This may sound stupid right now (coming of a 7 game skid), but I do believe the Sox have an excellent chance to back in first place by August 12. I know that Cleveland is a very good young team, but these are games that have to be won and will be won. We have 3 against the tribe and 6 against KC. If weat least 6 or 7 it will then be our division to lose. Along that stretch Minnesota has the west coast teams. 3 w/Anaheim, 3w/Oakland and 3 at Seattle. If the twinkies are going to stumble...it will be along this stretch and later this month. Post some comments on what you believe will happen, because I for one am going to stay optimistic until everything is over. 5 games back is nothing...I am just happy (and hoping) that we got it out of our system now and not in september or even october.

Out of the list I like Matheny a lot. I am not too sure how he is doing this year, but he did win a gold glove last year.

14-1 this year (the game against the Yankees w/10 runs in the first)...Overall they have only lost 5 games ever since I was 8 years old. One of which was the Cameron 4 home run game (Which was awesome to watch). I would say my overall record is like 110-5!!! My first loss was the cameron game. (It's the truth)

I have to disagree....Cotts is a big league pitcher. Remember how lights-out he was to begin the season??? He had an ERA just above 1.00...then do you remember what happened?? Ozzie needed a 5th starter and sent Cotts out there (after he went out of his way to say Cotts WILL remain in the bullpen, because of how well he was throwing). I look for him to come back to form after the break. You may disagree, but he will end up playing a major part in winning ballgames for us!!

On last night's baseball tonight, Peter Gammons was giving his predictions on playoff teams....He came up with the Angels, Yankess, and the White Sox...for the wild card he said it was between Oakland and Minnesota. Not only that but he picked the White Sox to win the World Series. That got me to thinking...Are all the pieces there or do we need to make another big pickup?? Please post some thoughts.

I believe the last sweep we had was April 13-15 against the Royals. I do believe we will sweep the Twinkies today (even though Santana has been pretty much lights out). Probably a 3-2 or 4-2 victory.
