  1. EVERYBODY in the lineup is pull, pull pull right now. The game we see guys like Crede, PK, and AJ try to use THE WHOLE FIELD TO HIT TO, we will stop getting completely owned by Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Julian Tavarez, and a AAA pitcher who never posted a winning record in his career. That might be next season though. Their plate approaches were horrible today.
  2. Whatever, I don't see any reason to be impressed with the twins array of pitch-taking slap-and-tickle hitters. Any pitcher with a good fastball that can attack their hitters in will shut them down. They have only had success against us this season b/c of our terrible pitching and our starters falling behind in the count. Jose pitched Tyner, Punto and Bartlett as if they were murders' row. Even if they make the playoffs, they won't do s*** b/c of their offense. They had their f-ing backup catcher hitting third today for chrissake.
  3. You never know what can turn it around. Gload tonite could've made the difference this season.
  4. They were just talkin about AROD and his 3 errors yesterday on ATH when woody paige said "Jay made 3 errors in the first segment" Jay replied "I never make errors." The guy is a f***in joke.
  5. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 28, 2006 -> 03:12 PM) Makowiak uses "Let the Rhythm Hit 'Em" by Eric B and Rakim. You can here it here--> http://media.putfile.com/Makowiak-Intro I'm not 100% on this, but I think he may (also) use "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash. Either way, gotta love the old school, Rob is one of a kind.
  6. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 23, 2006 -> 12:53 AM) The nice thing is Cooper has had a good history with guys improving there changeups when joining our organization. It seems to be a strenght of our coaching staff and a nice changeup to compliment Thorntons pedestrian (yet good enough when mixed with his fastball) slider would make him pretty much unhittable (if he can continue to improve his command). His windup and motion are really smooth and easy and then he brings some 97 mph heat. If this guy can learn to throw a changeup with that same motion & delivery, game over. And if not, we still have the big dude to come in and throw gas from the right side
  7. Grady sizemore's cheering section sounds like the 11 year old girls who used to drown out Beatle's concerts with their high-pitched shrieks.
  8. QUOTE(Damen @ Apr 28, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) So I'm forced to watch the Sox, waiting for ESPN to pick up a few games, so Chris Berman can provide his neutral, professional, call. So long as they aren't playing the Red Sox.
  9. I thought one of the best broadcast teams was when they brought Robin Ventura up to the booth and it was him DJ and Hawk. Having a 3rd person really deflated any perceived tension between Hawk and DJ. I dont know how common it is in baseball to have a 3-man squad and Robin said he didnt want to be a broadcaster, but that handful of games they all worked together was good stuff.
  10. The dude is amazing. His email address was published in the f***in paper and he reads and answers people's emails. What other manager would do that? It was awesome when he said Buck Showalter was jealous of him and now there is one more reason why. He and Torre are the only managers whose jersies you can buy like the players'. It took Torre years to get that status. Ozzie rocks.
  11. QUOTE(Credepopsup @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) That was a great fight between Vandermeer and Downey. (If you like that sort of thing) Downey ended up with a broken nose, Vandermeer finished with a smile on his face. The game was a great advert for AHL hockey Best fight in a real long time, and it's been time coming since the season began. Downey pushed the ref away so they could keep on fighting....he totally left himself vulnerable and paid for it, but that was hard-core Check it out at: http://p2.forumforfree.com/chi-at-stl-ott-...ockey.html#6069
  12. You will have no problem getting a ticket or parking, although parking costs too much (everything there costs too much cuz their product sucks), but it's still fun If you are a student, you can get a ticket on gameday for 8 bucks, seriously as good a bargain as you will find. The arena has good sightlines in my opinion, so following the action is easy, obviously so much better in person You can sneak beer into the place if it's cold and you wear a big winter coat too, but obviously be careful lol
  13. Doesn't $Bill ever have to explain why attendance and no doubt revenues for his team in the 3rd largest market in the country suck balls? I mean, they have to, right? Nobody shows up, they have no media deals, etc. Clearly fans cannot exert any pressure on him, but what about the league and the other owners? Isn't it about time they do something?
  14. QUOTE(GarlandFan20 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 12:43 PM) Cliffs AB in Colorado and his crazy baserunning skills. That was just amazing. When the ball hit the ump and knocked him off his feet, he took second. And then someone hit a not so deep fly ball, he tagged up and barely made it into third with a sweet popup slide. If I remember right, El Duque started that game, and he nearly killed himself running to first, going into second, and going into third. I remember Hawk and DJ making fun of his baserunning "skills"
