  1. Movie theater prices need to be re worked. On Sat and Sun, no matinee prices Show times before 3pm and the last showing of every film Sun-Thurs should be matinee pricing.
  2. Seems like we've been hearing 'younger and more athletic' for a while now.
  3. Has anyone else watched 'Two Lovers' with Joaquin Phoenix?
  4. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 07:04 PM) He made a couple of mash up type records with Travis Barker. Mash up doesn't count either. That's just playing two similar records on top of one another, right?
  5. QUOTE (Sonik22 @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) I really wish someone on here loved Chevelle as much as me. Their new cd really is their best. You all need to check it out, "Sci-Fi Crimes" I was a Chevelle fan about 10 years ago, maybe longer. I saw them open for Local H at a small bar in Chicago. I think they'd just put out an EP and they might not have even been 21 years old at the time. I followed their next two records, then it kinda started soudning the same. I'll have to check out the new stuff.
  6. This is bitter sweet. I'll miss Jimmy playing for the Sox, but I have more opportunities to see him play now and he might get a ring.
  7. Like a club DJ? I don't give too much love to DJs, they play records, big deal. Did he make or produce any records himself?
  8. Who was this DJ AM guy? What did he do that I should know about?
  9. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 30, 2009 -> 07:18 PM) I enjoyed Jackie Brown when it came out. But it is rightly considered as a second-tier effort compared to Tarantino's most inspired stuff. I watched JB at the movies and on cable and I must not be getting something. It feels like it's building up to soemthing and it just never takes off. The punch lines make you snicker but not lol. The action is limited and De Niro mopes around like an idiot.
  10. I respect the effort he's made to come back, but it's time for Big Joe to quit lacing em up.
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 10:42 PM) I just watched two movies from Netflix that I'd never seen. They were Glengarry Glen Ross and Awakenings. Couple that with the Sox loss (which I luckily didn't watch a second of) and I am fairly depressed. Glengarry Glen Ross is a man's movie. Every bit of dialouge is fantastic. Every actor is outstanding. Among my favs of all time. The scene in Awakenings were DeNiro wakes up and sees his mother is one of the few times I've cried at a movie theater. I've only watched the film once and I will never forget the effect that scene had on me.
  12. That's a looooooooot of tunes. How long did they play? Is there a place that more songs have been written about than California?
  13. QUOTE (Reddy @ Aug 26, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) i bet her boyfriend is underwhelmed these days... HIM??!! He's suddenly swinging a bat in a two car garage. I bet she's not exactly waking the neighbors either.
  14. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 09:33 PM) I just got back from Inglourious Basterds. Roger Ebert probably summed it up best. I came away not really knowing why I liked it, but I think I did (and it'll probably get better the more I see it). Some things about it, though: -The "basterds" weren't in it that much -Christoph Waltz definitely stole the show -There was much less action and violence than I expected, which was disappointing I've done zero homework on this film. What's the plot of the movie? Fiction/comedy?
  15. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 25, 2009 -> 01:43 PM) They are not, unless the "The" makes all the difference. Iron Maiden's original vocalist fronted a band called Killers for a while. I'm sure 'The' makes a difference if another band were to try to sue them. Pretty amazing that no one was 'The Killers' before them.
  16. Are 'The Killers" really the first band to have that name?? It just seems like a name that would have already been taken.
  17. It sounds stupid. Little things can escalate into arguments in which no one wants to back down, especially if people don't like each other. One guy uses profanity, the other guy swears back, boom fight. Police and the media have a way of spinning things to make them sound ridiculous.
  18. Water, ice, lean protein powder, possibly a banana, blend. The taste on powders has come a LONG way, but if it tastes too good, chances are it has a buttload of sugar.
  19. We're 3.5 games back with over a month of baseball left to play, I'm out.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 10:33 AM) Please turn in your man card.
  21. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 02:55 PM) Y2HH, What about my current routine? Do you see any issues with primary/secondary muscles being worked on the same day? Chest Legs/triceps Shoulders Back/Biceps I throw in a an ab routine on days where I have more free time. If I may butt in here...according to Y2HH, your biceps are not being worked to their full potential because they get used so heavily during your back excersises. How long have you been doing this split? What are the results??
  22. 'The Goods; Live Hard, Sell Hard' was pretty funny. I'm not a huge Piven fan, it must have gotten me in the right mood cuz I lol a few times.
  23. Do you, or did you ever own any individual or team sports records at the HS or College level??
  24. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 22, 2009 -> 07:35 AM) Now that you have the size, there is no difficulty in maintaining that size simply by continuing to work out. I'd target shoulders now. What I need to do is shed a few pounds of bodyfat, since I was a lazy schlub the last 1.5 years or so -- I didn't let myself get too bad, but I put on about 1.5" on the waist...which needs to go. I'm eating better and working out consistently again, so I need a few months, but still...always seems like it takes forever. That's pretty good maintanance for 1.5 years of being lazy. Things could be a whole lot worse. You're right though, it takes forever to make gains and it can be lost so quickly.
