  1. Dammit, you bastard. You weren't supposed to say anything! So - Born in Pennsylvania, raised in Indiana, and now here in Texas. And of the three, I got to say I like it here best. Too much darn cold up there in northern lands.
  2. When you do, don't forget us little people!
  3. But he's not starting tonight. Make that change on your roster now... hehe
  4. Professional? Professional puppy watching?
  5. Now she should have said "I'll give you part of it if you keep your mouth shut". Dumb, dumb girl. hehe.
  6. wow. that's bad. and the guy in the shop "saw her put the ticket in her pocket"? Something doesn't add up with that either.
  7. Cross-Country, Track, Golf in college. Cross-Country, Track, and freshman basketball in high school - but then the politics and lack of (well, how do I say this nicely... a tan) came up (no offense intended to anyone but that's reality in the late 80's - early 90's where I went to high school). I played intramural 1-on-1 full court basketball in college too. That ss2k was a pesky ass too.
  8. As we all seem to be hanging on every word about this trade and all its effects on the Red Sox, Rangers, White Sox, and insert team here... what ever happened to "simple trades"? Isn't it really interesting that these contracts are so inflated that these guys simply can't just be traded anymore? Doesn't that say something about the state of the game? It's a sad day when these guys make so much money that they can't be moved or to look at it another way, IF they are moved (ARod and Manny) good guys have to be dumped off and ran off out of town. Don't they make way too much money then? But we continue to support them. As far as I'm concerned, ARod signed the contract, and he should have to be stuck in the hell hole called the Texas Rangers - they are grossly mismanaged IMO - and a lot of it started with his signing. He could have gone anywhere for a little less money. GREED is what led him to Texas, let him stay there now and wallow in the piece of crap team they've got going there. It also seems that this is what the strike was about in '94 - now salaries are way more inflated then they were then. And yep, the owners paid it, so they're at fault too. The state of sports is a bloated cow, there's waaaay too much money involved. Hell, go watch kids play. At least they try as hard as they can and the egos get left at the door (except the parents, hehe). Kapkomet
  9. This from the Dallas Morning News Website @ 5:00 CST: 04:59 PM CST on Thursday, December 18, 2003 Associated Press NEW YORK – Baseball commissioner Bud Selig ended talks between Alex Rodriguez and Boston to restructure the shortstop's $252 million contract, dealing another setback to the proposed trade between the Red Sox and Texas. The sides were trying to rework the shortstop's deal Thursday in a manner acceptable to the Red Sox and the players' association when Selig stopped the talks about 20 minutes after the 5 p.m. deadline. "Due to the unique and complex nature of the negotiations surrounding the proposed transaction involving Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez and the number of teams involved, the negotiations did not reach a successful conclusion by the deadline set," Selig said in a statement. "I have terminated my permission for Boston and Alex Rodriguez to continue pursuing this transaction at this time."
