers in the week. Ordonez, 28, is batting .320 on the season with 36 home runs, 128 runs batted in, to go with a slugging percentage of .591.
  22. possibly, but it won't mean anything. schueler was a good evaluator of talent, but he was never capable of taking the next step. he always looked 2-3 years down the road. he'll develop a great system for them, but will never concern himself with making the big league team better.
  23. okay......... any other suggestions?
