  1. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:57 PM) What makes you say that? KW tried to trade Garland last offseason. KW hates going into the final year of a contract with a player, especially a pitcher. It's ok though, at least we have Vazquez to anchor the rotation. Find ways to win games, like Garland does, is overrated.
  2. We know they've been bad this year, but these numbers tell the whole story: 2.59 4.00 6.05 6.14 6.18 6.30 7.13 8.10 8.36 10.80
  3. If a team makes you include Broadway or Russell in a deal to get another solid prospect, you jump on that.
  4. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:49 PM) Makes you winder why our relievers are only good for one year. Is it time to start the loser thread yet or should we keep recycling the old one until they win again? Maybe Don Cooper should actually teach them a new pitch so that the league doesn't catch on to them? His inability to get Cotts and Thornton to throw anything other than a straight fastball has been pathetic.
  5. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:47 PM) If Kenny signed him to a deal like that, I don't even know what I would do. Here's the scary thing: they probably think signing Rowand would offset the fan's being upset if they let Buehrle go. Also, I'm of the belief that Garland will be traded this offseason.
  6. I can officially say I just looked at the Sox record for the first time in my life to see what their chances are to have the first pick in the draft.
  7. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:44 PM) A rebuilding team that has no one to build anything with. Our rotation for the next 3 years should be built around Buehrle, Garland, Danks, Gio, and another pitcher....but instead, it's likely to be Vazquez, Contreras, Danks, Floyd, and Gio for the next two years. Nothing like a rebuilding project with a 10 million dollar 50 year old.
  8. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) I couldn't even imagine that. Seriously, no way in hell could I live with a contract like that. Look at his numbers this year, and then think about how guys like Hunter and Jones will get between 12 and 15 mil per season. Also, I'm sure the Sox will think that he brings amazing intangibles to the table as well. I honestly believe he could get more money than that. BTW, would anyone be opposed to trying Willie Harris at 2nd base next year, as long as he has a platoon person who can hit lefties good?
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:38 PM) I give it another week before the Royals pass us up and we are in the cellar. Good....this team deserves that dubious honor. Right now, I'm for anything that equates to the Sox going into fire sale mode. And the rumor about the Sox asking a lot for Buehrle likely means they know they can't re-sign him this offseason.
  10. QUOTE(lemon44 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:34 PM) Can we trade for Aaron? He'll be back in 100 games after this game. I'm sure we'll overpay by giving him something like 4/32.
  11. Great, now we won't hear the end about how Rowand came back to haunt his former team.
  12. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) Our relievers love walks. We only have three relievers out of the 7 on the roster who deserve to be in the majors. It really baffles me how that everyone's job is secure right now. 100 million dollar payroll for this junk?
  13. Another game where we get a few runs early, and then we just go silent and wait for the other team to comeback against our pitchers. It's fine though....this team is so bad, it's not worth it to hope they get a few wins and fool our GM. There is absolutely no excuse for the Sox not to become sellers.
  14. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:24 PM) If it wasn't for those dam Nationals, I'd say we are well on our way that #1 pick next year. Give it time. I think the Reds will end up with the worst record though after trading some of their better players.
  15. QUOTE(lemon44 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:12 PM) Why not a PH. At least I found the only manager worse than Ozzie....the National League Ozzie. QUOTE(lemon44 @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 07:15 PM) Owens is bad. I think there's two people within baseball who think he can play in the majors, and it's Ozzie and Kenny.
  16. Didn't Patti Labelle try to seduce a young Fresh Prince?
  17. AJP in the middle of a 4-30 stretch. I'm sure he'll blame it on the presence of Toby.
  18. What did Fields do on the play? And I like Ozzie not going by the book there and trying to get Danks the win.
  19. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 06:13 PM) Is Uribe below .200 yet? Add him to the list of guys that better not be back in 2008.
  20. QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 06:02 PM) I just noticed... why the hell is Cintron at SS and Uribe at 2nd... Are you sure that's right?
  21. We have no one in the minors who we could realistically expect to come up to the big league team as a starter and put up an ERA under 4.50. The best move we could make with Contreras is to try and trade him.
