  1. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jul 11, 2006 -> 01:02 AM) Awesome is on a self-imposed retirement after blowing out his leg at ONS against Tanaka and not getting what he thought was a fair payoff for tearing down the house in that (and this is coming from a guy who thought that Awesome jumping to WCW made him a terrible wrestler to have around, talent aside) excellent match. Whipreck was offered a part-time contract but I don't think he signed. The Meanie hasn't been contacted and Corino has said that ECW died in 2001 and that he wasn't interested (He's working for Zero-1 Max in Japan, Hustle in Japan and some other indy promotions) They had a lot of the core talent for ECW in 2001 but they treated them like total s*** and what came of it is a pretty big blowback since much of the upper-tier talent went elsewhere/refused to come back. Orton is such a hack. He's got no mic skills, limited in ring talent (Well, I guess if using restholds were a qualifying factor for a ***** match then he'd be tops) and hasn't really hit his potential as a heel. Nobody wants to watch SmackDown or SmackDown's PPV's. I mean, the only reason Mysterio has the strap is because Eddy died and Batista went down with an injury. Vince is so delusional with his hard-on for hosses. Watch WWECW is like watching a train wreck now -- you know it is going to be terrible but you can't look away. And why doesn't Dreamer get a shot at the belt since they were building that feud between he and Show? Why aren't all the matches under 'extreme rules'? The whole full time ECW roster is: RVD (suspended), Angle (suspended/health), Sabu, Little Guido, Tony Mamaluke, Big Guido, Roadkill, Doring, Al Snow, Balls Mahoney, Test, Justin Credible, Jazz, Mike Knox, Sandman, Stevie, Sandman and Dreamer. (and the bastion of sXe awesomeness that is...CM PUNK!) They can keep adding Crazy, Psicosis et al. to the roster but it doesn't mean that they'll see camera time. The show is only one hour and Vince/Steph seem content on 10 minutes of Kelly's Expose (the only thing being exposed is that the segment f***ing sucks), a Knox squash match, Sabu match, Test squash, main event. It's a sad state of affairs. When you are right, you are right. I have never seen CM Punk wrestle. I have only read about him and have been waiting to see him now for a while. Is it true he was held back because of his relationship with Maria? Don't forget about the pointless Sandman caning a lose segment either.
  2. I wouldn't mind a Ric Flair/Big Show match so much as if you know, it was on Raw. I just don't know why Vince would bring back ECW and think that it is going to be popular if he's putting it in his image rather than what hardcore ECW fans want. Of course, now, with it being back, it has sparked interest, so people are watching, but it's not going to take long before it goes the way of The XFL unless something changes. The Kelly Kelly thing is just dumb. Yeah, she is smoking hot, but in old ECW that girl would have been driven through a table by now or hit in the head with a kendo stick or whatever. And why not bring in guys like Mike Awesome, Mikey Whipwreck, The Blue Meanie, Steve Corino or anyone else that could make that show worth watching. Those guys I'm sure need the money and the job. As far the roster split, it was fine when the shows were somewhat balanced. But, you take Kurt Angle and Randy Orton away from Smackdown and replace with then with no one? How that show even draws ratings anymore is beyond me. And their PPV's? Who the hell wants to watch The Great American Bash? Get real. If only I owned WWE.
  3. I really didn't have many expectations for The New ECW anyway. What it boils down to is that it's a 3rd brand owned by the same company. And, as any wrestling fan knows, Vince will never keep his nose out of anything he owns, he will always have a say. The main problem I have with The New ECW is the fact that Angle and Big Show were out in it and now Show is the champ. That is what sucks bad about it. I have no problem with them putting Test and The Bashams and such in there or any of the new guys like Knox or Punk, but why Angke and Show? To me, that is Vince rubbing it in Heyman's face that is still under The WWE umbrella. I also hate the cross over Raw?Smackdown into ECW crap. Let it go on it's own with new faces and see if can make it. One last thing, why they haven't put Super Crazy, Psicocis, and Simon Dean (Nova) in there baffles me. Merge Raw and Smackdown back together and put the guys that belong in ECW there.
  4. QUOTE(CWSOX45 @ Jul 10, 2006 -> 10:02 AM) Just got a question, hopefully someone will know the answer. Considering that I go to school in New Jersey, and have to work a LOT of hours this summer, I only purchased a 13 game plan for the 2006 season. I was just wondering if the White Sox will let the 13 game ticket holders renew their plan for the 2007 season, or do they not get that benefit? You get the oppurtunity to renew after the full and split season holders and before any potential new 13 game holders. At least, that is how it worked for me this year.
  5. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ Jul 6, 2006 -> 07:40 PM) Another 2 easy and great transactions with whitesox91403 Thanks for the tickets yesterday. There isn't a better place to sit for a 19 inning game. TheWood is as good as it gets to deal with.
