So just absolutely disastrous starts for every pitching prospect acquired at the deadline and Korey Lee has looked like dogshit.  That’s about right.

On the bright side, Jordan Leasure had what I think was first scoreless outing for us……..

Jacob Gonzalez has 1 xbh in 14 games.  No bueno.

Think a future Sox podcast talked with the A ball announcer. He mentioned they were working on his swing and he was inside outing everything the other way. Thought his profile said his power was often via pulling so that may explain lack of extra bases.

  3. We traded the right to spend money.  With what we have just witnessed at the deadline, who thinks we were going to spend that money?  People correctly point out that these deals are worked out often years in advance and we most likely had no one lined up.  While I would prefer to be the Dodgers and have so much talent lined up to acquire that I needed more pool money, the Sox aren't in that position.  Considering the above statements, getting two actual players, 19 and 20 years old, one of whom has had some success, in essence for nothing was actually the correct move.

I agree. Jerry would have to make her Pres of Baseball OPS and give her a massive raise. Her gig in Miami has great potential and no reason to give that up, unless you make it extremely attractive for her. But hey, if she wanted to come for that, by all means I would take her over KW and RH in a heartbeat.

I fear everyone is missing a massive issue.  How long will Jerry have the team?  Do you uproot your family, leave your current good gig to go to a team that will likely be sold when the current, elderly, owner passes?  After paying a couple billion for a team, most new owners will want to put their own management team in place.  You would be gambling that you could turn a team around so quickly that a new owner would want to keep you and your people in place.  Kim Ng seems to be doing a decent job but the Marlins don't give me the same organizational vibe of the Rays or Dodgers where I might be content to just sit back and not rock the boat.  Owners have egos.

  5. It very well could be that the parameters of a deal had been worked out.  It was a busy time, Hahn could have been on the phone with some other club and she may have called saying yes we will do the deal.  Or Hahn could have been locked in a closet.  I don't think if Hahn was completely out of the loop, you keep sending him out to the press.  Think stuff would have leaked more from other organizations also.
