  1. QUOTE(chisoxdavid @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 03:06 AM) on turkey day my old man makes the deep fried bird and my mom makes a traditional bird. Do you guys really eat the stuffing inside the bird? I thought it was only used for flavor, and never thought about eating it because it gets placed in the turkey when its raw. I don't understand, it gets cooked along with the raw turkey.
  2. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) sounds like a conspiracy to me.... How so?
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) Exactly, you have remember Kenny Williams generally goes after high character guys and will not hesitate to get rid of a troublemaker. Freel has some serious issues mainly having to do with booze and mental problems making him seemingly off limits to the Sox. Cincinnati on the otherhand does not seem to mind his insanity/legal problems so there's really no reason for them to trade away a very good, youngish, cheap player. I think you are being a tad bit dramatic. If Freel were literally insane, I seriously doubt he would have lasted 10 years in professional baseball. Also KW gave Jenks a chance and he had some substance issues.
  4. Good news, whether Juan is playing SS for the Sox next year or not.
  5. We nearly burned down a trailor in Carbondale frying a turkey. Nobody told us you were supposed to do it outside.
  6. My buddy who is a Cub fan thinks Soriano will play right field and that they are looking at Drew or Lugo for center. Jones would be traded.
  7. QUOTE(toasty @ Nov 19, 2006 -> 01:03 AM) the thome trade was day after thanksgiving, black friday.... rowand got the news when he was still at home with family... The deal was made official on Friday, but agreed to and reported on Wednesday.
  8. Is there a quote from Hendry somewhere saying that he may start for them?
  9. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Nov 16, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) According to the ESPN Rumor Central (which is an Insider service so I won't post, but if anyone has it, they can confirm), the price that's being bandied about for JD Drew's services is around 4/$56mil. Um...yeah. I don't know what's worse, the fact that he thinks that he can get that or the fact that he probably will. No f***ing way.
  10. QUOTE(SoxHawk1980 @ Oct 30, 2006 -> 12:42 PM) Whatever. The Sox will pick up his option and then...He Gone (to St. Louis). For?
  11. Is anyone going to see the My Morning Jacket movie Okonos tomorrow? It's playing in select theaters around the country before the DVD comes out on Tuesday.
  12. I live about a mile from Busch Stadium and the Cards fans are going crazy around here. It's kind of annoying for me, but after last year, I know how they feel, and I am very happy for my friends who are Cardinals fans.
  13. Just because Mark wants to play for St. Louis someday doesn't mean he will get traded there. I can't imagine who we would want that they would part with.
  14. Here's a song that a Cardinal fan friend of mine wrote to The Gambler theme: On a cold autumn evenin' in a game bound for glory, I met up with the cheater; he was all hopped up on speed. So we took turns a wiping pine tar on our pitching hands till Van Slyke made him wash up, and he began to speak. He said, son, I've made a life out of lying to peoples faces, And knowin' what the Cardinals were by the mascara on Edmond's eyes. So if you don't mind my sayin', "That is my b**** right there!!" For a taste of your manhood I'll give you some advice. So I handed him my nail file and he smiled just like Phil Niekro. Then I rubbed the tip of his cap and found some vasoline. And the night got deathly quiet, and his face lost all expression. Said, if you're gonna play the game, boy, ya gotta learn to cheat like me. You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, Know when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your pitches when you're sittin in the dugout. There'll be time enough for countin when the cheatin's done. Now every cheater knows that the secret to his slider Is knowin' what to throw away and knowing what to keep. cause every hand is sticky and every game is a winner, And the best that you can hope is that Tony wont call you a cheat. So when he'd finished speakin', he turned back towards the dugout, Crushed out his rosin bag and faded off to wash his hands. And somewhere in the darkness the cheater, he broke even. But in his final words I found an asshole I could curse. You got to know when to hold em, know when to fold em, Know when to walk away and know when to run. You never count your pitches when you're sittin in the dugout. There'll be time enough for countin' when the cheatin's done........
  15. There is a 60% chance of rain in St. Louis today and a 90% chance tonight and tomorrow. I think that would benefit Detroit.
  16. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 24, 2006 -> 06:30 AM) What are Card fans saying about this? This is soooo much worse than the AJ dropped 3rd strike, IMO, but we heard about that until...well...I still hear about it. A little late, but Cards fans are not keeping quiet about this. I live in St. Louis and it's all I've heard about the past 2 days. A local radio guy had Steve Palermo(major league supervisor of umpires) on his show and pretty much grilled him to the extent of calling him a liar about the whole situation.
  17. This a very catchy song. Damn you, you know that I love cake.

    Firefox 2.0

I'm planning on downloading it tonight. Has anybody tried it out yet? Any comments or complaints?
  19. First good thought to come to my mind is Brian Jones.
  20. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 20, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) Leon Durham's miscue was so much more satisfying. Yeah, this story got me thinking that I hadn't seen that play in too long. I did a few searches and couldn't find it anywhere.
  21. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Oct 18, 2006 -> 09:56 PM) Yeah I just want to play Milwaukee, bring back the old AL Central memories. AL West? Opps, my bad I thought they switched leagues when they changed to 3 divisions, it was a few years later.

    Drug Ads

The whole idea of advertising for something that needs to be prescribed is absurd, in my opinion.
