  1. Tangent, but I was just thinking how great it'd be to see what greg would do in a gay bar. I'd sit back with the popcorn.
  2. QUOTE (Brian @ May 8, 2016 -> 10:34 PM) You could be the Mayor of Popcornopolous. Silicon Valley continues to be great...and Gilfoyle continues to be the best character.
  3. Lynn Bowden, top 100 on 247, decommitted from IU. Not too surprising, I was shocked he had even committed to IU in the first place. I suspect he ends up with the Fightin' Rocks. If he had stuck, he would have been the highest ranked recruit in IU history.
  4. Yeah, that horse scene.... With GoT and Silicon Valley, HBO doing very well two weeks in for this slate.
  5. Isn't arguing about who is the most trustworthy presidential candidate kinda like arguing who is the nicest guy among Hitler, Stalin and Mao?
  6. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) Wow, so student loan service companies are f***ing terrible. Does anyone have Navient (formerly Sallie Mae, I think)? If so, be warned. I just got a notice in the mail my monthly payment was being reduced by 25%. I didn't ask for it or authorize it. I emailed them about it asking why and they sent me some BS non-answer that it was to conform to the terms of unsubsidized/subsidized federal loans. So I call them today for an actual answer and it turns out they, without authorization from me, extended the term of the loan by FIVE YEARS to "conform" to new maximum term limits allowed by the Federal Government. I don't even know if that's true, but either way, this company took it upon themselves to extend my loans and collect an extra 5 years of interest off me. What a crock of s***. I had them change it all back to my original payment schedule but I bet 95% of their customers are going to get this letter and be like "oh sweet, i'm saving some money," not realizing their going to pay more in the long term. Was this for a federal loan serviced by Navient/Sallie Mae, or a private loan with Navient/Sallie Mae? I recently refinanced my private loans with Sofi (used to be with Navient) but my federal loans are still serviced by Navient.
  7. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 03:21 PM) Because who has thought about Prince in the last 5 years? Anyone? Quite a few people. He released 3 albums in the past 2 years, one of which reached as high as 5 on the album charts. Not to mention his involvement with artists he's tutored like Janelle Monae. Prince was simply one of a kind. Amazing performer and absolutely brilliant musician.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) Neither is having "password" for a password, but we know it makes you more likely to have your identity stolen, so we tell people not to do so. Shhh, don't give away Gage's password.
  9. Valpo promotes Matt Lottich to be head coach. I remember him as a senior on the first New Trier team to win a baseball title. Now he's married, with four kids, and a D1 basketball coach. Life, man.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2016 -> 09:57 AM) Thomas Bryant is back for year 2 at IU. Stoked. Gives us a very good front court with him, De'Ron Davis, Morgan, Anunoby, Hartman and Troy Williams (if he returns). Losing Yogi will obviously be huge, but the backcourt will still have Blackmon and Johnson, plus Josh Newkirk and Curtis Jones. At this beyond-incredibly-early stage, this puts us as conference title contenders again. That road still goes through East Lansing though, they have a stacked class.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 08:49 PM) Don't know why I was thinking Leon, but John Podesta. Ha, I had thought you meant Leon Panetta. Then when you posted the correction I thought you meant Paul DePodesta for a second.
  12. What a finish to that game. Man oh man.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 4, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) And there goes any real discussion. I am more interested in the numbers than this crap. I'm interested in the numbers too. But I think Balta has a point re: your statement that it would be the most damning thing. The guy has called to ban an entire class of people from this country and has advocated for war crimes, not to mention wanting to punish women who get abortions. I don't think these numbers would make any sort of dent at all. Even if you come at it from the angle that the people voting for him may love to bomb the families of terrorists, but not if he gets gobs of money from the government...I just think they simply won't care. But seriously, I want to know what those numbers would be as well. They must be massive.
  14. I want to like Vinyl. I really do. But I can only take so much of Bobby Cannavale just doing a bunch of coke and screaming. I get it, he has problems. Let's see some of the interesting stuff. More Jamie, more Nasty Bits.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 30, 2016 -> 06:01 AM) Great place to watch hockey though. It really is, fun place. Great atmosphere in there.
  16. I just want to know in what world our military is "severely depleted." That's simply insane. As for the reimbursements from other countries for being the world's policeman, does he think we do that out of the kindness of our hearts? That whole passage made me think of gangster movies where the low level guys walk around to neighborhood businesses collecting "protection money."
  17. QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 29, 2016 -> 10:05 PM) Dirty play, but if it doesn't cut into playoff games (Which they won't do anyway), it's a nice rest. All of this doesn't matter if Crawford isn't ready or healthy for the playoffs. I was in the 4th row directly in front of where Keith slashed Coyle. I was looking right at Keith's face when he was on his back, and he was f***ing PISSED. You could see the whole thing happening in slow motion, it was weird. To me it looked like Coyle took Keith down clean (left hand straight to the chest), but my brother claimed Coyle swiped Keith's face before that. Regardless, retaliation or not, it was a dumb cheap play. Enjoy the mandatory rest, Keith. I can see myself in the videos showing the play, it's funny.
  18. Man we got throttled. No answer for Carolina inside at all. And not having our best defender (Johnson) didn't help, especially on the perimeter. This was an Indiana team that had been playing very well, and Carolina made them look like a high school team. That's scary.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 06:09 AM) Outside of Michigan, hockey is pretty down right now at the other schools. This was a down year for Minnesota, but in general they're one of the top programs in the country. They're located in one of the most talent-rich areas, too. But outside of Michigan and Minnesota, yeah, the Big Ten isn't a very good hockey conference. Penn State is getting better, and Michigan State and Ohio State will have the occasional decent year. Wisconsin has been down for a while. The big problem is only having 6 teams in the conference. ECAC, Hockey East, NCHC and WCHA are all better than the Big Ten.
  20. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 04:10 PM) You're the first person I thought of when I saw that. That's kind of sad ha. Haha I did as well.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2016 -> 12:02 PM) Literally every single UK player who can declare for the draft is doing so. http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/16879...adbpr=595667888 That's not a huge deal with the new rules that let players wait until after the combine. It makes sense for guys who are remotely in consideration to declare (but not hire an agent) and test the waters at the combine.
  22. What a huge win for Indiana. Hoo hoo hoo Hoosiers!
  23. QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 12:56 PM) That would be the Senate ADVISING the President of people they would approve. No. From the appointments clause (article II, section 2, clause 2): "He (the President) shall have the Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two-thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Councils, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments." The "by and with the consent of the Senate" modifies the "shall appoint" portion of the clause. In other words, it goes: 1. President nominates a person to a position 2. With the advice and consent of the Senate, that person is appointed to the position
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 07:39 PM) Michigan State and Purdue out. Iowa State the only big school left within driving distance of the UC. might be some empty seats next weekend My cousin, who went to Purdue, snagged a pair of tickets last week. He'll still be going, he's just not as excited.