  6. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 09:20 AM) Without question.. Razor Ramon....who evolved into just Scott Hall. Unfortunately Halls sleazy, alcoholic persona as a character was too life-like =/ He was actually Scott Hall in The now defucnt AWA, he was tag team champion over there with a young Curt Hennig. After that he went to WCW for the first time, going by a gimmick named The Diamond Studd. He was managed by DDP. After that didn't work out is when Vince made him into Razor Ramon. If anybody else remembers, Kevin Nash was actually in WCW at first (pre WWE Diesel days) as two very bad gimmicks of Oz and Vinnie Vegas. How could I forget about Jake The Snake and The British Bulldog. I liked them guys also. That flight from hell was crap. Golddust, who I really liked also was released shortly after as well. The whole Perfect/Lesnar thing was crap. Perfect took the fall. This thread is great, I love to talk old time wrestling. QUOTE(Mplssoxfan @ Jul 5, 2006 -> 10:14 PM) It was the part of NWA, then became WCCW. Gino Hernandez! Not the best, but an outstanding heel. "Two hundred thirty five pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal! I AM YOUR CHAMPION!" Some seriously bloody matches in that league. How can we forget The Crusher? I actually got to meet Baron Von Rashke one time. Really nice guy. EDIT: Have to give a little love to our former Governor. Jesse was always fun to watch. That is where The Ultimate Warrior got his start as The Dingo Warrior and Rick Rude started getting famous.
  7. All Time Favorite: Stone Cold Steve Austin (he was what everyone wanted to be, the anti-establishment, rebel against your boss at any cost beer drinking ass kicker) Other favorites: The Ultimate Warrior (hated his run in WCW though) The Road Warriors Bret Hart Mr. Perfect HBK Tazz Cactus Jack (hated all his other gimmicks) Golddust Chris Jericho Brock Lesnar
  8. QUOTE(tealeafreaderii @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 11:56 PM) this is just a rumor from Murphy on 670... but he said... that BMac for eyre and Howry is a possibility... Although Murph is an idiot, this intrigues me. If The Cubs do this they are decimating their bullpen.
  9. Completed yet another transaction with The Wood. Honest, reliable and all around great seller.
  10. QUOTE(THEWOOD @ May 7, 2006 -> 09:57 AM) Completed another transaction with whitesox91403, again everything went great. The Wood is a great person to deal with, Thanks again.
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Apr 9, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) Elarton pitched a pretty good game against Texas too, before they went nuts on everyone. Only gave up 2 in that game against a pretty hot team. BTW, did anybody see Jenks' velocity today? I didn't get a good look at the gun. Is he still at 92-93. I gotta be honest. I don't think he's gonna get to 98-99 at all. Very nice game today. He hit 99 today
  12. Made 1st of 3 transactions with The Wood and he is a very respectable seller.
  13. Bought 2 items from Yoda and he delivered. Very nice and thank-you!!!
  14. QUOTE(CantuSox @ Jan 3, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) I was wondering if anyone might know where I could get one of the 2005 AL Central Division Champs lockerroom hats? The ones with the silver on the sides that they wore when the won the division in Detroit. My step dad didn't get one when they were out and I would like to get one for him. I haven't been able to find them in a store, online or ebay. If someone could point me in the right direction online or a store in the Chicago area it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Good luck in finding one but they are pretty scarce now.
  15. With the market the way it for starting pitching and the salaries they are getting, would you blame either one for testing free agency? As much as I would like to see them both with The Sox beyond 2006, I can't say I would blame them.
  16. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 12:42 AM) I sent them an email and they said call. I call and was on hold for over 2 hours... They will charge you a ton to remove the lettering and then to add a new name. I had a seamstress from where I live take The Ordonez off of mine for 10 bucks and then had grandstand customize it. it all depends on what you want to spend, but, yes they will do it.
  17. QUOTE(spiderman @ Nov 24, 2005 -> 02:47 AM) Hopefully, Konerko resigns to go with Thome, but I think Iguchi is our #2 hitter again! I disagree. I think KW is going to get someone with speed that can hit in the 2 spot. I think Iguchi will be moved down now to replace Rowand's stick at the bottom of the order.
  18. Can Brian Anderson steal a base, can he steal 15-20 a season like Aaron can and is his play in CF really that similiar to Rowand's, if not better like I have been hearing?
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 06:52 AM) That's why he put the forest green tag in after his sentence. I didn't catch that, I'm an idiot
  20. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 01:10 AM) R.I.P. Leo Daigle Fan Club. At least he's married to Jennie Finchgreen> No, that's Casey Daigle, a pitcher with Arizona or TB or something like that.
  21. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Sep 27, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Do you have any doubt that the fricking Indians are going to come back in the ninth? none at all
  22. QUOTE(SouthSidePride05 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 09:48 AM) I haven't been able to sleep at night because the thought of Cleveland passing the Sox makes me ill. And when I wake up in the middle of the night, the first thought that pops in my head is "1 1/2 games up", and I feel like throwing up. Last night I couldn't sleep, so a thought popped into my head to ask an online psychic what'll happen in the next 10 games. I don't believe in psychics, but I had nothing better to do since I couldn't fall asleep. I went to google, and typed in "ask a pyschic a question".. you're not gonna believe what the 2nd result says! It says "Cleveland.com". Go ahead and try it if you don't believe me. wow, just wow thnkfully, that is just a coincidence
  23. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 10:58 PM) Just a point of interest, perhaps... Johan Santana's last 2 starts vs the White Sox... 16.0 IP, 10 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 20 K Last 3... 24.3 IP, 16 H, 1 R(a meaningless 9th inning homer by Konerko in a 5-0 game), 4 BB, 30 K Just FWIW Guess we're due then huh?
  24. QUOTE(thepronk @ Sep 21, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) the white sox SUCK CLEVELAND CENTRAL CHAMPS!!!!!! GO TRIBE! it's a school night, don't piss your pants before morning big fella
  25. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 18, 2005 -> 02:59 PM) By the way...with what's looming tomorrow, I almost don't even think it's worth pointing out, but we picked up a game on both Boston and New York today. All in all a great day. That's still not a bad thing to point out.
