  1. I don't know if there's any such thing as winning lucky, or anything along those lines. Baseball is not a game of the clock, it's a game of innings. If you score 20 runs throughout the game or explode in the 8th, it's all the same. It's 20 runs. Would I want to play that way all year? No. But good teams win early, late, in the middle, close ones, blowouts, every way. He works for a Chicago paper...he should be writing about the Cubs losing 2 of 3 to the Diamondbacks and Brandon Webb...not being negative about 1 of 3 teams who haven't lost yet.

Question...I suppose I could just look it up, but what is he talking about with the "accident?" I love the album, and I think he's pretty cool, but I can't pretend to know too much about him. The performance was outstanding however...

  4. When did Jay Mariotti become a Cubs fan? I wasn't aware of that. I know why, because he isn't.
  5. So, I was driving to work today, and I ran into Frank Thomas. He's behemoth of a man. I told him to go get 'em, and asked if he wanted to be on my softball team. He laughed. My god, I cannot express how giant of a man he is. I was surprised he only had a tall coffee.
  6. How so? I agree with the poster who discussed indecency laws...they have a decent case, but to challenge this based on "pedophiles and child pornographers" is ridiculous. Clearly the Catholic church has attracted pedophiles, and no one looks to shut them down...now rightfully so, but let's not make ridiculous statements about pedophiles where it doesn't apply.
  7. How can this be difficult? "She was pretending and had consented?" Give me a break, that's the weakest defense I've heard, and it worked, too. Jesus.
  8. A lot of things "could attract pedophiles or child pornographers." We haven't made being an altar boy illegal yet, and that certainly has, so clearly this is a ridiculous law.
  9. Yes, let's compare terrorists and a FILMMAKER!?! For your own sake, I hope you're not serious.

Thanks for the welcome. I hope that's true. I don't think my attitude towards the Cubs should have anything to do with my White Sox fandom. I'm a good fan. I like to talk baseball, and I know my stuff. That's all that should matter to other fans. Also, I'm not a student anymore. I'm an employee now. Been out of school for about three years. And, for the post above me...your message about W's and I's is quite cryptic...but you're right.

Nope, not ESPN. Another White Sox only site.
  12. It took me a long time to figure out that the Bush ad was a reproduction. In that case, even as a very liberal democrat, I am dissapointed in moveon.org. That kind of rhetoric (Hitler) is for people like you and I to use...not a large special interest. It should be noted that it is not the democratic party, but moveon...supposedly unaffiliated. It is not his fault, but I think Bush has done himself more harm than good with this one just based on the amount of misunderstanding.

Hello all Soxtalk faithful. I just registered today and wanted to say hello. I'm a long long-time member of another White Sox message board, and have grown tired of dealing with some of the people there. Hopefully this board is a bit more light-hearted, can smile a bit, and talk some baseball. I'm sure I'll spend a lot of time on this political board as well. Well, again, hello, thanks for having me.
