  1. QUOTE (bbilek1 @ Aug 31, 2013 -> 04:57 PM) Among other things. Everything he has shown so far has only proven me to be correct. In fact, a week or so after my thread he blocked the W-S Dash beat writer on twitter for tweeting about his struggles. Acts like that just exude confidence in his maturity. No, he hasn't proven you correct in any way at all. You sat behind your computer, sniped at him, and became incredulous when he didn't want any of it. You're what, 18? 19? You're proving yourself every bit as immature as you say Hawkins is.
  2. Daniel Bard was designated for assignment by the Red Sox. I would hope the Sox pick him up.
  3. QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Aug 29, 2013 -> 04:14 PM) Neither. Not hipster enough for Danny's and not douchebag yuppie enough for the Map Room. Actually, I haven't been to Danny's in a couple years. I'm sure it's just as douchebag as Map Room now. Hahahahahahaha, you think the Map Room is a yuppie hangout. That's cute. Danny's now reminds me of Logan Square. Basically it hasn't changed.
  4. And now two non strikeouts. Booooo.
  5. If Ventura snoozes on Sale's pitch count, he could strike out 20 tonight. The Astros are terrible.
  6. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 25, 2013 -> 05:47 PM) Beck with a dominant outing. The Ks are coming more frequently in AA. I'm very happy with his season when looking at the progression. I'm actually curious if the Sox organization had Beck work on certain pitches in Winston-Salem. He's been throwing a lot less groundballs in Birmingham so far.
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ Aug 24, 2013 -> 09:26 PM) It's certainly possible. He's only really had one bad month and he's had a great August. He had two abysmal months. I find it hard to understand how he's promotable after having a really pedestrian year. He didn't even do that well in Kannapolis last year.
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 07:17 PM) Daily Jim Bowden is horrible reminder. I honestly think Bowden would accept Martinez as a return for Rios.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 04:55 PM) I think every declaration that it is "unlikely" is being based on the fact that it didn't get done before the deadline, and if Stone's statement that the Rangers expected Cruz to appeal is true, then you can tear every one of those statements up. The Rangers didn't need a RF at the deadline if they thought Cruz would appeal; they would have been filling their DH spot part of the time. Now the Rangers OF is much weaker than anyone thought it would be. If I thought Cruz would appeal I wouldn't have given up anything of value for Rios at the deadline. There is so much truth in this post. It is beautiful.
  10. QUOTE (QuickJones81 @ Aug 8, 2013 -> 12:09 PM) Before someone states the obvious, I am well aware that 6 games is too small of a sample size to really make a judgement call. It is, and something like looking at the splits in a calendar month is horrendously ignorant.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 1, 2013 -> 07:27 PM) And of course, the guy the Sox were rumored to take in that draft is dominating AA ball (Stroman) It definitely appeared that we would have made him a reliever, though. If that's the case, it would have been a terrible pick.
  12. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:40 PM) Avisail hitting for the cycle July 7th: He has some wheels to turn that ball in LF into a 3B.
  13. Cleuluis Rondon, SS (19 years old) — international free agent: Rondon is a tremendously athletic player with phenomenal hands, an advanced defender who will play both short (when Lin is not there) and second. He hit just .226/.265/.344 in the Rookie Level Gulf Coast League last year, but there’s life in his bat, and his numbers were dampened by the fact that he started switch-hitting just before the start of his pro career, and he struggled from the left side of the plate.
  14. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:27 PM) Alex Speier ‏@alexspeier 3s Believe athletic 2B Cleuluis Rondon of Lowell is in the deal. As is Wendell Rijo, a 17-yr-old off to a spectacular start in the GCL Yes Rijo!! Lottery ticket! Smart move Hahn! Rijo signed last year for $600k+. I like it. edit: nnoooooooooooooooooooooo
  15. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 10:23 PM) I do not like Avisail Garcia. Just want to say that. He can prove me wrong, but everything about him seems like classic value driving. Never put up good numbers in the minors over an extended period of time. He's f***ing 22.
  16. Garcia confirmed. User Actions Follow Bob NightengaleVerified account ‏@BNightengale The #Phillies tried hard to grab Garcia from #Tigers, but now he's headed to #Whitesox with Iglesias going to Detroit and Peavy to #Redsox.
  17. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:56 PM) Garcia is younger...built like a Miggy clone who can run & has a CANNON in the OF. how good is he with throwing empty bottles of rum?
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:55 PM) So now Sox are getting Iglesias? makes zero sense for Detroit not to get Iglesias.
  19. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:53 PM) Not sure why everyone dislikes Garcia, kid can hit and he's like 22. He's no JBJ but he's not bad. Boston is probably sending lower level spec's our way. Because he is not JBJ or Gavin Cecchini or I have no idea who these players are they have to be good because people on the internet type their names a lot.
  20. Garcia and Boston prospects would be a really, really good haul for Peavy.
