  1. QUOTE (The Critic @ Nov 25, 2008 -> 02:11 PM) You don't know how much I was hoping it was Ernest "The Cat" Miller. (Yeah, I know he was WCW, but still.... ) He was also in WWE for a short time on Smackdown. I think he did some announcing too.
  2. QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 28, 2008 -> 01:06 PM) 4 pitch leadoff walk morneau Not a leadoff, Mauer grounded out to start the inning
  3. Is he really this bad? How can he be a 1st round pick if he is that awful?
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ Sep 20, 2007 -> 08:41 PM) So in the world of wrestling, if a victim (Sting) files a restraining order against an aggressor (Karen Angle) to keep her at a distance of at least 50 feet, the victim can then willingly and intentionally breach the 50-foot distance in order to have the aggressor arrested? Even when I try to suspend disbelief, this is too stupid for me to process. ....or I might just be pissed off at Sting for taking Karen Angle off my TV screen.... Unfortunately, you'd be surprised how many times that happens in the real world too.
  5. Cool, thanks guys. I've heard a lot about ROH, but never seen any matches or anything. I learned a lot about who has started there and wrestled there from www.obsessedwithwrestling.com. Great site and worth checking out.
  6. Not much into ROH like some others here. I just have recently done a little readin on the promotion. What was the basis behind their "Pure Champion" and why was it merged with The Heavyweight title?
  7. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ May 10, 2007 -> 07:20 AM) It is truly an awful finishing move. Batista never completes the move and always ends up splayed out falling backwards Even Ahmed Johnson did it better.
  8. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 10, 2007 -> 01:32 PM) We just kept grabbing guys off the scrap heap. Like Cory Snyder. Ugh. mike devereaux
  9. Mr Kennedy to be back in 6 to 8 weeks: http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/kennedyupdate2
  10. This is Skinner, real name Steve Keirn. Was in a tag team with Stan lane back in the day known as The Faboluos Ones
  11. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Apr 23, 2007 -> 11:51 AM) About 15 years ago, a friend was treated very rudely by a WWF wrestler. I'll spare the details because the wrestler used some pretty nasty language, but I can't remember the wrestler's name. Another friend witnessed the verbal assault and he can't remember, either. Wrestling fans, I need your help. this type of stuff drives me crazy. I think the wrestler had some kind of Cajun character, my friend thinks he was a bearded guy and suggested Cactus Jack. That doesn't sound right to me. Can any of you throw out some 1992 era WWF wrestlers that fit either description? How about a mid card wrestler named Skinner? Shaggy beard, chewed and balding. Not cajun though.
  12. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Mar 21, 2007 -> 02:05 PM) Mr.Kennedy..............................................Kennedy.......next breakout star! Let's Hope So
  13. They won't stop Taker's streak. He'll be undefeated at Wrestlemania until he's done.
  14. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 07:40 AM) done the hideously stupid "fake Kane May 19th" angle I actually liked the fake Kane angle. I don't know why, but, I thought they ended way too soon.
  15. Is John Cangelosi today's answer?
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 12:39 PM) They haven't had a good tag team division for years. Hopefully with Cade and Murdoch, the Highlanders, the Spirit Squad, and Cryme Time, they'll put something together again. They just need to stop breaking up the teams to push one guy and Jannetty the other guy. And I'd like to say, Carlito really works as a face. For some reason, he reminds me of the Rock. Supposedly WWE has told carltio they want him to act more like The Rock. I like the Jannetty the other guy reference. They split up too many teams I would love to see Haas/Benjamin, Sylvan/Conway and some of the others I'm forgetting put back together.
  17. I'm a WWE guy, always have been, even when WCW started killing the them in the ratings and stealing all their guys. I stuck with WWF(E). But, I think they are hagving a hard time pushing more guys to the stardom ranks these days like they once could. I guess it's pretty unfair for guys like Edge, John Cena, Randy Orton, etc...to follow in the footsteps of The Rock, Austin and Triple H. I miss the late '90's early 2000's when pretty much all 3, WWE, WCW, and ECW were loaded with talent and going strong. One thing I don't like anymore with WWE is the lack of tag team wrestling, it looks like now they are starting to develop some teams, which is good. I really like Cade/Murdoch, why they split those 2 up and took the belts from them is beyond me. I hope they get that push again.
  18. The best heel of all time had to be Ted DiBiase. He had an impressive 10 year run where his "money" ended the 4 year title run of the then unstoppable Hogan machine. He was what everyone hated, a guy who could buy whatever he wanted and did so. It was the perfect gimmick. Then, when he teamed with IRS they smashed poor old Brutus Beefcake's surgically repaired face which prompted the return of Hogan. After he hurt his neck, then he started the Million Dollar Corporation where he again bought stars, even getting some of them to turn like Tatanka and of course, Sapphire who turned on Dusty Rhodes at the time. I'm sure there are a lot of things I'm leaving out but, DiBiase would be my vote for greatest heel of all time.
  19. Another great transaction with The Wood. Thanks!
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 10:15 AM) William Regal's still wrestling? I thought he had died... I still think William Regal is an excellent wrestler. He is just misused as usual with alot of the better guys they have or have had.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 15, 2006 -> 04:51 PM) Politte needs to be designated. He is done. Hermy has back discomfort. If we rely on either of them, then we are nuts. Remember if a player, no matter how crappy is on a team, ozzie will play him. Timo Perez was a DH, a 1st baseman, and our leadoff hitter last year. Buerhle needs to start to get his pitches down in the zone a bit more. And throw his cutter into righties more. Pitchers like Buerhle live on deception, guile and control. He needs to run that cutter in on the hands of righties to get his changeup away to be effective. Today all he did was throw medicore fastballs belt high over the middle of the plate. Garcia needs to start throwing hard, get traded, or get an MRI. Vazquez needs to throw his slider more o 2 strike pitches to righties. He likes to throw his curve or his two seamer which seem to get him beat. Garland needs to do more of what he has been doing. Pitching in and running his sinker down and in to righties. Contreras needs to keep on his track. He is almost turned the corne. And Ozzie needs to stop trying to get X pitcher the victory and worry more about the Whitesox getting the win. To many times he lets a pitcher start an inning hoping that he will get the victory, instead of letting his bullpen take care of it. Or worse, he lets a pitcher get mauled over the coals for 8 or more runs, only to have us come back just short at the end of the game. You dont need to let a pitcher give up 8 or more to figure out he is having a bad day. Bmac needs to be in the rotation. His arm is electric, his change is nasty and this kid is chomping at the bit to start. Putting him in the rotation will give this team life Nice post and I agree on all counts.
  22. The main event tonight was awesome. I didn't think those 2 could pull it off, but they did.
