  1. I though this was his last year of his contract, he makes something like 12 mil this season, then he's a FA. Plus:
  2. No way, Magz has 2 years left on his contract and already likes the Sox's enough to give them a discount. Vlad would leave after this season, I'd keep Magz.
  3. To bad we wont play against him...
  4. Even if we got Vlad, he'd just leave after this season and i dont want to give up out top prospects for a rent-a-allstar.
  5. Lawrence would be a nice pickup but it probably takes way too much to get him. I hope KW tries to find out how much the Padres are asking for him.
  6. What about Tony Armas Jr., he's due for a break out season and only makes 500Kish money. We might be able to get him fairly cheap.
  7. Well Borchard, Rauch, Malon, Harris, Stewart+ 1 more position player for Vlad and Vazquez might be enough. But that would kill of farm.
  8. Dont forget about Guerrero, they'll probably get tons of offers for Vlad. Maybe some one will give them what they want (what that could be i couldn't even begin to imagine)
  9. There no looking for a FA 1b, there trying to dump extra salary bacause they have to many good players killing them in arbitration. They probably need to cut about 10-12 mil off there budget.
  10. If the 'Spos are looking to dump salary, theres no way they'd want Carlos, who is gonna make something like 3.5 mil this year. Something like Rauch or Corwin Malone, +Harris/Hummel or Stewart for Vazquez and KW would probably give up that much.
  11. Abviously Vazquez has much better stuff, but Byrd won 17 games on KC, and thats hard to do. All i'm saying is i'd rather have Byrd and keep 2-3 good prospects that KW would give up for Vazquez.
  12. Vazquez is better then Byrd, simply because he's 6 years younger, but i'd rather have Byrd at the same money and keep the prospect we'd have to give up. Vazquez has 2 years (this year included) of arbitration, so we'd lose him after 2 years anyway, for those 2 years Byrd will most likely put up similar stats.
  13. If your gonna spend 6 mil, just go and sign Byrd. This way we get a better starter then Vazquez and we get to keep our prospects. But thats a little too complicated for KW, so he'll probably trade for a guy like Vazquez and trade away a future star.
  14. First off JR is in too deep with the Expos, so any deal is unlikely, secondly Vazquez is going to make around 6 mil this year, and that about 6 mil too much for the Sox's.
  15. Those 3 prospects aren't going anywhere, unless Guerrero and/or Colon are involved in that deal.
  16. The Royals are rumored to be offering Byrd a 9 mil/2 year deal, so the Sox's would need to come at him with at least 5 mil per year. I think we'll get Daal, then KW will trade for a 3-4 type starter.
  17. Lets be honest here, the chance of the Soxs getting Byrd are s***. The Braves will be looking for another starter and so will the Phillies, and there gonna pay him a lot more then just 4-5 mil.
  18. From what i heard Mendoza will only sign with a team that will use him as a starter.
  19. This is how it works: First Frank get the choice to invoke his option at 6 mil, if he declines, then the Sox's still have a chance to invoke there option at 8 mil, or they could let him go and he becomes a FA.
  20. I'd like to see the Sox's make a run at Ramiro Mendoza, he says he wants to be a starter, give him a chance. Mendoza, 30, was 8-3 with a 3.44 ERA and four saves, pitching 91 2-3 innings over 62 games.

  22. Thats the way HTML code is written. With the quotes.
  23. I'm so happy he's coming back, i couldn't imagine him in another uniform.
  24. I still think its a good deal, we would have lost Keith after this season, but we still have Koch for 3 more.
  25. I'm with you, Carlos has more offensive potential then anyone we got.
