  1. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jun 11, 2007 -> 08:00 PM) Ichiro: "To tell the truth, I'm not excited to go to Cleveland, but we have to. If I ever saw myself saying I'm excited going to Cleveland, I'd punch myself in the face, because I'm lying." If he's talking about the cold weather there, then we can probably forget about going after him this offseason.
  2. We'll see Javy, the nibbler tonight with their powerful, patient offense.
  3. Funny tidbit....KW said he's never seen him pitch live.
  4. Willie Harris looks like a completely different player out there. So much more concentration and focus.
  5. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 08:47 PM) We've come to expect negativity out of you, but it seems when you actually are positive, you're wrong. Like I said, if the pitchers are up there throwing ball after ball, the umpire is not going to help them out. Period. You said "Not too worried about the top of the 9th." Well, we threw out our (arguably) 3 best relievers right now and still gave up 2 runs. Dewon Day isn't one of our best relievers. We're Jenks, Logan against lefties, and then junk. Just because Day had a few solid innings in mop-up duty, that doesn't mean he should be in the majors. Logan threw a pitch right down the middle to Lamb that was called a ball, so I'm not going to be too concerned about that. And thanks for telling me that when I'm positive, I'm wrong. Are we really going to start criticizing everything that people say that's wrong? If so, we might as well shut down this site. Today was the most positive game I've seen from this team in a long time, as they actually seemed relax on the field.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 08:40 PM) You've been really inconsistent lately fathom. The umpire isn't going to help out any pitcher who isn't throwing strikes. Really only 2 were questionable. Hell, Houston could say the same about Jenks strike 3 call on Scott. What did I say that was inconsistent? There were about 3 pitches that Logan and Day threw that were strikes. I didn't think Hall was catching the ball very cleanly to hep the pitchers either. It's amazing that I get criticized when I make a post that is positive, and not negative.
  7. I'd do Dye for Billingsley straight up. We could use a righty power arm as a possible starter, or if not, a nasty set-up man. Dye's clearly deteriorating, and there's no way we're going to bring him back. Let's not get picky with these trade ideas....do I have to bring up the ludicrous trade proposals that were brought up on here for Garcia? QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) Why would Dye for Billingsley straight up be bad? Billingsley has a good future ahead of him. He should be starting now. Dye has been garbage all year long and is a free agent. I'd love to get more for him than just Billingsley but if the Dodgers said, "Give us Dye, we'll give you Billingsley" I'd do it, if nothing else were available. Don't worry, some people just have insane ideas of what the value is for a player with a few months left on their contract.
  8. Congrats to Buehrle. Not too worried about the top of the 9th, as the umpire sucked. Jenks seemed to have much better stuff today.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 07:30 PM) LOL, JD finally hits one hard and its caught for a line out. Get rid of him already. Anyone have a season this bad following an MVP caliber year? Jeez, who check swings on 3-1 for a little groundout to the pitcher. Dye's been really bad on 3-1 pitches this year, as he's been way too pull-happy and impatient. I love the idea of trying to trade him for someone like Billingsley.
  10. Flashbacks of Crede's homer against Rodriguez in the WS after seeing Uribe's homer. And I'm officially on the Terrero as starting outfielder for rest of season bandwagon.
  11. Nice catch by Konerko. Let's get some guys on for Terrero.
  12. Pretty impressive speed by Terrero. I'm all for giving him the chance to start the rest of this year.
  13. It's amazing just how bad Dye is in every aspect.
  14. Dye and MacDougal for Billingsley and Betemit.....sign me up. It's almost to the point where I'd rather we fall even farther behind the Indians and Tigers so that KW doesn't hold out hope.
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:39 AM) That's my point!! You are noticeably bipolar and depressed to ME, imagine what it is like to everybody else. Should Fields have had that ball that led off the 9th? I could not tell at all from my angle. But I can say this: if Jenks is smart and throws the hook 1-2 to Berkman like he did to Lee, I bet he gets the same result he got with Lee (a double play) and we are tied after 8 and a half innings. I would assume that is on A.J. though. Yes Fields should have had it, and Berkman didn't have a 1-2 count. When someone is bipolar, doesn't that mean that their mood changes a lot? I've been down on this team all season.
  16. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:34 AM) McCarthy does not have the stuff to be a 2 or 3, and Danks does. That is why I like our spot more than anything else. And Chris Young and not trading Crede will haunt KW in his sleep when his job is terminted. There's no way anyone can know that.
  17. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:31 AM) I hope you don't want him over Danks now. That is the direction your posts are going. I think both of them are going to be very solid pitchers in the majors. And no, I'm not saying I'd rather have him. If anything, I still am disappointed that we never gave him the chance to start from the get go last year, that's all. However, that ship has sailed, and with it, went Chris Young.
  18. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:24 AM) They are almost the same player basically except one is a SS, one is a 3B, and Joe had his career year 2 years later than Greene. And Greene doesn't have a bad back. Not sure why San Diego would make that deal, I wouldn't if I were them. And heck, I'm not even a big fan of Khalil Greene, but then again same goes for Crede. Of course, it would have had to have happened when they were looking for a 3B last offseason. The Padres were very desperate.
  19. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:23 AM) I just find it funny because over the last few weeks, it's probably the least upset I've been after a Sox loss over the last 3 years. I used to try and schedule things around Sox games...now, I don't even care if I miss some of the game. I know they'll be down 1-0 when I get home anyway.
  20. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 03:08 AM) Fathom your becoming borderline bipolar in your depression over this team with some of the stuff you are saying. That Cubs team is a bad team that will lose tomorrow to finish off a 4-3 road trip, and enter tomorrow 6 out of first. And they are 6 under .500. That is a terrible baseball team as well. Of all people to say that I'm bipolar, I wouldn't expect it from you. It's not even that I think the Cubs are a great team....it's just the rest of the teams in their division suck.
  21. National League Central continues to show how bad it is....besides whoever plays the Sox, of course.
  22. McCarthy looks really good so far tonight.
  23. Speaking of the Padres...Khalil Greene was someone that I was hoping we'd trade for last offseason, in exchange for Crede. He'd be a monster outside of PetCo.
  24. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 11:27 PM) Oh come on, what about Milwaukee? That team started their fade sooner than I even expected. They've gone from like 14 above .500 to 5 above in no time.
