  1. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 10:51 AM)
    Im pretty sure Bobby is worried about his future, because he knows the Sox wont pay$10 mill a year for him. Hes trying to stay healthy by not throwing 99 mph every time, or throwing his curve which apparently is really stressful on his arm.

    He was trying to be like Charlie Sheen in Major League 2, learn some less stressful pitches to keep the longevity of his career going. Thats all fine and dandy, but if your results diminish it wont matter how healthy you are.

    This is a perfect analogy of what Jenks has been doing.

    Jenks was awesome last night. When he had the last hitter at two strikes, I said to my wife, "He's gotta throw the hook." And he did, and that hook was like watching a video of 2005.

    I may be putting too much into to this but I believe some teams may be turned off by the fact Viciedo is owed 10 mil a year (I believe) for a guy who is still a work in progress.

    I thought it was 10 million over 4 years?

    Please NO. Branyan has a bad back and is a sneeze away from the DL again. Hawk keeps saying how powerful a lefty he is and talks him up everytime at the plate. May be something, or not.

    Also I really really don't want to trade Viciedo. I truly believe he will be a great MLB player soon.

    I agree. He's still rough, but he's got some raw power that could lead him to being a hell of a hitter. Plus, he reminds Hawk of Moose.

  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 10:24 AM)
    Just a guess, but my trade prediction is Morel and Harrell for Branyan. Seattle has shown interest in Morel the past few weeks.

    I thought about Branyan during the game last night. I'm surprised his name hasn't come up much.

  5. After watching the past three games, I wouldn't be too upset if the Sox end up with a smaller bat such as Hawpe or LaRoche. Acquiring Dunn or Fielder would be great, but they'd be sending away a lot of young talent (especially for Fielder). What about LaRoche and Jackson from the D-Backs?

  6. I would think a deal for Lilly only happens if another deal that sends Hudson somewhere else happens. Provided KW doesn't send away too much young talent, I'd be happy with Lilly and Dunn on the team. But then there's be two guys on the team with Lilly(i) in their names.

  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 12:00 AM)

    If the article had been written in really bad English with a bunch of swear words you'd think it was written by Ozzie. God forbid KW tells the truth. Everyone knows he's looking to make deals. I'm tired of hearing that it's the team chemistry that is causing the winning ways. Chemistry does play a part, a big part even, but enough is enough with Mark Kotsay rolling up double plays.

    To some of you experts, how does Hudson compare vs. Clayton Richard?

    Remember when Clayton hit a bad stretch and he would get shelled second time around (or third?) vs any lineup, everyone wanted him out of town. This year I remember some of you wanting to personally drive Jake Peavy to SD and bring back Clayton Richard!

    Hudson will be fine, we need him and Freddy to be a damn good 4-5. Pleasy Kenny get us a big bat and let's win this division.

    I was going to say something about Richard, too. Many thought that he couldn't be part of a trade package because of his inability to string together a few good starts. But, he was a major factor in the acquisition of Peavy.

  9. I too thought this was an old thread that got bumped up when I first saw it. And reading through it, I noticed that there was plenty of name-calling and ***. So, it was just like a thread from May.

    I'm frustrated after this road trip. I've noticed that when this team is good, they are good. But when they are bad, they're really bad. I can't see why Ozzie won't just admit that they need another bat. I'm not sure this team has any business being in first place as they are right now. And unless they shake off this bad road trip and get back to winning, they won't be in first place much longer. If Minnesota and Detroit make a move or two and the Sox stand pat, there's going to many an angry person, myself included. I hope that doesn't happen. And if KW makes a move to get another bat, I hope we see a lot less of Kotsay.

    AJ's got a few more good years left; by then, Miguel Gonzalez might be ready.

    I'd like to see AJ re-sign. He's much more than a bat and a glove. Besides, my kids want Pierzynski jerseys for their birthdays. If I'm going to spend the money, I hope it means something next year.

  11. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 02:37 PM)
    Looks like the Tigers will gain a half game today. The Twins most likely will also. Damn that Bobby left a sour taste especially with an off day to dwell on it. Ugh

    Yes, I agree. I was quite pissed off that I stayed up to watch that. Makes me even angrier about the blown save.

  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 22, 2010 -> 01:50 PM)
    They should just release him, get rid of the bum. Then if Putz blows a couple save opportunities, find a way to blame Jenks as well.

    I had to laugh at this line: "When he blows a save, he's a fat ass with bad facial hair."

    I love the anonymity of the internet. Tell that to his face. He'd kick your ass.

    Sigh. Greg, greg, greg. You have to cool down, man. Of course Jenks could kick any one of our asses, he's huge and he's an athlete. The point you're missing (and I just can't see how you are missing it) is that Bobby has one job to do...ONE JOB! And he's had trouble getting it done. Enough with the constant defense of him while making sarcastic comments about it. All of us on this site are entitled to our opinions, you included. You don't want to say Jenks is bad right now, fine. But don't attack everyone else because they see and say that Jenks is not getting the job done.
