  1. Okay, I know I need to get over it, but I sure wish we could have gotten Robin back. I'd love for him to end his career with the Sox. That's all.
  2. The Twins owner is actually Monty Burns....I've heard they based the character off of him, and on the radio up here, they have fake interviews with Polhad and have a Burns voice whenever the Twins make a bad trade move. Kinda makes me grateful for Reinsdorf--kinda.
  3. I'm up in Minnesota and I've heard the Jones and Menlakjdflkdjfawsz rumor a lot this past week too. Not that they're both going to the Braves but that they're both getting shopped. The Twins fans are pretty heartbroken about that, especially since AJ's gone, but I definitely see this as a strong possibility. I will be surprised if both (or either) of Jacque and Dougie are wearing Twins' uniforms next year...
  4. Hmmm, wanting Magglio gone and thinking it might better for his beastly salary to be cleared up for a starting pitcher or more depth are two very different things. I would love for Maggs to stay, but I just don't know how we can afford a team with a lot of depth with his salary taking up so much of the payroll....
  5. I fully agree! If our hitting coach can get him to make them pitch to him (and be more patient) he would be an amazing all arounder. I really like Jones, he plays with heart and is fun to watch. But I don't know if the Twins will trade him to their biggest rivals. But it would be nice of them.
  6. That would certainly fill some holes, but I think that has about the same likelihood of happening as the Lord Incarnate being our starting pitcher. The other problem with this trade is that it doesn't leave us ANY money to shore up our starting pitching rotation...And those BoSox guys make mad money...I just don't see that happening--and it won't help with a 5th starter...
  7. I think we've forgotten the most obvious choice here: Frank Thomas.

    Ann Coulter

True, true, but I'd rather see a debate than a shouting match. When I saw Pat Buchanan all he could do was yell and belittle the person he was up against--it was thoroughly painful. I would so much rather watch something that wouldn't degrade into fighting....

    Ann Coulter

No way, put Anne Coulter up against someone who is actually INFORMED. My money would be on her up against Nadine Strossen (pres. of the ACLU)--Anne would get torn up. Either that or let Dan Savage finally get a clear shot at debating her. Anne Coulter is the Phyllis Schlafely of our generation and I wouldn't mind having a shot at debating her.

I know! I e-mailed the web-addresses to my mom, my sister, my cousins, my pastor's wife, everyone. I mean, $9.99 a month for unlimited facials! That sounds like a great deal! Sigh. Guess I should check those out first. Ooops. You learn somthing everyday...

And, um, if you want to make a homemade face mask (to save money), use the google safe search too...So, don't search facials, or face cream. You'll get some, uh, creative solutions but not necessarily the best options for your skin...
  12. Just a link to the ever fun ESPN Page 2 "Daily Quickie," where they use briefly mentin Ozzie as their pick for next year's AL Manager of the Year. Just a brief note of hope amid all the rather bleak FA and trade talks. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/quickie
  13. Just to add my 2 cents...This procedure is, and always has been VERY rare. Both because of the ethical implications and because of the extreme health risks to the mother. Almost 90% (88%, according to the last class I took) of abortions are done in the first 3 months of pregnancy--as opposed to this which is in the much later stages. So, pretty much this is really a case of a lot of hype surrounding a type of abortion that no one really uses...And for one of my bio classes we had to watch an abortion procedure (early term) and it is nothing like the other one--and the woman receives a lot of counseling before she makes her choices and she is made aware of her options before she goes through the procedure. So, it's not like women just go into it and use it like crazy, at least not what I saw, and not with the new 24 hour waiting period. Just my experience from studying in the field.
  14. I'm all for Ozzie, but did his comment about pitching make anyone else nervous? Hopefully Cooper can straighten him out in that respect--otherwise it could be a long season.... "(General manager) Kenny (Williams) asked me how many pitchers I would want on my staff, 11 or 12," Guillen said. "I told him give me six good ones. Five starters and one closer."
