It's good to see some hope for the future. Nastrini looked great last night, and it will be interesting to see Cannon pitch this week. Crochet will obviously be inning-limited this year as will Nastrini and Cannon (probably). But, those guys are a nice way to start building the rotation of the future. Quero, Montgomery, and Ramos are the most exciting offensive guys, and they'll be a big part of the future. Still a TON of holes to fill, though. I'll say this: Fletcher has shown some life recently. He should most starts in CF while Robert is out, and the more he plays the better he could be. He's most likely not the answer in RF, but he could be an answer for a while.

Sucks for Yoan. He started off pretty decent, and I had the slightest glimmer of hope that he'd have a good first half and he could be dealt. I am, however, not surprised at all that he went down with a significant injury. I will be glad to not see him in a Sox jersey again. What is truly mind-boggling is the number of times a Sox player goes on the IL for non-contact running injuries. Someone is not doing their job.

Nice to see a win. They'll be few and far between. Leasure continues to pitch well. Fletcher is looking better. Kopech may just become a dominant closer. Moncada going down is probably the least surprising part of yesterday's game. Everyone except for Eloy, Robert, and Moncada knew they were full of s%*# when they said they'd each play 150 games. Now, it's likely they won't play 150 games total.

This is the lineup that will somehow f*** around and win. Not really, but that would be hilarious.

Just finished Constellation on Apple+. Excellent sci-fi show. Creepy, unsettling, and mind-bending. I hope there's a season two.

Starting pitching was good. Bullpen was shaky at times (the wrong times). Offense was meh. Few standouts: Robert, Shewmake, Chrochet, Kopech, Leasure, Lee. Overall, it’s going to be a long season.

This is going to be a long-ass season, not necessarily because the team will be bad, but because the fanbase is so toxic. We have a right to be mad after last year. But I'm tired of thinking and talking about it. I want to focus on some of the new guys we'll see this year and watch their development. I honestly believe this team will be better than last year's team. Not dramatically better, obviously, but more enjoyable to watch.

I don't buy the Clevinger s%*#. Mainly because I don't want to. He pitched fine last year, but part of this rebuild was to rid the team of bad culture. This would look really bad for the Sox.

It has been so frustrating watching Kopech pitch. He seems to be in his head from the first pitch. As someone else mentioned, Kopech's biggest issue has been himself. I'm hoping going to the bullpen helps. Maybe less pressure will be better...but I'm not optimistic.

He's a shadow of the guy he was last season.

"Gatz" will never be fired. However, Getz will be given a few years to build the team. Maybe if JR kicks off or sells the team within the next few years a new owner might decide to clean house. But, Getz hasn't done anything to warrant being fired. He's actually done a pretty good job with the limitations he has. If this team is not competing for the division and playoffs by 2026, he may be on thin ice. However, I just don't see JR canning him anytime soon.

There's a lot of risk there. I'd be less concerned about injury, as Case has been pretty healthy. But, if he has a first half similar to how he pitched last year, his value at best is slightly less than what the Sox got for him. However, if he has a first half similar to 2022, the Sox get more at the deadline. That's a tough call.

Yeah, they have quite a few bullpen pieces to sort out. They did before this trade, but with Wilson being a sure thing for the pen (most likely), this probably pushes out a guy like Chavez, Keller, Shaw, etc.

Yeah, he looks like a decent bullpen piece, and he's under control for a few more years. When I first saw he was 29, that didn't even occur to me. He could certainly be a flip candidate if he pitches well.

I gave it a B. I think it's a good return, but not a fleecing. Thorpe will most likely be part of the rotation this season. Zavala is a very interesting OF prospect that could have an impact in the next year or two. Iriarte is another interesting piece that could make an impact soon. And Wilson, even as a throw in, adds to the bullpen and is under control for four more years. There was a lot of risk holding on to Cease into the season and hoping for a haul at the deadline. Remember how good Cease looked early last year before being rather pedestrian overall, certainly in comparison to 2022. I think we all wanted some team to empty their farm for Cease, but that wasn't going to happen. And if you have spent enough time reading the hundreds of pages in the other thread, you'll see those who didn't think Cease would fetch anything of value are giving this trade a D or F and saying "I told you so." Those who claimed the Sox would get the moon for Cease are giving the trade a C saying "Let's see what happens." And those with relatively open minds are thinking B for the trade. Generalizations, I know, but there was so much volatility in that thread, and people dug in, and name-calling ensued. It's over, and the Sox have again significantly improved their farm system. Was it worth it? Time will tell, but right now it's looking like a fair trade.

I know that what really matters is what the Sox could get in return for Cease, but I'd much rather see him in a Padres jersey than a Yankees one. Of the three teams that are purportedly in, I would think San Diego has the least fear of making a trade. They would probably be the team to fold and pay what the Sox are asking. This could be an interesting few days considering the start of the season is coming up quickly.

TA definitely had a part in creating the toxic atmosphere. I'm glad he found a home, and I hope he has a nice season. But I am glad he's not playing for the Sox. I too have hope for the future. This year may be rough, but I think we'll see a more cohesive team with much less drama, laziness, and (bad) attitude. So many Sox fans love to spend their days looking in the review mirror, huffing and puffing, and shaking their heads in a "I told you so" manner every time a former Sox player hits a home run or strikes out a batter. I don't care about former Sox players when they're playing for the Marlins or the Braves or whoever. Out of sight, out of mind. I'm concerned about the current team...and bitching about their performance.

I might be in the minority, but I really don't care about bobbleheads. I'd rather get a shirt, hat, jersey, or even a water bottle.
