  1. QUOTE(bighurt2719 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 11:05 PM) i still believe we are going to the postseason, the end to this year has been pretty damn anticlimactic. and now i feel left out cause the cards clinched today and we still have whatever out magic number is to complete first. what is it anyways...please tell me its under 10. that said, i am confidant we can turn it around. maybe we'll break out of this slump with huge offensive numbers right before the playoffs while we play cleveland. or am i too hopeful... And who have The Cardinals had to fight off to win? And no, it's still 13
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 12:36 AM) "Bail on this team" "Why should we give a s***?" "Anyone still gonna be a Sox fan?" What a wonderful bunch of die-hard Sox fans! Sox fans my ass. Post Of The Year I will be a Sox fan and believe in this team until there isn't a breath left in me. There magic number is 13 and Cleveland's is 23, let's be realistic.
  3. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) See, that's the conclusion I don't get. I understand everyone here pointing out, correctly, that the Indians are playing great ball. Fine. I personally think their pitchers aren't as good as that in the long run, but that's just my opinion. But honestly, I don't see how we're not playing good ball. Again, we're 8-5 this month. The Angels series worries me a bit, but not that much. Maybe I'm too optimistic. Maybe I am seeing things that aren't there, when I say Ozzie and the leaders of that team will get the fire back. Maybe the pitching won't recover. But my bet is, given the history of this team this year, that they will. And what I'm really saying here is, I don't think we're nearly as bad off as you are all saying. I hope we beat up Cleveland. I hope we show that the Angels series wasn't a sign of abilities. But even if we split with Cleveland, a very tough team right now, and do well against others, I think we'll be fine come playoff time. I share your optimism, nicely done.
  4. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) That's not the lineup. Oh good
  5. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Sep 14, 2005 -> 12:38 PM) Borch in right Dye DH Anderson LF Ozuna 38 Ozuna - Iguchi - Rowand - Konerko - Dye - Piez - Uribe - Borchard - Anderson Can't do any worse than last week and I think this is a better defensive team. This is tonight's line up? I don't like it at all
  6. QUOTE(Sox Hustler @ Aug 31, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) Right now the White Sox web site is saying Jason Johnson will be starting vs Count. The rain out pushed Johnson back so he will start tomorrow for Detroit.
  7. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 04:13 PM) I almost have the entire 1959 team. I have been buying them off of ebay very cheap. Cool stuff to have. How many cards are in that set? I have been thinking about going for them all.
  8. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 10:44 AM) Isn't Ted some Neo-Religious freak now? Yeah, but he works for WWE again as a behing the scenes guy.
  9. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:31 PM) I need to stop reading these threads. I've gotten my hopes up so many times. Not trying to get anyone's hopes up, just repeating what was told to me. I haven't seen or heard it anywhere. So, we'll see what happens.
  10. Supposedly the Sox and Reds have agreed to the trade and it's waiting for Griffey to decide. That is from ESPN radio tonight.
  11. QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Jul 30, 2005 -> 09:57 PM) Never Heard that, but I know a couple of Cub players were banging Sandbergs Ex-wife yes, former White Sox OF Dave Martinez was another, that's why he got traded.
  12. It's incredible how slimmed down he is. I know it's speculation, but common sense tells you he was on something.
  13. I watched National treasure for the 1st time last night. Very good movie, IMO.
  14. The older version of DJ Tanner from Full House
  15. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 12:35 AM) The Sox traded Scott Eyre to the Blue Jays for Gary Glover in 2002. Wow, way over my head. I stand corrected. I thought Glover came from our system.
  16. QUOTE(Beastly @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) Thoughts on adding Scott Eyre? He is an Ex-Sox we let slip through our fingers in the Glover deal. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But we traded gary Glover to Anaheim for Schoenweis in 2003. I think Scott Eyre was long gone before then.
  17. Anything new on the Omar Vizquel rumor? He's one guy the Sox could really use here.
  18. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 06:28 PM) In 2000 Sox sit on there ass at deadline, 2005 they better go for it, best record in baseball at playoff time to lose 3 in a row does not mean a thing. I disagree. KW should go out and get anther reliable bullpen arm and that's it. Do not mess with this team at all. They do not need a superstar to come in and get them over the hump.
  19. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 02:43 AM) Why should he be considered out of chances if he may help this years club? It makes no sense to me. IMO, he was playing last year with absolutely no pressure and couldn't get it done. I honestly don't see helping this team at all.
  20. Joe Borchard seems like a stand up guy. He has said all the right things regarding his situtaion and not producing. But the bottom line is this, IMO. He was given a very legitimate chance last season when Maggs went down. The Sox were virtually out of it and holding auditions for the following season and Joe dropped the ball big time. He is out of chances with The Sox, IMO. Sell now, while his stock is somewhat high. PS- I' saying this and i was a Joe Borchard fan.
  21. QUOTE(SS Gload @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) Wassup guys, new poster here, have been lookin around the site and then decided to sign up after hawk's shout out. I'm orginally from Chicago but now i live in Columbus, Ohio. I am visiting Chicago soon and am going to 2 Sox games, one vs the tigers and one vs the bo sox. Anyway, i just want to put any ideas to rest that i am a bandwagoner, cuz i've been a sox fan all my life and finally the white sox are having a season to remember. (besides 2000) Edit: Also, I was interested in those "He Gone" shirts, where do you buy them? Welcome aboard. What are the dats of the games you are going to? I will also be there against those teams? You can get the shirts outside the stadium from the sellers on the street.
  22. Yes, but who has The Cubs Fans one that shows two of them in a very precarious position? I do, I absolutely couldn't resist.
  23. The numbers favor The Sox as the previous post says. The Twisn and Indians have a lot of work to do to catch The Sox and that's if they play only .500. I'll be cocky and say that they will play better than .500 in the 2nd half and will make the playoffs. Rather than b**** about this series let's be excited about a 1st half no one saw coming.
  24. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 10, 2005 -> 05:06 PM) You are unreal, honest, unreal. Everytime this team has a hickup you jump off ship. You know what fathom, just stay off alright, you're a bandwagon jumper. It's so goddamn annoying. Agreed.
